Hello, what’s this? While many of us were out enjoying the spring weather, @evleaks was busy posting photos of an unknown LG smartphone that, if real, represents a notable shift in the Korean company’s design language. The device shares the Nexus 4‘s slightly curvy outline and lack of front-facing hardware buttons, but appears to have a taller screen, a new speaker grille and a different sensor layout. It’s not very likely to be part of the Nexus program with that conspicuous LG logo at the front, but there are few other clues as to where it would fit in LG’s phone family — is it an Optimus G sequel, an Optimus LTE2 follow-up, or something entirely fresh? We may well see more of this mystery hardware in the near future, though, and there’s already a close-up of the top bezel to be found after the break.

Remember the M4? We’ve seen glances of a spec sheet, but now we get to see how it’s going to look. Courtesy of @evleaks, we can now tell it’s looking good. After the critically-acclaimed One, the company looks to be sharing its style tips around — at a glance the M4 appears almost identical to the HTC flagship, although the camera flash has been relocated to the center of the device and there’s a few less micro-drilled speaker holes. Running over the leaked specs, you can expect a smaller 4.3-inch screen at 720p resolution and possibly a cheaper build to the unibody beauty that leads HTC’s smartphone family.

There’s likely to be a dual-core processor, LTE-capable radio and 16GB of storage too. There’s better news, with the UltraPixel-packing 4-megapixel camera sensor rumored to make its way into the middleweight phone, although initial leaks pointed to a 13-megapixel sensor. The phone is said to be appearing later this quarter, but we’re still waiting on official word (and that all-important price) before we get too excited. But hey, it worked for Samsung.

Want a glimpse of what LG may have in store for the US market come the first of May? Chances are this latest render (pictured above) from @evleaks could very turn out to be AT&T’s Optimus G Pro variant. From the looks of things, not much has changed design-wise since we reviewed the 5.5-inch global model, with the removable, high-gloss backplate still sporting that sub-surface pattern first introduced on the Optimus G. Even the arrangement of the rear camera, flash and speaker appear to have remained the same — the only noticeable difference is the AT&T globe situated none too subtly below. Whether or not LG’s reworked its internals remains to be seen, but with the event now less than a week away, we’ll have all the answers soon enough.

We’ve heard about the thinner, lighter and better variant of the Nokia Lumia 920 that Verizon is expected to get and now we get a look of what it’ll look like. Probably. Another day, another @evleaks leak. This time it’s a pair of official product shots of the ZTE V987 we saw back in January, and apparently the official name here is the Grand X Quad — not quite as elegant-sounding as the more powerful Grand S, perhaps. That’s pretty much it from the mysterious leakster, but thanks to TENAA’s database, we already know most of the specs from last time: 5-inch 720p gapless display, 1.2GHz quad-core chip, 8-megapixel camera, dual-SIM support (WCDMA plus GSM) and a removable 2,500mAh battery. Assuming this Grand X Quad will be sold cheaper, we’d imagine it’d do pretty well if it features the same build quality as its sister device — we’ll let you guys know once we get to do a hands-on, naturally.

Update: Well this is weird. It turns out that ZTE’s been very quietly selling this budget phone for ¥1,699 or about $270 in China since late February, though availability is very limited by the looks of it. No wonder ZTE didn’t even bother with a press release.
