Fallout 4 Will Not Be Announced At E3 2014

Fallout 4 Will Not Be Announced At E3 2014With the popularity of the Fallout franchise, safe to say that there has been a lot of Fallout 4-related rumors in the past couple of years. Back in 2013 the Fallout 4 trademark was filed, and there was even a teaser website which turned out to be a fake. So what’s the deal? Could we be looking forward to a Fallout 4-related announcement soon?

Well it seems like we weren’t the only ones thinking about it, especially with E3 2014 around the corner. One gamer posted the question to Bethesda’s Pete Hines, asking if E3 could be when Fallout 4 be announced. The bad news is that if you were hoping that was the case, prepare to be disappointed.

Hines has since replied in the negative, stating that not only does Bethesda not pre-announce their announcements, but that if you were hoping to hear announcements from Bethesda Games Studio, you’d be in for a wait as it looks like the studio has nothing new to announce for now. Sure, some might think maybe Hines is playing coy, but it was back in February that Bethesda’s head, Todd Howard, stated that they don’t have a timeframe for their next announcement, so it looks like that sentiment will be holding true.

Just like Valve’s Half-Life 3, Bethesda’s Fallout 4 has been eluding gamers for quite a while now, so it is understandable that many gamers are starting to get a bit impatient and want to hear something concrete. In any case E3 will probably be packed full of other announcements, so if Fallout 4 is not in the cards, perhaps something else will be.

Fallout 4 Could Be In The Works, According To Leaked Casting Call Documents

Fallout 4 Could Be In The Works, According To Leaked Casting Call DocumentsWe know many gamers were disappointed to find out that the Fallout 4 website turned out to be a hoax, and according to its creator, the goal was to force Bethesda’s hand to reveal something official, which unfortunately did not happen. However for Fallout fans, fret not because it does not appear to be the end as new documents sent to Kotaku have suggested that Fallout 4 is indeed in the works and could be set in Boston as it was previously rumored.

The documents sent were from a casting call for a project that was given the “Institute” codename, and while it does not mention Fallout specifically, there are several references made in the script and the location that has led Kotaku to believe that this could be Fallout 4-related, not to mention the casting director has also worked on other Bethesda games in the past, such as Dishonored and Skyrim.

However without Bethesda actually announcing anything, it’s hard to say if this casting call is indeed for a Fallout 4 game. However given the casting call, it would suggest that the game could be in its early stages of development, which could explain why Bethesda has not said anything yet. Either way try not to get your hopes up just yet, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info.

Fallout 4 Website Creator Hoped His Stunt Would Force Bethesda To Reveal Their Hand

Fallout 4 Website Creator Hoped His Stunt Would Force Bethesda To Reveal Their HandAs gamers might have heard by now, the mysterious Fallout 4 website turned out to be a hoax and an elaborate prank. On the surface it might seem that the creator of the website might simply be trolling the gaming community simply because he could, but as it turns out his intentions while a little mean, were somewhat good as the goal of the fake website was to force Bethesda’s hand into revealing something about the franchise, such as to either deny that it was being worked on flat out, or to reveal that they have nothing to announce yet, which is good news as it could mean that the game is in development.

This was according to the prankster’s Reddit AMA where he wrote, “I wanted to force Bethesda to reveal something during VGX, and bring [the Reddit] Fallout community together (for at least 3 weeks). Unfortunately, this plan failed.” While he failed to force Bethesda to do anything, he did reveal that Bethesda got in touch with him and warned him about the potential backlash he might face from creating the fake website. In fact had it not been for Bethesda’s intervention, the prankster would have released a fake CGI trailer which would undoubtedly cause many to fall for it.

At the end of the day, however, he admitted that it was a pretty mean-spirited prank, with him concluding, “I know I’m a douche.”

Fallout 4 Website Turns Out To Be Fake

Fallout 4 Website Turns Out To Be FakeBad news folks, if you were hoping for Fallout 4 to be announced in the near future, prepare to be disappointed. It turns out that the website, The Survivor 2299, was revealed to be an elaborate hoax pulled off by someone of the Fallout community. However given the complexity of the hoax, such as updating it with morse code that made references to the game, we guess it can’t be helped that many bought into it. The website was launched back in November and shortly after, the Fallout 4 trademark was filed, although the trademark was soon disproved and turned out to be a fake. At that point there were many who were speculating that the website was a fake, but the constant updates gave fans hope that Bethesda might announce something after the Spike TV VGX.

The Spike TV VGX will be taking place this weekend and shortly before, Bethesda’s Pete Hines revealed that the company had nothing to announce then, although the website’s countdown to the 11th of December had some believing that we could be seeing a post-Spike TV VGX announcement. A message was left by the prankster, which reads, “Don’t hate bethesda, hate me. That’s all. I really hope you’ll get a real Fallout 4 soon, guys.” So there you have it guys, it turns out the entire thing was too good to be true after all. Will we be seeing a Fallout 4? That’s hard to say, but Bethesda has promised that they will be “making more noise” later this year, but we guess it will not be with a Fallout 4 announcement. Either way stayed tuned and we’ll keep you guys updated with any future announcements or teasers that might come our way!

Fallout 4 Teaser Website Reveals New Message; Counting Down To Dec. 11

Bethesda has been strongly hinting at a Fallout-related reveal for the past few weeks, with the latest tease coming in the form of a mysterious message found on an equally mysterious website simply known as The Survivor 2299. It looks as though The Survivor 2299 isn’t done with their teasing as a new message has just been released. (more…)

Mysterious Fallout Website Releases Another Coded Message

Mysterious Fallout Website Releases Another Coded MessageOver the past couple of weeks, we have heard a lot of rumors about Bethesda possibly announcing a new Fallout game at the Spike TV VGX event. This is mostly thanks to a mysterious website called The Survivor 2299 (which does not appear to be loading at this time of writing) that had a countdown clock. The website has since been updated several times, with the previous update featuring morse code that made references to previous Fallout games, and now recently the website had received a new update with another coded message which has since been decoded by the folks at the Fallout Reddit thread. Fallout 4 Teaser Website Updated With Mysterious Morse Code That Has Since Been Decoded

Fallout 4 Teaser Website Updated With Mysterious Morse Code That Has Since Been DecodedIt was just last week that a mysterious website was launched called The Survivor 2299. Many had speculated that this could be a teaser website for an upcoming Fallout 4 announcement, and a recent Fallout 4 trademark registration in Europe only cemented the belief. In any case the website has since been updated with an audio clip that sounds a lot like morse code, which has since been decoded by the folks at Reddit as, “CQ CQ DE OZ PSE AS”. For those unfamiliar with morse code, this apparently translates to, “Calling any station, calling any station, calling any station, this is/from Oscar Zulu Please Stand by”.

We doubt that this makes any sense to regular folks since it seems very vague and does not specifically mention anything about Fallout, but bring in the Fallout fans and suddenly we might have something on our hands. Oscar Zulu is a radio station in an unmarked quest from Fallout 3, and that pretty much is the only connection we have for us right now. It has been speculated that there is a chance that the website along with the domain name could be fake and registered by someone else for the sake of a hoax, although admittedly it would be a pretty elaborate one. In any case it is expected that the game will be announced early December, if true, so be sure to check back with us then for the details.

Fallout 4 Trademarked In Europe By Bethesda

Fallout 4 Trademarked In Europe By BethesdaAs last week came to a close, we brought you word that Bethesda had already launched a teaser website, leading many to believe that Fallout 4 is imminent. The Fallout series had proven themselves to be extremely popular among gamers, leaving an open ended way for you to “build” your character in the way you like it, offering a way to complete the game in a myriad of ways. Well, we are more than pleased to bring you word that Bethesda had already trademarked Fallout 4 in Europe, although we are left scratching our heads as to why Bethesda had only decided to apply for this trademark recently, despite having the property under their care and guidance for years.

This particular trademark, having been made known so close after we were treated to the appearance of a teaser website, will most probably be connected to one another. This will most probably mean that Fallout 4 is indeed in the pipeline, and you can be more or less sure that the game will be a hit when it finally arrives. It would then be time to say hello to sleepless nights, and goodbye to your social life! What would you like to see introduced in Fallout 4 that you missed in its previous three iterations?

Bethesda Launches Teaser Website, Fallout 4 Speculated

Bethesda Launches Teaser Website, Fallout 4 SpeculatedIf you are a fan of the Fallout franchise and you’re wondering what Bethesda might have to offer in the fourth installment of the game, perhaps we might be getting our answers on the 10th of December. This is thanks to a new teaser website registered to ZeniMax, Bethesda’s parent company, where at the moment all we have to see is a countdown clock that suggests that something will be unveiled on the 10th of December, like we mentioned above. What the website does not state is that this might be a Fallout-related announcement, but with rumors suggesting Fallout 4 might be announced this year, many are speculating that this could be indeed, Fallout-related.

Given that the 10th of December is also around the time when the 2013 Video Game Awards on Spike TV will be held, there is a good chance the game, whatever it might be, will be announced then as well. After all Bethesda had used that platform to announce The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, so why not use it to announce Fallout 4, right? Not much is known about the game for now, but last we heard, Fallout 4 is expected to be set in Boston, although that is merely a rumor for now, but if you’re looking forward to a new Fallout game, be sure to check back with us then for the details.
