Skyrim Dragonborn DLC Arrives

Skyrim Dragonborn DLC ArrivesAt last, the Jedi are no more. At last…wait a minute here. What am I doing, rumbling on about Jedis and the ilk? The long wait for the Dragonborn DLC for long suffering PS3 owners who love all things about Skyrim has finally come to an end, as the Dragonborn DLC is finally available. In Dragonborn, you will be able to journey beyond Skyrim to Solstheim, which is an island off the coast of Morrowind. You will be able to make use of all your abilities and skills picked up in Skyrim as you attempt to save the island from a mysterious power which threatens to destroy Solstheim’s inhabitants.

Apart from Dragonborn’s main quest, you will find yourself having hours of new content to explore, in addition to a slew of new characters, new towns, new dungeons and a slew of new side quests to complete. Elite players who have already achieved the coveted Level 81 status will be able to find an opportunity to square off with the game’s fiercest adversary, simply known as The Ebony Warrior. Dragonborn can be purchased at a 50% discount for $9.99 during launch week only, so the adage of the early bird catching the worm holds true here.

Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 Coming Early 2013

dragonborn ps3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 Coming Early 2013The Skyrim Dragonborn downloadable content (DLC) which has been seen by many to be stillborn, does seem to have a fair shot at arriving on the PS3 platform sometime early next year, and this bit of information came from the folks over at Bethesda themselves. The game developer is said to be hard at work to deliver Dawnguard and Hearthfire to the PS3 platform, too. In fact, a day before the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC arrived for Xbox LIVE, Bethesda mentioned in an update on their official blog by dropping hints that the DLC’s release date for the PS3 is early next year.

Bethesda mentioned, “We’re also happy to announce Dragonborn will be available on PS3 and PC early next year.” Does this mean we could be looking at a January 2013 release date? After all, PS3 owners have waited long enough, don’t you think so, to deserve an earlier release. Ah well, all we need now is to expend our patience for a wee bit more.

Skyrim Dragonborn Nord Christmas Tree Could Probably Handle the Cold Outside

These days Christmas trees come in all shapes and sizes. For Skyrim fans, this life-sized Dragonborn Nord tree (actually a statue decorated like a tree) is all they need.
skyrim christmas tree
This crazy statue/tree comes from Redditor Lanarchy, who spends way too much time running around in Skyrim and needed more of it in real life. In the future they will say, “I used to decorate my Dragonborn tree every year. Until I took an arrow to the knee.”

This Skyrim tree is the perfect centerpiece for a geeky Christmas. The little Yoda on his shoulder is a nice touch, despite having nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls. Or does he?

Bethesda: Work on Dawnguard and Hearthfire for PS3 to continue after Dragonborn

A few days ago we shared what seemed like good news that the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC would be arriving for the PlayStation 3 and PC come early 2013. While that’s great news for PS3 gamers who have had the short end of the stick when it comes to Skyrim DLCs, the question we’re sure many are wondering is when the previous two Skyrim DLCs will arrive on the PS3, if at all. After all given that it would seem like little progress has been made with Dawnguard and Hearthfire, we can’t blame PS3 gamers for thinking that the previous two DLCs are lost to them. The good news is that if you still have a hankering for Dawnguard and Hearthfire come 2013, Bethesda has announced that they will continue working on the previous two DLCs once Dragonborn has been released. Skyrim Dragonborn will be arriving on PS3 early 2013

Details of the upcoming Skyrim Dragonborn DLC was revealed yesterday, although we’re pretty sure that while Xbox 360 gamers might be pleased that the DLC will be making its way onto their consoles, PlayStation 3 gamers on the other hand might simply not be bothered. After all with Dawnguard and Hearthfire having to make their appearances on the PS3 console, why should Dragonborn be any different, right? Well the good news is that according to Bethesda, they have announced that the Dragonborn DLC will be making its way onto both the PC and the PS3 come early 2013.

No specific dates were provided, but presumably this is pretty good news for PS3 owners considering that for the previous two DLCs, Bethesda has either been keeping mum or have just been reassuring fans that they’re working to get it running on the PS3. We’re not sure what it is about the new DLC that will allow it to run on the PS3, but something is better than nothing, right? However if history is any indication, we’re pretty sure that PS3 gamers will adopt the “we’ll believe it until we see it” stance and we guess we’ll do the same for now, but do check back with us at a later date where hopefully additional details can be shared.

New Skyrim content for PS3 and PC is “close” according to Bethesda

A few days ago, the next Skyrim DLC, Dragonborn, was announced. According to its announcement, Xbox 360 gamers can expect to see the game released on the 4th of December, but unfortunately there is no word on when PlayStation 3 and PC gamers will be able to get their hands on it. Thanks to a recent tweet by Bethesda, “new Skyrim content” for the PlayStation 3 and PC is “close”, which unfortunately was all they were able to give us. Considering that Bethesda has yet to figure out how to get Dawnguard and Hearthfire up and running on the PlayStation 3, we can only hope that by including the PS3 in their tweet that perhaps they figured out how to get Dragonborn working at the very least. However given that this new content was not specified, there is the off-chance that they could be referring to previous DLCs and not necessarily Dragonborn. If the previous two DLCs are any indication, it looks like PS3 gamers of Skyrim should probably not get their hopes up just yet. We’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for more info regarding the DLC, so check back with us at a later date for the details!

Skyrim Dragonborn trailer revealed

Earlier this morning, we talked up Bethesda teasing us with hints of an upcoming DLC, and what you see above is the real deal – the latest Dragonborn DLC which will be part of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Dragonborn will see Elder Scrolls faithful return to the island of Solstheim, where it first made its debut in The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon. Dragonborn’s premise is simple – it concerns the very first Dragonborn. What you see is a mask to accompany this rather modest introduction, “He was once one of them, the Dragon Priest. He ruled here in their name, ruled over Solstheim, but he did not serve the dragons — he devoured them. And like them he seeks to return.”

The trailer shows off a range of new environments, enemies, as well as the much rumored ability (finally) mount a dragon as your ride. Solstheim will be very different from the other worlds in Skyrim, where you might get creeped out with Cthulhu-like monsters and demonic beings crawling all over the place.

Dragonborn seems destined to be a timed Xbox 360 exclusive, similar to its previous DLC, where it is tipped to arrive on Xbox Live this coming December 4th for 1600 MSP (the equivalent of $20). It should arrive on the PC a month after that, and PS3 fans might consider picking up the Xbox 360 for themselves this Christmas.

Dragonborn could be the next Skyrim DLC according to datamined files

While PlayStation 3 gamers have yet to get their hands on both the Dawnguard and the Hearthfire DLCs for Skyrim, it seems that Bethesda has another DLC planned and is known as Dragonborn. This is thanks to gamers who have datamined the update files which makes several references to “Dragonborn” and “DLC2”. The files also point towards dragon mounts, a Morrowind location and more. No word on when the Dragonborn DLC will be launched, although given Bethesda history with PlayStation 3 releases, it is safe to say that PlayStation 3 gamers probably should not hold their breaths for this one. As with the case with previous Skyrim DLCs, the Xbox 360 is also expected to call dibs on this DLC first before it makes its way onto the PC, and hopefully the PlayStation 3 although we’d much rather Bethesda work on Dawnguard and Hearthfire first. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, so check back with us at a later date for more updates!
