That Steve Jobs Action Figure Just Got Even Creepier

Holy mother of Moof. Remember the ultra-realistic Steve Jobs action figure? I thought it couldn’t get creepier until its creators decided to make it pose on the arm of the full size Madame Tussauds’ Steve Jobs—which you can see here completely finished. More »

Omote 3D Photo Booth Churns out Miniature Models of Yourself Instead of Pictures

2D pictures are so yesterday. At least, they are in Japan. Rolling out on November 24th in Harajuku are 3D-printing photo booths called the Omote 3D.

3d miniature portraits 1 Instead of flat prints, people will get miniature 3D figurines of themselves for a souvenir. It’s not as ‘instant’ as the former, since people will have to remain in their poses for about 15 minutes while an attendant performs a full body scan.

The 3D models are available in three sizes from four to eight inches, with prices ranging from appx. $258 to $516 (USD) per person, depending on the size of the miniature. Pricey, I know.

The booth will be open until January 14, 2013 at the EYE OF GYRE, so drop by if you happen to be in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Ken Levine Shows off Bioshock Infinite’s Ultimate Songbird Figure

If you’re like me, you’re pretty disappointed that Bioshock Infinite was delayed until February 2013. But I suppose I’d rather have a rock-solid game than one filled with bugs and rushed to market. One thing to look forward to when the game finally comes out is the awesome looking Ultimate Songbird Edition.

bioshock infinite songbird

The highlight of this massive $150 collectors edition of the game is a highly-detailed 9.75″ statue of the Songbird, a key character in the game – Elizabeth’s creepy bird-like protector feared by the residents of Columbia. In a video clip released today, the game’s creator Ken Levine gives us an up-close and personal look this beautiful hand-painted statue, along with the cool retro packaging it comes in.

In addition to the statue, the Ultimate Songbird Edition ships with a 64-page art book, a resin Handyman figure for playing the upcoming Bioshock Infinite board game, a cool lithograph promoting “Devil’s Kiss”, a murder of crows keychain and a copy of the game’s digital soundtrack. It also includes several bonus power-ups, costumes and PS3 and PC users get downloadable themes as well.

You can pre-order the Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition over on Amazon for $149.96(USD), and it ships on February 26, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Mega Man Bobble Heads Bobble on By

If you’re a fan of Mega Man (or Rockman if you live in Japan), then you’ll definitely want to put down your NES controller long enough to grab this set of cool and bubbly Mega Man Bobble Buddies.

These 3.5-inch-tall bobble heads capture the spirit some of my favorite Mega Man characters, including Elec Man, Proto Man, Guts Man and of course, Mega Man himself. Now they need to make a Sniper Joe bobble head to go with. You can pre-order them over at Entertainment Earth for $34.99(USD) for the complete set of four, and they ship this November.

On a totally unrelated note, have there ever been Bubble Bobble bobble heads? There really should be.

Cubify lets you skin, 3D print your own personal Android

Sick of letting everyone else skin your Android for you? 3D printing service Cubify is helping you fight back with Bugdroids, a customizable version of Google’s lovable green mascot. You can change its colors, add accessories like hats, horns glasses, mustaches and bling (that’s “bling,” not Bing, mind), and then the service will 3D print one out and ship it to you — well, after you drop an admittedly pricey $30 to $40, figurine size depending.
