Final Fantasy XIV To Introduce Housing Feature In Patch 2.1

Final Fantasy XIV To Introduce Housing Feature In Patch 2.1Final Fantasy XIV players, if you’re in a guild, then the upcoming patch 2.1 which is slated for a release in December is definitely something worth looking forward to. Square Enix has revealed on its website that one of the upcoming new features that will be introduced to the game in the patch is housing which essentially allows players from the same guild (or Free Company as it is known in the game), to come together to one place which can act as their base of operations, or simply as a location where guild members can come together and “hang out” virtually and just chat.

In order to make use of this new feature, gamers would have to purchase a plot of land which is sold through auctions, and once this is done, gamers would then need to purchase a house permit to build their house with. The house will consist of four parts that can be decorated. This includes the roof, the exterior wall, windows, and the door. The interior of the house can also be decorated with furniture such as tables, lamps, carpets, and etc. In fact in the future, Square Enix is looking to introduce a crafting workshop where players can build vehicles or even a Chocobo stable. Patch 2.1 for the game is expected to see a release on the 17th of December.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Sign-ups Announced

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Sign ups AnnouncedThe previous iteration of the Final Fantasy MMO certainly did not go the way Square Enix had intended, which is why they have recreated the game and called it “A Realm Reborn”. If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise and you believe that Square Enix should be given another chance as far as the FF MMO is concerned, you might be interested to learn that Beta signups for the game have been announced, which means that you can go ahead and register yourself if you wish to partake in the game ahead of others.

However it should be noted that this isn’t necessarily a guarantee you will get in, but it doesn’t hurt to sign up anyway, right? If you’d like to find out if you’re eligible, or read some of the fine print related to the Beta, head on over to the Beta information page. Phase one and two of the beta is expected to be related to the PC, while PlayStation 3 beta testing will take place in phase 3. For those who have been playing the Alpha, signups are not necessary but beta access is not guaranteed either.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test Plans

ff xiv Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test PlansSquare Enix has been quick off the blocks to share with the world their plans for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which is due for an upcoming beta test. This beta test is said to be divided into four different phases, where it will be available at first only for the PC version of the game. Expect the beta test to begin sometime in the middle of February, with the PlayStation 3 beta test to follow a wee bit later on. The first phase is a closed beta with an NDA in place, and will take anywhere from a fortnight to a month, followed by half a month of debugging, where it will continue with the subsequent phases.

Phase 3 is when the PlayStation 3 beta test begins, and if we were to count the possible weeks required, it would have been nearly 3 months thereabouts after mid-February 2013, so we are looking at a May or June testing phase for the PS3. You can read the entire beta test phases here. (Warning: PDF link)
