Edifier S550 Encore multimedia system delivers a blast to your living room

edifier-s550-encoreI am quite sure that those of us who are on a rather tight budget and would love to maximize the value of our money would have heard of the brand Edifier before when it comes to audio systems. This time around, the folks over at Edifier have released its latest 5.1 multimedia system that is known as the S550 Encore. The Edifier S550 Encore claims to take audio to the next level, where it will boast of a couple of 10” super bass drivers that are capable of delivering 120 Watts each, resulting in ground shaking audio that your ears and invited friends to your party would definitely appreciate.

When you merge that with the 60 Watts from each of the 5 satellites, then the Edifier S550 Encore would end up producing an astonishing 540 Watts of audio output, now how about that? The wired remote comes with a display, where it would enable full control of input selection, volume, bass and treble adjustments, surround channel adjustment in addition to a 6-level volume boost. The 6-level volume boost function would enable listeners to push the S550 Encore beyond the maximum volume, which does make us wonder why place a faux limit on the maximum volume in the first place. Both DRC and DSP have been incorporated into the S550 Encore so that distortion is kept to a minimum, making this multimedia system ideal for home theater application, gaming or simply as a plug and play audio option. An asking price of $599.99 has been slapped onto the Edifier S550 Encore if you are interested.

Edifier e25 Luna Eclipse Bluetooth Speakers Unveiled

Edifier e25 Luna Eclipse Bluetooth Speakers UnveiledIf you’re in the market for a new set of speakers, perhaps Edifier might be a brand worth taking a look at. The company has recently unveiled a new set of speakers in the form of the e25 Luna Eclipse which is currently available for pre-order for $199. The speaker, as you can tell from the image above, is rather uniquely designed and does not look like your typical, boxy set of speakers, but a rather futuristic design which some might argue might eventually get “old”, but we guess that’s just a matter of preference.

The Luna Eclipse will come with Bluetooth connectivity, meaning that you should be able to pair it with devices that have Bluetooth, such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Each channel of the speaker will output 74 watts of power as well, meaning that it should pack something of a punch. The speakers will also come with a touch sensitive panel that will allow for switching between tracks and adjusting the volume, and will also come with a remote for convenience. The speakers have been set for a release on the 25th of November and will come in black or white finishes, although oddly enough the photos show a read finish as well.

    Edifier Extreme Connect portable speaker

The kids who grew up in the 1980s and spent their teens in that era, spilling over into the 1990s along the way, would certainly have heard of the boombox culture, or at least, participated in such a culture. It was a time when there were no distractions such as mobile phones, and neither do you need to worry about posting up photos of yourself in compromising positions and poses on a social network with no way of pulling those photos down afterwards. What about today? Street dancing has become a popular past time for many, and obviously, good music will need to be complemented by fantastic audio playback capability, which is what the Edifier Extreme Connect intends to do. The Edifier Extreme Connect is a powerful portable speaker system that delivers unparalleled audio clarity regardless of the environment it is in, including large indoor and outdoor spaces.

I guess in a nutshell, the Edifier Extreme Connect is best described to be an all-in-one portable solution for audio applications as well as hands-free phone conferencing, if the need arises. This particular system will be able to hook up (sans wires, of course) to any Bluetooth enabled device – be they smartphones, tablets and computers, where it is capable of streaming music, movies, games and phone calls. I strongly suspect that the primary use of the Edifier Extreme Connect would be for movies and music, and not so much to see it work as a conference call device.

It does not matter where your adventure takes you, as the Edifier Extreme Connect will come in a fully portable form factor, where its built-in rechargeable battery is said to boast of a non-stop audio playback time of up to 12 hours – I suppose that might even be longer than what your smartphone is able to handle. Other than that, it will also arrive with a microSD memory card slot to carry up to 32GB of media, supports USB streaming and has a 3.5 auxiliary port. You can pick it up in black, blue, red, yellow and gray shades for $99.99 a pop.

Well, you might want to check out the Edifier e1100 Predator speaker system for something that is slightly off the beaten path. Needless to say, the name of this might be Predator, but it seems to be all Alien to us instead, judging by the xenomorph-inspired chassis.

Thanks to the Edifier e1100 Predator’s angled satellites, they are said to enhance sound projection, with their passive radiators throwing in dynamic range. The subwoofer works great in delivering deep, even bass that is adjustable to individual tastes. You can hook up the e1100 Predator to any audio device using the 3.5mm auxiliary input, and it does seem as though the Edifier e1100 Predator is the ideal companion for gaming rigs, in an office, or just functioning as a home entertainment system.
