With gadgets that are fitted with batteries, you always run into the risk of those batteries not playing nice, and ultimately deciding to malfunction in a number of ways. Seeing things that shouldn’t be burned get melted down to nothing by fire is weirdly titillating. You don’t even have to be a pyromaniac to enjoy the perversion of the flames. Just look at how this tooth slowly disappears! It’s gross and weirdly wonderful in all the right ways. So bless the master torch wielders of Cars and Water for taking a tooth from their childhood and blasting it with a hydrogen/oxygen flame. I thought I would never know how a tooth burns. Now I’ll never smile the same again.

When you think of fire, the only way water is thrown into the equation is in order to help control the blazing inferno in hopes to extinguish it. But scientist have invented a new welding flame that is comprised entirely of water as it’s main fuel source. The Safeflame has the ability to split water into oxygen and hydrogen to then recombine them outside of the torch’s mouth in order to create fire. The byproduct of this procedure is only water. Trying to watch the sun’s explosions with your naked eyes is a recipe for blindness, but luckily NASA has a couple of telescopes that can show you all that fusion glory with none of the permanent ocular damage. Take, for instance, this 200,000-mile long canyon of fire.

Now watch in horror as their tiny insides are slowly revealed…
These nightmare-inducing candles, titled The Devil’s Pet were conceptualized by Icelandic artist Thorunn Arnadottir using a tiny aluminum skeleton inside of a wax casting.
Sweet little kittens are transformed in a fire. Crawling from the ashes come forth grinning metallic devils with sharp claws and fire blazing in their eyes.
Now that’s quite a visual.
Due to popular demand, Thorunn plans on producing these candles via a Kickstarter campaign in the near future.
