Fallout 3 Vault Boy Bobbleheads: S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Collectibles

Bethesda has released replicas of some of the Vault Boy Bobbleheads that you can collect in Fallout 3. Fortunately you won’t have to look far and wide for the figurines. Unfortunately they won’t increase your stats. You’ll just have to find another way to be better at Energy Weapons.

Each figurine stands 5″ tall including the base and is made of PVC.

DIY Fallout Yes Man Will Help You Accomplish So Much, Whether It Wants to or Not

Reddit dweller Webberley made an action figure of Yes Man, the Claptrap of the Fallout universe. Webberley made the action figure out of cardboard, wood, plastic and various parts from other action figures. His arms, for example, were from a Dr. Octopus action figure.

Vault 101 Sneakers Help You Sneak Past Mutants, Won’t Protect You from Radiation

One of my favorite video game franchises is Fallout. If you are a fan of the game, you will appreciate the latest product from Bethesda Softworks called Vault 101 Sneakers. They are also known as Vault-Tec Item 72778011-101.

vaultec sneakers 2 620x504magnify

Created by Tweak Footwear, these Fallout sneakers have the blue and yellow colors that are so popular for those locked away inside the vaults. They are covered in blue suede leather with yellow trim, which is guaranteed to bleed if you get them wet or expose them to high doses of radiation. The shoes also feature a molded EVA sock liner for durability, but does nothing to reduce your chances of contamination.

The Vault 101 sneakers are offered in sizes from 7 up to 14. Girls who want a pair need to subtract two from their size since they are men’s sizes.

The shoes are officially licensed Fallout merchandise and are available now for $84.99(USD) per pair from ThinkGeek or the Bethesda Store.

Fallout 4 Teaser Website Reveals New Message; Counting Down To Dec. 11

Bethesda has been strongly hinting at a Fallout-related reveal for the past few weeks, with the latest tease coming in the form of a mysterious message found on an equally mysterious website simply known as The Survivor 2299. It looks as though The Survivor 2299 isn’t done with their teasing as a new message has just been released. (more…)

Bethesda Has Nothing To Announce At The Spike TV VGX

Bethesda Has Nothing To Announce At The Spike TV VGXIf you were hoping that Bethesda will be making an announcement at the upcoming Spike TV VGX this weekend, prepare to be disappointed. This is according to a tweet made by Bethesda’s Pete Hines who wrote, “I am not going to VGX. Bethesda is not showing/talking about anything at VGX. Just some PR meetings in LA. Take deep breaths.” This is without doubt a huge disappointment for gamers who were hoping that Bethesda would be making some kind of Fallout announcement during the event. After all the company had unveiled Skyrim during the Spike TV VGAs (before it was changed to VGX), so it wouldn’t be a stretch for them to announce something new this year.

Rumors of Fallout 4 have been circling for a while now, although it was recently with the launch of a mysterious “The Survivor 2299” website that fueled speculation that a Fallout 4 announcement was imminent. Additional updates all seemed to make reference to previous Fallout games and the franchise in general. However the countdown clock on the website did not line up with the Spike TV VGX, leading some to believe that perhaps the website could be a hoax, especially since you can register a website under a different name, not necessarily your real one. Either way there is still a slim chance that the countdown clock could point to a separate announcement, but in the meantime we suggest you not get your hopes up just yet.

Fallout 4 Trademarked In Europe By Bethesda

Fallout 4 Trademarked In Europe By BethesdaAs last week came to a close, we brought you word that Bethesda had already launched a teaser website, leading many to believe that Fallout 4 is imminent. The Fallout series had proven themselves to be extremely popular among gamers, leaving an open ended way for you to “build” your character in the way you like it, offering a way to complete the game in a myriad of ways. Well, we are more than pleased to bring you word that Bethesda had already trademarked Fallout 4 in Europe, although we are left scratching our heads as to why Bethesda had only decided to apply for this trademark recently, despite having the property under their care and guidance for years.

This particular trademark, having been made known so close after we were treated to the appearance of a teaser website, will most probably be connected to one another. This will most probably mean that Fallout 4 is indeed in the pipeline, and you can be more or less sure that the game will be a hit when it finally arrives. It would then be time to say hello to sleepless nights, and goodbye to your social life! What would you like to see introduced in Fallout 4 that you missed in its previous three iterations?

Intergalactic Exchange Bureau Converts Your Federation Credits into Simoleons

Ever wondered how much money in video games and science fiction movies would be worth in our world? Well, thanks to the Intergalactic Exchange Bureau, you can now convert between a number of fictitious currencies.

    intergalactic exchange bureau

Developed as a promotional stunt by Money in Advance, the Intergalactic Exchange Bureau can convert currencies from Star Wars, Star Trek, Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire and a couple of others. Whether you’re paying in Gold dragons, Septims, Creds, or Galactic Credits, you’re covered. Though don’t try and pay in Rupees. They don’t take Rupees.

Of course, they didn’t have actual exchange rates to work from, and they came up with their own estimates based on their independent assessment of the value of objects in the various fictional universes. That said, real-world currency relationships were based on actual market values. Though what the price of frozen concentrated orange juice in New York has to do with the price of lightsabers in the Dagobah system, I don’t know.

Happy Fallout Monopoly Birthday to You

When it’s your wife’s birthday, you don’t just give her a present you buy from the store. You make her a present that she can’t get anywhere else, because it’s her birthday and you want to make her happy and wow her with your creativity and thoughtfulness.

That’s not a generally-applied rule, of course, but it’s one that Reddit contributor XsimonbelmontX aka Brandon apparently lives by. Brandon knew that his wife’s favorite video game was Fallout. So he set out to create a customized and one-of-a-kind Fallout version of Monopoly.

    fallout monopoly

He painted over a regular Monopoly board and added Fallout-inspired locations, replacing the coveted Boardwalk property with Tenpenny Tower. Instead of paper money, the official currency is a range of bottle caps, from a $1 Nuka-Cola Quartz up to a $500 Sunset Sarsaparilla Star piece.

    Fallout Monopoly1

The game pieces received a makeover, too. Brandon melted a bunch of superhero and Army men action figures to create Liberty Prime. The Pip-Boy figure, meanwhile, required over 20 different plastics to put together.

    Fallout Monopoly2

Even the ‘Chance’ and ‘Community’ cards weren’t left untouched, as Brandon created new Vault-Tec cards to add a number of twists and turns that a typical game of Monopoly wouldn’t normally have. But then again, there’s nothing typical about this game.

    fallout monopoly cards

Obviously, Brandon’s wife loved it. She posted a comment on Reddit, saying: “This is the best present I have ever (and probably will ever) receive.”

Guys, the bar has been raised yet again.

Lego Pip-Boy 3000 Is Absolutely Gorgeous

Lego Pip Boy 3000 Is Absolutely GorgeousWith the right number and kinds of Lego bricks, an overactive imagination, as well as plenty of time for execution, you know for sure that humankind can come up with some rather zany Lego “inventions”, and heck, there are even Lego-based theme parks to boot in this world. Well, Simon Liu must have had spent plenty of time behind the computer playing Fallout and its sequels in the past, which was why he decided to use his talent and some Lego bricks to come up with a working Lego Pip-Boy 3000.

The “Pip” in Pip-Boy 3000 stands for “Personal Information Processor” just in case you were wondering, where it functions as the the player’s Heads Up Display (HUD) in the games that Bethesda delivered in the past, namely Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. This Lego replica looks terrifyingly like the real deal, where it comes with a display and an FM radio, in addition to lights that can be manipulated thanks to the Lego knobs that are located on the left side of the unit.

We’ve seen a couple of DIY Pip-Boy 3000s that used the case of the Pip-Boy clock collectible to make a faithful replica. But Flickr user Simon Liu aka Si-MOCs chose a more complex process, using his LEGO building skills to create what he calls the Pip-Boy3000Si.

Simon didn’t provide any details about his replica’s construction, but as you’ll see in the video below it has a working display. Simon also said that it has an FM radio.

Here’s a side quest for you, vault dweller: find Simon’s Flickr page and you’ll be rewarded with three high resolution pictures of the Pip-Boy 3000Si.
