Canon EOS 7D MK II Rumored For CP+ Announcement

Canon EOS 7D MK II Rumored For CP+ AnnouncementWe have been hearing rumors that Canon could be looking to launch a successor to its Canon EOS 7D camera, and while the rumors have been floating about for a couple of years, we have yet to see anything from Canon just yet, but could 2014 finally be the time that Canon takes the wraps off the device? Perhaps. Or perhaps not, but if the latest rumors are to be believed, word on the street has it that canon will be announcing the camera at the CP+ show in Japan which is taking place a little before MWC 2014 and will run from the 13th of February until the 16th of February 2014. Given that CP+ is a camera/photography related event, we expect camera companies such as Canon might take the opportunity to announce something then.

Based on what we know about the EOS 7D MK II so far is that it could sport either a 20MP or a 24MP Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor as Canon has reportedly not finalized its specs yet (at that time). It could also feature an AF system similar to that of the EOS 5D MK III with 61-points, along with a shooting speed of 10-12fps. It is also rumored to sport a weather-sealed body, a Dual DIGIC V+ processor, and GPS connectivity, all of which will be priced around $2,000. Admittedly this isn’t much to go on at the moment, but hopefully more details will emerge as we get closer to CP+ 2014, so be sure to check back with us then for the details, until then do take it with a grain of salt.

Canon EOS 7D MK II Not Arriving Anytime Soon? [Rumor]

Canon EOS 7D MK II Not Arriving Anytime Soon? [Rumor]Over the past year or so, we have been hearing vague rumors about the Canon EOS 7D’s successor, the EOS 7D MK II. However interestingly enough, the folks at Canon Rumors have received a tip in which the tipster claims that a EOS 7D MK II will not be arriving anytime soon, if it hasn’t been completely shelved. Canon Rumors notes that this particular piece of rumor seems a little odd, especially based on what Canon has been saying recently, not to mention we have seen leaked spec sheets and how the camera has been rumored for a 2014 announcement.

In any case perhaps the camera has not been completely shelved, but perhaps it has merely been taken back to the drawing board for a variety of reasons. In the past we have seen how Sony’s new president has decided to put a halt on camera models that were merely updates to existing models in favor of releasing more groundbreaking products instead, so perhaps Canon could be doing something similar, especially in the competitive space that is the camera market. Either way take this rumor with a huge grain of salt for now, but do check back with us for more updates!

Alleged Canon EOS 7D MK II Spec Sheet Leaked

Alleged Canon EOS 7D MK II Spec Sheet LeakedThe Canon EOS 7D MK II camera has been rumored for some time now, although at this point in time there has been nothing to suggest that Canon will be announcing the device in the near future, but thanks to a recently leaked spec sheet, it seems that the specs of Canon EOS 7D MK II have been revealed. The alleged spec sheet does corroborate what we have heard in the past, but given that the device has yet to be officially confirmed, take it with a grain of salt for now. So what can photographers look forward to in the EOS 7D MK II?

Well for starters the camera is rumored to sport either a 20MP or 24MP sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF. It seems that Canon has yet to finalize on a sensor which is why it is a toss up between either sensor for now. It will also feature an AF system similar to the EOS 5D MK III with 61-points, a high frame rate between 10-12fps, high-grade weather sealing, a Dual DIGIC V+ processor, WiFi and GPS connectivity, and will be priced around $2,000. It will also apparently offer “very good” ISO performance along with “innovative” video features and is rumored for a possible announced in March 2014. Like we said this is hardly the official spec list so take it with a grain of salt for now, but photographers what do you guys think? Are these specs a worthy of an EOS 7D successor?

Canon EOS 7D MK II Specs Have Yet To Be Finalized [Rumor]

Canon EOS 7D MK II Specs Have Yet To Be Finalized [Rumor]

We’ve been hearing a fair bit of Canon EOS 7D MK II rumors for quite a while now, and thanks to the folks at Canon Rumors, they have received a tip from a source with regards to additional information about the upcoming device. While we’ve seen the specifications in leaks, the recent tip from their source has revealed that these specifications are actually far from complete, suggesting that perhaps Canon has yet to settle on a final list of specifications for the device.

However their source goes on to “confirm” that it will sport the same 20.2MP sensor as the EOS 70D, along with Dual Pixel AF and built-in GPS. Interestingly enough it seems that there is no WiFi in the EOS 7D MK II at the moment, which is odd given that WiFi seems to be a pretty common feature these days in cameras, even in some low-end ones as well. Since the spec list is supposedly not final, we’re guessing it is possible that WiFi could be included in the final product, although that is just speculation at this point in time. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but with the EOS 7D MK II rumored for a 2014 launch, here’s hoping we’ll be getting some more concrete specs along the way.

Canon EOS 7D MK II Might Only Be Announced In 2014 [Rumor]

Canon EOS 7D MK II Might Only Be Announced In 2014 [Rumor]We reported last year that the Canon EOS 7D MK II could be announced in February of 2013, although given that we’re already in May, it’s safe to say that the camera has yet to be officially revealed. However according to a rumor from the folks at Canon Rumors, they claim to have been tipped off by one of their sources that it seems that the EOS 7D MK II will not be announced in 2013, but will instead be announced in 2014 instead, and that the only DSLR still on track from Canon would be the EOS 70D. We’re not sure what’s up with the delay, but then again since it was a rumor to begin with, it’s a bit hard to be bummed out by a camera that may or may not even exist!

We’ve come across its alleged leaked specs in the past, which according to the rumors then, the camera would come with a 21MP APS-C sensor, Full HD video recording, GPS and WiFi connectivity, 100% viewfinder, better weather sealing and more. However since the camera is rumored for a 2014 release, we wonder if Canon has any plans to make changes to those specs from now until then.

Alleged Canon EOS 7D MK II Test Camera Specs Revealed

Alleged Canon EOS 7D MK II Test Camera Specs RevealedThe Canon EOS 7D MK II is expected to be announced sometime in the future, when exactly remains unknown. However for those looking forward to hearing more about the successor to the EOS 7D, the folks at Northlight have managed to get their hands on what seems like alleged specifications of said camera. Keep in mind that these are alleged specs and might not necessarily be the real thing, so approaching it with a hint of skepticism will probably go a long way preventing yourself from being disappointed.

So what are we looking at here? Well if the specs are right, the EOS 7D MK II will feature a 21MP APS-C sensor, an ISO range from 100-25,000, 10fps shooting, Full HD video capture with manual control, a single CF card slot, 19 AF points, phase detection for liveview and AF tracking, a 100% viewfinder, a 3.2” LCD display, GPS and WiFi connectivity and an alloy body with better weather sealing compared to the EOS 7D. These are somewhat believable specs but like we said, we cannot confirm them at the moment. However for those looking forward to the EOS 7D MK II, what do you guys think?
