VIP Asia 2013 In Seoul: Photo Gallery And Overview

VIP Asia 2013 In Seoul: Photo Gallery And OverviewA few weeks ago, I was in Seoul, South Korea, to attend VIP Asia Awards 2013, an event held in the Seoul Ritz Carlton by Aving, a Korean media company known for its industry events coverage worldwide. I’ve known them for many years and this time Ubergizmo was a media partner to promote the event (like we do with MWC or IFA), but I was also invited to talk about wearable technologies (WT) on behalf of Ubergizmo at the ceremony. This is a topic that we truly excited by at Ubergizmo and the audience made up of Korean executives seemed very attentive at what could be the next boom in consumer technology. (more…)

Polycom RealPresence in the new Anybots Q(X) Virtual Presence

Polycom RealPresence in the new Anybots Q(X) Virtual Presence

David Rogan, CEO, Anybots with the new Anybots Q(X)

Last week I was invited to Polycom’s annual Holiday event where the Anybots Q(X) Virtual Presence was shown for the first time. We all remember Anybots cute QB robot that featured a very small display and 2 big “eyes” where the camera was hidden.

The new Q(X) is going away from the human-like shape and features a relatively austere form factor; however we can appreciate the large display that delivers a better telecommunication experience. Anybots partnered with Polycom to integrate its RealPresence Group 500 video conferencing solution in a metallic gray flat panel on wheels (see photo in the complete article, wheels are not visible).

THANK YOU! Digital Fall 2013 Was Amazing, And We Have A Winner

THANK YOU! Digital Fall 2013 Was Amazing, And We Have A WinnerOn September 30, we held the Ubergizmo Digital Fall 2013 party, which was co-produced with Stained Glass Labs, as the closing party of the Glazed conference. Digital Fall 2013 was held in a night club in San Francisco, and featured a Tech Fashion Show with a lot of wearable devices being shown on the runaway. During the evening, attendees were able to wow us with their own wearable devices and “I’ve never seen so many pairs of Google Glass” was a common piece of feedback from our guests. We would like to thank Lenovo for sponsoring the event.

Talking about Lenovo, we’re glad to announce that Jeff I. from Tennessee is the winner of the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop giveaway – he’s pretty excited right now! There were about 400 entries and Jeff was selected using random.org. (more…)

Join us for Engadget Live in San Francisco on December 5th!

Having just wrapped up Engadget Expand New York earlier this month, and with CES fast approaching, you’d think our Events team would take a breather. Fortunately for those of you in the City By the Bay, we can’t stop ourselves from putting on a show!

On December 5th, we’re heading to Temple Nightclub in San Francisco for Engadget Live (formerly known as Engadget + gdgt Live). While we may have a new name for the event, we’ll be celebrating the 5th anniversary of the first gdgt Meetup taking place right there in San Francisco.

Engadget Live is a unique event that isn’t a conference or tradeshow — it’s designed to bring gadget lovers and tech brands together in a fun environment where they can get to know each other a little better. Best of all, it’s free!

We’ll also have plenty of incredible tech brands at Engadget Live ready to show you their newest products and get your feedback on the spot. Speaking of products, we’ll also have tons of great swag and chances to win some amazing gear. Just look out for the flyer at the door to find out how to win.

Since music is a key part of the vibe in San Francisco, our friends at Western Digital are bringing its Creative Masters friend Mikel Paris to perform throughout the night.

Did we mention the event is FREE? Grab a ticket and don’t be shy about passing on the good word to your friends.

One more thing: If you want to be a part of the behind-the-scenes action at Engadget Live, we could use a few volunteers at the event. To learn more and to apply, head over to the volunteer form.
