One unreleased Apple device that has been out of the rumors these days is the iPad 5. Apple is expected to launch its fifth generation tablet in September or October. Today we get to see the back of this tablet in allegedly leaked pictures. The pictures have been published by FanaticFone, which claims that the rear shell is 24 centimeters by 16.8 centimeters, making it nominally smaller than the current iPad which comes in at 24 centimeters by 18.6 centimeters. According to them, the bezel will be smaller than it is on the current fourth generation iPad.

Rumor has it that production of the fifth generation iPad is going to begin this summer. Apparently Apple has already informed its component suppliers that it wishes to produce the next generation 9.7 inch iPad either by July or August. The company changed its iPad release cycle late last year when it unexpectedly announced the fourth generation iPad, merely seven months after it had released the third generation iPad. Previous rumors claimed that Apple would go ahead with the launch of fifth generation iPad in March 2013, though that didn’t happen.
This particular rumor comes from Digitimes, a publication famed for its hit or miss Apple rumors. It claims to have heard from a source that the next full fledged iPad will have the same 9.7 inch screen as its predecessors, though it will be thinner and lighter than its predecessors. Apple is said to adopt a thin bezel design for its next iPad, a design similar to the iPad mini. If this rumor is anything to go by, then we can expect the next iPad to be available somewhere around September or October.
