Every healthy woman on the planet, that is of child-bearing age, gets a
special visit from mother nature (or at least her evil twin sister) once
a month. While every woman has a different method for coping with a
guest that’s welcome on principle alone, there are a few things that
every woman requires or appreciates. One unique business wants to ensure
that women embrace their monthly guest, and they do that by ensuring
that she shows up with a hostess gift.

Cuddling is typically considered an intimate act, reserved for couples,
parents and children, and perhaps close friends. But cuddling has many
benefits to our well-being, physically and emotionally, and individuals
that don’t have a designated cuddle buddy miss out on them. That’s why
some very people-friendly entrepreneurs have carved out a new industry.

With the Christmas season behind us, and the new year here, it’s time to
look at the coolest businesses that helped make the holidays magical
this year. Take note because these businesses made for a successful 2013
holiday season, and might just help make it a little more merry and
bright when it rolls around again in 2014. And what better time to think
about Christmas businesses than now – as we cross the threshold into
the no longer appropriate to have a tree up, or lights on –  territory. 

While the blogosphere spawned thousands upon thousands of writers who in
many instances lacked the opportunity to write for legacy publishers,
ironically the major criticism levied against them came from those
traditionalists. Traditionalists who critiqued bloggers as less worthy
of acclaim because they were not vetted by the established press.
Traditionalists, the likes of noted playwright Aaron Sorkin who agreed
with Sarah Palin when their combined condescension labeled them, "pajama people."

Those of us with pets are aware that they live pretty cushy lives. They
spend their days basking in the sun, chasing squirrels while out for
walks, and barking when someone comes to the door. The average dog has
few responsibilities – all we expect of them is to be semi-obedient and
do their business outside. One company believes that dogs should play
bigger roles when it comes to the maintenance of their households than
simply licking fallen crumbs off the floor.
