Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 saunters past FCC with AT&T-friendly LTE

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 saunters past FCC with AT&T-friendly LTE

Sure, the only flavor of the Galaxy Note 8.0 currently lining US shelves is the version just packing Wi-Fi, but it appears that the LTE variety is getting ready for a trip stateside. The FCC just inspected a version of the tablet carrying a 850 / 1900 GSM radio along with support for LTE Bands 2, 4, 5 and 17, which are all tell-tale signs of hardware that plays nice with AT&T’s network. For those in need of a refresher, Samsung’s tablet runs Jelly Bean and boasts a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, A-GPS, GLONASS, a hefty 4,600 mAh battery, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. With one of the final hurdles for availability on American shores cleared, you’re that much closer to laying your paws on a slate that can moonlight as an unwieldy cellphone.

JBL Spark Bluetooth speaker uncovered at the FCC with wall mounting, retro looks

JBL Spark Bluetooth speaker uncovered at the FCC

JBL is known for its love of exotic speaker designs, but a new FCC approval suggests it’s about to turn back the clock for its next look. An unannounced Spark Bluetooth speaker appearing at the US agency wouldn’t look out of place at the top of a gramophone — albeit one draped in red plastic. It could also be part of the decor, as a manual in the filing suggests there’s support for mounting brackets. While the FCC filing doesn’t give away any launch details for the Spark, the 13W of total power hints that we won’t be paying a lot for our semi-retro audio.

Although ASUS recently delivered the $150 7-inch MeMo Pad and PadFone Infinity combo device, it’s been a while since a premium Android tablet graced the lineup. PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller passes through the FCC solo

PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller passes through the FCC solo

We still haven’t actually touched the redesigned DualShock 4 destined to ship with Sony’s PlayStation 4, but we’re getting another look at it in this FCC filing. Appearing in wireframe form to show off where its FCC label will be placed, what’s available reveals very little. As we were told, it’s still a Bluetooth 2.1+EDR device and carries a CUH-ZCT1U model number, and its PS Eye-compatible light bar can be seen in the diagram. Of course, what we’re really waiting to see is the system that will accompany this remote control and do battle with the Xbox One for console supremacy, but barring a leak or unexpected revelation that will have to wait until E3. Hit the source link to check out the docs yourself, or get a better angle on it in our galleries below.

Toshiba’s AT10LE-A tablet lets the FCC peek at its Tegra 4 internals

Toshibas AT10LEA lets the FCC peek at its Tegra 4 internals

The FCC’s underground bunker, situated beneath Portals II, 445 12th Street SW, has recently been visited by a rising star of the tablet world. Toshiba’s AT10LE-a, the company’s Tegra 4-powered slate that’s reportedly running Android 4.2.1 has been dissected by those fine folks at the FCC. The unit is carrying WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC radios, and now that they’ve been passed safe for human consumption, we can only assume that an official announcement won’t be too far behind.

Sony PC shows up at FCC, hints at 13-inch VAIO Duo

Sony PC shows up at FCC, hints at 13-inch VAIO Duo

When a “personal computer” from Sony lands at the FCC, with very little else to identify it, we have to put the pieces together ourselves. With the model number SVD132A14L, we can divine that it’s very likely a Sony VAIO Duo and a 13-incher at that. Radio-wise, it shows dual-band WiFi in a/b/g/n flavors, Bluetooth (regular and low energy) and NFC. Then there’s the label image you see above. It doesn’t give away a lot, but it does seem to match that mysterious 13-inch slider we saw, as seen from the rear with the screen hinge, and what looks like the angular front section. Is there a larger version of the 11-inch Duo Windows 8 hybrid on the way? Place your bets now.
