Final Fantasy V Coming To iOS Tomorrow

Final Fantasy V Coming To iOS Tomorrow

We’ve been expecting Final Fantasy V to be made available onto iOS some time this month, and seeing how this is the final week of March, there’s no better time for the game to be released than this week. Considering the game just made itself available in the New Zealand App Store, that pretty much guarantees the game will be made available in the U.S. App Store later this evening.

Square Enix originally announced Final Fantasy V would be made available only in Japan, but seeing how many fans of the series, as well as this specific title, in the U.S., we had a feeling they’d bring it to the U.S. as well. (more…)

Final Fantasy V To Arrive On The Japanese iTunes App Store By The End Of March

Final Fantasy V To Arrive On The Japanese iTunes App Store By The End Of MarchBack in December of 2012, thanks to a rather cryptic video, it was suggested that Final Fantasy V could be making its way onto iOS devices, although no specific dates were mentioned, but with Final Fantasy III already on iOS, it wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination. However thanks to a report by FF-Reunion, it seems that gamers looking forward to Final Fantasy V might be pleased to learn that the game could be arriving for iOS come end of March. The downside is that the game will only available for the Japan iTunes App Store, at least for the meantime.

We’re not sure when an English version will be launched, but if you’ve played the game in Japanese or are fluent in the language, we guess you could go ahead and check it out, if not you’re probably like the rest of us who will have to wait. As expected the game will feature updated graphics and controls optimized for the touchscreen display. No word on pricing just yet but if Square Enix’s mobile games are anything to go by, it will not be cheap.

Possible Final Fantasy V And VI Announcements Teased For 17th January

ff5 6 Possible Final Fantasy V And VI Announcements Teased For 17th JanuaryBack in December 2012, it was hinted that Final Fantasy V “and more” could be ported onto iOS. This followed the release of Final Fantasy IV on iOS and towards the end of the trailer, the teaser was revealed. Now Square Enix has since set up a teaser website where sprite outlines and a date (17th January) was revealed. According to Siliconera, the sprite outlines are that of the Behemoth from Final Fantasy VI along with possible character sprites from Final Fantasy V, suggesting that perhaps an announcement of some sort could be taking place on the 17th. Given that both games have already been launched for their respective platforms, and the teaser released by Square Enix in 2012, we guess we wouldn’t be surprised if the announcement had to do with Final Fantasy V and VI being released, or at least getting a release date for iOS. Either way with 17th of January only a couple of days away, we guess we won’t have to wait long to find out. In the meantime who else is excited by this?
