Oppo Find 5 Hits China

oppo find5 china Oppo Find 5 Hits ChinaAre you on the lookout for phablets? If you have answered in the affirmative, then surely you would have found (pun not intended) the Oppo Find 5 to be quite the charming device to own, especially when it comes with a whopping 5” display at Full HD resolution. This particular phablet is now available for pre-order in China for roughly $485 after conversion, where you would end up with 16GB of internal memory to boot. The thing is, those who prefer double the amount of internal memory will just have to sit this one out as that model has not been released yet.

Shipping should commence soon, and the first batch of the Oppo Find 5 ought to arrive in front of your doorsteps this coming January 29th. Oppo has not forgotten about the market over in the US and Europe, as they will make attempts to ensure those territories receive this rockin’ phablet, with the 16GB and 32GB models touted to retail for $500 and $570, respectively.

Oppo Find 5 Has A 32GB Model, Will Hit The Global Market In Q1 Next Year

oppo Oppo Find 5 Has A 32GB Model, Will Hit The Global Market In Q1 Next YearChinese electronics company, Oppo Digital, has managed to dropped a special gift for all its “Ofans” around the world. Oppo posted a new teaser of the Oppo Find 5 smartphone on its official Facbook page earlier today showing a much larger 32GB version of the “phablet” which costs $569. When Oppo took the wraps off the Oppo Find 5 earlier this month, we only know of one model – a 16GB which is priced at $499. It’s good to know that interested buyers can opt for a 32GB variant for their bigger storage needs. (more…)

Oppo's Find 5 to hit several international markets in Q1 2013, adds a $569 32GB model

Ho ho ho! Even on this special day, the folks at Oppo decided to drop a bomb on its “Ofans.” According to a fresh teaser on its Facebook page, not only will Oppo be offering the $499 16GB version of the quad-core, five-inch 1080p Find 5 in the US (as we already knew), but there’ll also be a 32GB flavor for $569. What’s more, the image also lists many additional countries: Canada, UK, Spain, Australia, Germany, France, Belgium, Malaysia, Sweden, Singapore, Finland, Greece, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, Japan and Hong Kong. Just to be sure, we reached out to Oppo and were told that it’s aiming to hit all these markets within Q1 next year; and better yet, it’ll try to do that as close to the early-January China launch as possible. Sounds like the company’s pushing for a global online retail channel (the blurred out URL probably indicates that it’ll be a centralized website), and it’ll be interesting to compare its performance to Xiaomi’s more humble attempt closer to home.

Update: We’ve been told that this is only a partial list, so fret not if your country isn’t there.

Oppo Find 5 spec sheet pops up, heading to US for $499 unsubsidized

Oppo Find 5 spec sheet listed for $499 unsubsidized

Quad-core APQ8064 chip: check. 5-inch 1080p display: check. That’s right, it’s the Oppo Find 5 again, but this time we’re seeing the phone’s full spec sheet courtesy of the manufacturer’s overly simple US website — we’ve already verified this with our contacts. Apart from the fact that Oppo will be selling the much anticipated Find 5 in the US, the product page also lists an unsubsidized price of just $499, which isn’t bad when you look at the $600 HTC Droid DNA off contract. The specs also mention Android 4.1.2, a 2,500mAh battery, NFC, 16GB of built-in storage and 2GB of RAM, as well as compatibility with T-Mobile and AT&T’s 3G networks. Now all we need are some pictures, but we’ll even get to touch it at the Beijing launch event next Wednesday.

Oppo to unveil Find 5 in Beijing on December 12th, but we all know what’s coming

Oppo

We see what you did there, Oppo: a triple-12 date for the introduction of its next flagship phone, the Find 5. You’d think it’d be a tough act to follow after the Chinese company’s crazy slim Finder from this summer, but as CEO Tony Chen’s already teased previously, his next product will boast a five-inch 1080p (441ppi) display along with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064. It sure sounds a lot like HTC’s Droid DNA, but we shall have to wait until the Beijing event to see what Oppo’s “fifth element” actually looks like, as well as to see what other surprises it may have for us, so stay tuned.

Oppo Find 5 is a quad-core monster of a smartphone

Now here is an emerging smartphone manufacturer, Oppo, where their upcoming Oppo Find 5 will definitely rub shoulders with the very best of the Android-powered smartphone family. The Oppo Find 5 is confirmed to come with a 5” Full HD resolution display (hmmm, does this mean it will compete with the recently announced HTC J Butterfly?), carry a narrow 3mm bezel while being powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core processor. Of course, the Oppo Find 5 will also be accompanied by other luxuries such as 2GB RAM, an aluminum unibody, a 12-megapixel camera at the back with a Sony backlit sensor, all crammed into a body that measures just 6.9mm thin.

To make sure the Oppo Find 5 is able to last the whole day, it comes with a rather long lasting 2500mAh battery – of course, battery life will vary depending on the kind of software you run on your smartphone. It will arrive in 16GB and 32GB flavors with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box. No idea on whether this will hit markets outside of China just yet though, it would be nice to see a variant released.

More Oppo Find 5 details divulged

More than a week ago, we took a look at the Oppo Find 5 phablet, where we did mention that it will come with a 441 ppi display (weighing in at 5” and having 1920 x 1080 resolution), accompanied by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the mobile operating system of choice, not to mention the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. Well, there are more details to the Oppo Find 5 that we will look at today. Oppo already has laid claim to having the world’s thinnest smartphone and the world’s thinnest quad core smartphone, and now they want to stake their claim on the “world’s first 1080p smartphone”.

Other rumored specifications will include 2GB RAM (similar to certain variants of the Galaxy S3), accompanied by a 12-megapixel rear camera which is accompanied by a 2-megapixel camera in front that would work great for vanity shots, sporting 16GB or 32GB of internal memory as well as a 2,500mAh battery pack to keep it going. The thing is, there is still no word on pricing or availability, so we will just need to be patient and wait.

Oppo CEO says quadcore Find 5 will feature a 1080p, 441ppi display, forgets to wink at HTC

Not sure how this slipped under our radar, but recently Oppo Mobile CEO Chen Mingyong teased that his upcoming flagship phone, the Find 5, will again feature a non-removable but “certainly big enough” battery (for the sake of anti-counterfeiting and, consequently, safety) as well as a 1080p, 441ppi display. That’s right, 441ppi! We’re finally getting a phone with a display that’s impossibly sharper than the 326ppi on the latest iPhones (up to 4-inch, 1,136 x 640), the 331ppi on the Nokia Lumia 920 (4.5-inch, 1,280 x 768) or even the 342ppi on the Sony Xperia acro S and the Xiaomi Phone 2 (4.3-inch, 1,280 x 720).

Assuming Chen’s talking about a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, a quick calculation based on these two numbers would give us a 5-inch screen size, which matches what LG Display announced back in May. Taking into account that a reliable source of ours got to see HTC’s 5-inch 6435LVW phablet recently, this would make the Find 5 unofficially the second device to receive the same full HD panel. Still, there’s a significant difference inside these two phones: Chen had previously mentioned that the Find 5 will be joining the quad-core APQ8064 party, while the HTC device appears to sport the dual-core, LTE-enabled MSM8960. Speaking of which, the same source informed us that much like the Flyer, HTC’s 6435LVW will also feature N-trig stylus technology. Will Oppo follow in the same footsteps? And will it bring back the slide-out keyboard à la Find X903 (pictured above)? Go on, Mr. Chen, tell us more.
