Reevu has come up with what they call a commercially viable and fully functioning Intelligent Helmet, touted to be the first of its kind in the world to feature an internal augmented reality display that are well within the internationally accepted standards envelope. In fact, the folks over at Reevu are pretty stoked that this Intelligent Helmet will be different from majority of the proposed augmented reality systems that have made its way to the Internet, as this particular development will make the jump from the drawing board to our reality.

Just how did Reevu do this? Well, they do have the advantage of development engineers working on such a helmet, drawing from their technical know-how as well as using internationally registered patents in order to develop this internally housed augmented reality helmet device. Compact in form factor, the Multiple Reflective Optical Systems (or M.R.OP.S for short) is also one of the inventions that makes this fully functioning helmet possible, allowing it to deliver information without any kind of eye strain or unnecessary distraction to the wearer. Not only that, it has been touted that this particular invention is able to be integrated so that it can accept a range of current diagnostic and information enabling systems which are linked to the cluster pack of some of the latest bike designs at the moment.

It has it’s own light source, so all you need to do is open the app, place the Nix against whatever color you’re wanting to keep track of, and hit scan. The app will give you the precise color, let you take down notes with each scan, choose what the paint will be for (makeup, interior wall paint, automotive), and will help you pick brand and the nearest location to pick it up. This is a huge time-saver, and will only cost around $99. Considering the use it would see in the right hands, this is a pretty reasonable price point. It looks as though it charges via mini-USB, but there’s no mention as to how long or frequently you would need to charge it.

LG Electronics has announced a brand new speaker system which will boast a minimalist design while offering a huge audio boost to your home entertainment center, calling it the LG SoundPlate. Having revealed at CEDIA 2013, the LG SoundPlate, carrying the model number LAP340, is said to help usher in a new generation of home theater audio systems and it has been optimized for today’s flat-panel HDTVs.

Jay Vandenbree, senior vice president, home entertainment, LG Electronics USA, said, “The tradeoff for the ultra thin TV design has been smaller speakers, which has led to a surge in demand for supplementary home audio devices. We’re augmenting our already robust line of soundbars with the LG SoundPlate to give consumers yet another alternative for powerful home entertainment sound in a compact, attractive design.” So that’s how we know where they are coming from.

The LG SoundPlate will work its magic by providing high-quality audio while maintaining an aesthetic that is minimally obtrusive. It has a profile of just 1-3/8 inches (35 millimeters) high, but do not be fooled as the LG SoundPlate will come equipped with a robust 4.1 channel sound system that is complete with dual built-in subwoofers.

Apart from that, there is also a 120W output that has been boosted by a unique internal structure alongside LG’s proprietary acoustic tuning system, making it easier for everyone to hear dialog and other discrete sounds whenever they are watching TV shows or movies. Not just content with that, the LG SoundPlate will also feature LG’s Bass Port system that helps lower harmful vibrations from within the speaker enclosure.

When set to LG’s Cinema Mode, it will optimize the LAP340′s surround sound capabilities, resulting in an immersive field of multidirectional audio.
