Soundmatters announces DASH7 Bluetooth speaker that is ultra thin

soundmatters-dash7When it comes to high quality portable speakers, there are many names out there in the market. The thing is, the selection process can be rather tricky – so why not pick one from Soundmatters? The name of the company itself is pretty self-descriptive, as Soundmatters was founded by former NASA engineer/audio legend Dr. Godehard Guenther. Recently, they announced that they will be shipping what is deemed to be the world’s slimmest, lightest high-fidelity Bluetooth Speaker, simply known as the DASH7.

The Soundmatters DASH7 happens to come in the form of an extremely flat 0.75” high wireless pocket-portable Bluetooth soundbar as well as speakerphone which will deliver huge omnidirectional sound despite coming in a thin size which will slide into the slimmest purse or jacket pocket. Is this the world’s best travel speaker? That remains to be seen, but frequent travelers who have given all sorts of different portable Bluetooth speakers a go in the past might want to check out the Soundmatters DASH7 and share their opinion on it.

Apart from that, the DASH7 will also feature a 5th generation twoofer and BassBattery for true hi-fi sound, where it is accompanied by an angled stand for direct on-axis high resolution music, which results in a great soundstage with the best stereo separation for serious music listeners. You will be able to pick it up in a choice of three colors – Vibrant Red, Arctic White, and Midnight Black.

The omnidirectional sound that it offers makes it ideal for watching movies or music videos, and it will also include a combo case and stand. The angled stand also offers even higher resolution on-axis listening, while there is a noise cancelling speakerphone that will allow you to answer incoming phone calls even while you are listening to music or movies. The asking price for the Soundmatters DASH7 stands at $249 a pop.

TapTap wristband helps you keep in touch with your loved ones

taptap-wristbandHave you heard of Woodenshark before? Well, here is a little bit of background information on them – they happen to be the creators of the TV ambient light system Lightpack, and have announced the launch of yet another Kickstarter campaign which will see the potential funding of TapTap by the masses. TapTap will come across as a wristband that was specially designed in order for one to keep in touch with your significant across a long distance.

How does TapTap work? For starters, TapTap will be able to sense your “taps”, where it will then instantly transmit them to the paired wristband that is worn by your other half. It does not matter how far away they are, even if they are separated by 10 time zones, they will still be able to experience a vibration when you tap on your TapTap. In a nutshell, the TapTap would be able to open up endless possibilities that will be able to see the creation of special signals that might go some ways to enrich your long-distance relationship.

TapTap also takes pride in its deliberate rejection of integration with social networks, which is something that is slightly different from what we have experienced these days. All communications are fully encrypted between paired TapTaps, so none of the information will be stashed away where someone else will be able to retrieve it later on.

Developers who are interested in the TapTap will be able to use open SDK and built-in sensors in order to create apps for TapTap, where among them include smart alarms, activity trackers and gesture controllers for gaming purposes. Some of the other apps such as RunKeeper are also supported out of the box. The TapTaps will obviously be sold in pairs for $130 per set, and can be delivered separately according to the color of your choice.

Mighty Purse merges both fashion and technology

mighty-purseThere is nothing quite like convergence technology falling into place together, as it brings together the conventional with the future. Case in point, the £84.99 Mighty Purse that would arrive in three shades to suit your fashion taste, Almond Brown, Black Shimmer and Gold Shimmer. The Mighty Purse has been described to be the “ultimate fusion of fashion and technology”, where it would be able to juice up your ever power hungry smartphone on the move without looking as though it was out of place, and will be compatible with all smartphones which hook up via micro USB as well as iPhones.

After all, most of us tend to carry smartphones with us these days, and as we all jolly well know, these smartphones might be big on features. Unfortunately, when it comes to their battery life, smartphones tend to disappoint as they are not exactly the longest lasting devices in the market. Having a portable charger could prove to be rather bulky, so why not merge it with something that you bring with you everywhere you go instead? That would make life a whole lot easier, don’t you think so? The integrated high-capacity battery is said to hold enough juice to recharge your smartphone by up to 2 times, while there is an internal 4-LED indicator that tells you just how much more juice it has left.

Archos Gamepad 2 is a tablet for gamers

Archos Gamepad 2
We’ve come a long way in the realm of gaming since the days of Pong. Whole worlds can be accurately displayed to us through the storyline and artwork in games. While we love the latest and greatest games that are coming out, the platform that we play them on is the only issue we face.

There are tons of options out there, each with their own pros and cons. You can play on PC, console, on handheld gaming platforms, or your tablet or phone. Of course, the latter are only capable of so much. However, there are always new ways to play, and the Archos Gamepad 2 is hoping to be the new kid on the block. It will provide you with a 7” HD screen, has a quad-core processor, and comes with 8 or 16Gb of space. There are dual thumb sticks, a D-pad, and abxy buttons. Of course, there are also shoulder buttons, and they boast having a ‘improved button click feeling for a better gaming experience’.

This obviously has a touchscreen, but is  huge improvement from smartphones which make you cover up the screen with your fingers to play. This runs on Android Jelly Bean, and both versions have a microSD slot that will allow for more storage. This will cost you around $200, and comes out at the end of this month.

Beard Trimmer with laser guide will have you looking prim and proper

Laser guide beard trimmer
Looking professional and acting professional go hand in hand. Of course, you need both to succeed, but dressing the part is often harder to keep up with. You can slap a smile on your face, but coming to work looking clean, and as though you’ve spent some measure of time on your appearance is much more difficult. It’s all in the little details, like having manicured nails, no wrinkled clothing, and well-kept hair can attribute to a well-put-together package.

Of course, going in for an actual manicure, getting your hair trimmed or shaved every few days or weeks, and having your clothing dry-cleaned and pressed can be a major burden on your wallet. So long as you go about things in the right way, you can do most of that at home for a relatively cheap amount. Of course, for the gentlefolk, shaving your facial hair can be a bit more of a challenge. The Norelco Beard Trimmer with laser guide is hoping to help with this aspect, so you can keep up with the Joneses.

This has a reversible trimmer, and won’t annihilate your face as you shave. There is an LED display that will let you choose your length, and 17 lock-in settings to pick from as well. You’ll also be able to tack on a beard or detail comb for whichever issue you face (on your face). The laser aspect is the same as a scope on a gun, helping you to hone in and take care of business with precision. It needs to charge for an hour to work for an hour, and is water-resistant for easy cleaning. This will set you back around $100, but would be better than going to a barber on the regular.

Iron Man ArtFX Statue does more than just stand pretty on your desk

iron-man-artfxIron Man is one superhero who is nothing but flesh and bone underneath that high tech suit, but he is also one of the coolest thanks to the brilliant mind of Tony Stark hiding behind the mask. Well, here we are with the $129.99 Iron Man ArtFX Statue that would arrive in the form of an extremely detailed Mark XLII armor, sporting LED lighting in the Arc Reactor/Unibeam, eyes, and repulsor areas. Of course, it goes without saying that this is an officially licensed Marvel collectible, so do not fret and wonder whether you are handing over good money for a bootlegged product.

Since it is the Mark XLII that we are talking about, it would make perfect sense (some might even call it, paying homage) that you would piece this particular Iron Man together from separate pieces. If you do not have any experience at all when it comes to building models, fret not, since it will not require such a skill set in the first place, and neither does it require you to implant computer chips into your forearms. All in all, there are just half a dozen pieces which have been pre-painted, and they would snap together in a rather satisfying manner. Hence, this is a “statue” and not a “model,” although you can be sure that it does straddle the lines on both territories at once. A trio of LR44 batteries are required to juice this puppy to have it looking nice on your mantel.

BOOM Movement unveils the SWIMMER portable Bluetooth speaker

boom-movement-swimmerWhen it comes to portable speakers, there are just way too many brands out there that it can get pretty difficult trying to differentiate one from the other. Well, the folks over at BOOM Movement might be able to present a rather strong case for themselves with the SWIMMER portable Bluetooth speaker. The SWIMMER portable Bluetooth speaker would arrive in an ultra-protective silicon skin that has been engineered with an IPX Level 7 rating. As mentioned earlier, there is a flexible tail attachment which allows this $59.99 Bluetooth speaker to loop itself securely around a paddle or handle bar, wrap around a wrist or belt loop, or simply to have it propped up on a desk or hang it from a notebook display. In any case, if you choose to remove the tail, it can be swapped out with an optional suction cup backing so that it can be stuck to a range of flat surfaces.

The SWIMMER portable Bluetooth speaker will be available in Gray/Teal, Blue/Gray, Red/Gray, Teal/Gray and White/Blue combination colors if you are interested. Not only that, when the suction cup attachment is in use, the SWIMMER would be able to produce an even louder, rumbling bass-bumping effect as it will play off of the surface that it is mounted to. Of course, the whole idea of having it arrive in a Bluetooth-friendly model is to let listeners enjoy a wireless connection.

Ballerina Tree makes for an interesting decoration piece

ballerina-treeThe Christmas season is one that is supposedly full of joy, and of course, you would do well to make sure that the overall feeling of festivities all around are adhered to with the right kind of food and snacks served, in addition to getting the mood up with the correct decoration – in the house, as well as outside of it. For those who want something different from the usual shebang when it comes to sprucing up the home with the Yuletide spirit, how about getting the $299.95 Ballerina Tree?

The Ballerina Tree happens to be a rotating 6′ Christmas tree which has been specially modeled after the classic jewelry box ballerina. This brings the best of both worlds together, where it delivers a whimsical take on a traditional indoor tree. Sporting some rather lifelike PVC branches as well as twigs which have been reimagined as a ballerina dancer’s long limbs, you can be sure that some of your more curious friends might even want to run their fingers through it as their brain tells them that it is the real deal. As for the green PVC pine needles, those have been fashioned into a tutu. The dancer’s bodice and skirt will arrive in a festive red tinsel, while the whole pre-lit display would radiate with the elegant light of 200 white LEDs. The lights themselves have been rated for 10,000 hours, so you know for sure that the Ballerina Tree is going to last you for a good many years down the road.
