Uncle Makes His Nephew a Custom Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Cozy Coupe

Redditor tabres gets my vote for coolest uncle on the planet. Now it’s up to you other uncles to outdo him. This guy built his nephew a custom Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Cozy Coupe. It has flashing lights and a license plate and is everything a young Ghostbuster could want.

This kid is going to have some amazing adventures riding in this thing. Maybe this guy can build the kid a miniature Ghostbusters HQ next and get some neighbor kids to make up a new Ghostbusting team.

If you too want to be a good Uncle, you can make one of these yourself thanks to this full tutorial over at Imgur.

LEGO Is Making a Ghostbusters Set!

Can you believe that it has been 30 years this June since the release of Ghostbusters? Nowadays, we can’t imagine a world without them. LEGO likes them too and has agreed to produce video game artist Brent Waller’s LEGO set after it got over 10,000 supporters on LEGO Cuusoo.

That is amazing news for LEGO and Ghostbusters fans alike. However, it’s a good news, bad news kind of thing. Only the Ecto-1 and the minifigs are being made for now, not the awesome firehouse HQ.  Also, I’d doubt that the final version will light up like the awesome mockup shown here. Well, you can’t have everything.

At least we will have some kick ass Ghostbusters minifigs. Although Spengler does look a bit like Harry Potter, as others are saying. Still, it’s a win for geeks everywhere.

Now all we need is a Stay Puft marshmallow man set

Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Push Car is Paranormal

When Cory Newton-Smith made her son Cooper’s DeLorean push car last Halloween, she said that she would love to make epic costumes for her son every year. Fortunately for us, Cory and her husband Jeremy stuck to that promise. This year they dressed up Cooper as a Ghostbuster for Halloween. Naturally his push car had to go as Ecto-1.

Cory modified Cooper’s push car using “cardboard boxes repurposed from their recent move, spare electronics from an old vehicle, salsa cups from Mexican take-out, empty pop bottles, LEDs from the local electronics store, and some paint and tape.” Cory also bought felt replicas of the Proton Pack and Ghost Trap from Etsy shop owner Jezebel Rose. Cooper’s dad Jeremy also stepped up his game from last year. He installed LED lights and Bluetooth speakers that they can use to play the Ghostbusters theme and sound effects from a Windows Phone app.

Who You Gonna Call? The Littlest Ghostbuster and His Adorable Ecto-1

Who You Gonna Call? The Littlest Ghostbuster and His Adorable Ecto-1

Do you recognize Cooper? Probably not, because he’s a year older than the last time you saw him driving a tiny time-traveling DeLorean and wearing an adorable Marty McFly costume. This year, however, Cooper’s hitting the trick-or-treating circuit in a wonderful Ghostbusters getup complete with his trusty push car turned into an absolutely amazing miniature Ecto-1.

Dodge Magnum Ecto-1 Ghostbusters Car: What Ya Gonna Drive?

This is a far cry from the original Cadillac version of the ECTO-1, but this modern reinterpretation of the famous Ghostbusters car is not half bad. Though I think you could do better in an actual new Ghostbusters movie.

This modern version was built by the president of Colorado Movie Cars, Kevin Henry. It is a modern Dodge Magnum Wagon with all the rooftop gadgets that the original car had. Surprisingly, some of the parts are original since Henry was able to scavenge a few pieces from an original filmed version of the car.

As an added bonus, he even got Dan Aykroyd’s signature on the visor. This car ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts!
