This piñata is about 12 inches across and comes with a pre-cut hinged flap to load it with treats. After that it is just a matter of beating the tar out of this thing and releasing that sweet candy. Best of all, you don’t even need to fly into its trench to destroy it.

This awesome sugar holder is made by Outofthisworldpinata and will cost you $35(USD). It takes about a week to make, but just a few minutes for your kids to demolish it.

Scrap Metal Predator: Scrap Metal Aliens Don’t Stand a Chance

This awesome scrap metal Predator was made by Etsy artist zMaiusz of Vietnam. It looks pretty badass and even comes with its own shoulder cannon and removable knife.

It is made from all kinds of bits of scrap metal including nuts, bolts, and a spark plug. I see a lot of screws too and some pieces of bike chain. It is all welded together with a lot of detail. This guy measures 11.4″ x 8.7″ x 4″ and weighs about 3 lbs.

There are several other cool scrap metal creations available in his shop besides this Predator. There are dragons and Aliens and other cool creations. This guy is only $63(USD), and he’d look great on your desk. At least until he activates his cloaking device and runs off.

Star Wars Death Star Grinder: Weapon of Herb Destruction

The Death Star isn’t all about destroying Alderaan. This space station will destroy herbs with the same massive power. It is the ultimate power in the universe and in your kitchen. Etsy seller Pyroteeze makes these so that you can easily and geekily grind up your herbs when cooking (or getting baked).

Each mini Death Star is made from non toxic polymer clay, and antiqued with a light black acrylic paint. The grinder measures about 2.5 inches across, which is a little smaller than a baseball. Both halves are held shut with a magnet that allows it to roll without falling apart. I also has a spot on the bottom that allows it to sit and not roll everywhere.

It will cost you $22(USD) and is totally worth it. After all, not everyone has a Death Star in their kitchen drawer.

Awesome Headphones for Gamers and Geeks: See Me, Hear Me…

There are a million and one headphones on the market, so how do you decide which ones to buy? Well, you could pick them just on the basis of how they sound and fit your hear, but that would be boring. Why not pick your next pair of ‘phones strictly on the way they look, then worry about those other factors later?

You can choose from a wide variety of headphones over at their Etsy shop, ranging from a Legend of Zelda design to Super Mario Bros., Portal, Adventure Time, Doctor Who, and more.

Gorgeous Typography Puzzles Will Teach Kids the Dangers of Comic Sans

The fact of the matter is, if you don’t teach your kids about the dangers of using Comic Sans when they’re young, they’re just going to pick it up on the street. Whether it’s a flyer for a garage sale, or a bulletin board at their preschool, the world is a minefield of terrible typography, and you need to address the issue with your young’ns before it becomes a problem.

Serenity Made from a CD-Rom Drive: Shiny!

You can’t take the sky from me. But if you have a spare CD-Rom drive you can try to make a miniature Serenity ship like this one from Daniel Shankalonian, but it wouldn’t turn out nearly as good I’m sure.

serenity1magnify

He built this little ship using parts from a CD-ROM Drive and bits of an old Dell computer. I love all of the little details. These are handmade, so they take about a week to complete and the design might vary slightly based on the parts available, but I really like what I see here.

Daniel has many other cool recycled items in his shop, including that cool Batman Tumbler made from old PlayStation 2s.

Pretty cool. However, you better hurry if you want some. The last day to order for Halloween delivery is October 18th. I bet you don’t have these in your LEGO collection.
