Flappy Bird Arrives Via HTML5

Flappy Bird Arrives Via HTML5Flappy Bird is dead, long live Flappy Bird! So, one of the biggest questions of 2014 (so far, anyways) on peoples’ lips would be this, “Why did he take down Flappy Bird?” ‘Tis not so much of a mystery, as Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen did so for our own good, since he knows just how addictive the game can get. Having said that, Flappy Bird fever is not over yet, as plenty of clones have appeared on the likes of the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Pebble Appstore, too. eBay has also pulled listings of handsets that have Flappy Bird installed since some of them have been listed for a crazy prices. So far, there are over 81 Flappy clones and counting. Why not throw in one more clone into the mix? Free Flappy Bird happens to be a playable game directly from within a mobile browser or on a desktop.

Flappy Bird Scammers Set To Snare Unsuspecting Victims

Flappy Bird Scammers Set To Snare Unsuspecting VictimsFlappy Bird, the hugely popular game that has been pulled down by its creator, Dong Nguyen, from all app stores across various platforms for “our own good”, is still basking in the limelight at least for now. Apparently, as Dong Nguyen announced the relatively early “death” of Flappy Birds, this does not mean that the game itself will lose its popularity. On the contrary, it seems that anything that has to do with Flappy Bird these days is on the rise. This has led scam artists to capitalize on the situation via the introduction of Flappy Bird clones – albeit with a twist, of course. These malicious apps tend to look like the original, but it was specially programmed so that users will send premium rate text messages without them knowing any better.

Trend Micro mentioned, “All of the fake versions we’ve seen so far are premium service abusers – apps that send messages to premium numbers, thus causing unwanted charges to victims’ phone billing statements.” How do you know that your Flappy Bird installer is a legit one? Apparently, the malicious app version would make a request for additional read/send text messages permissions during installation, whereas the original does not need such permissions.

Flappy Bird Creator: I Pulled the Game Because It Was Too Addictive

Flappy Bird Gets A “Doge” Web Remake

Flappy Bird Gets A Doge Web RemakeAs you might have heard to your dismay, Flappy Bird is gone for good as its developer has since removed the game from all the app stores. However the good news is that there are tons of alternatives out there, but in case you didn’t want to spend any money or maybe not have to deal with ads, how does a browser version of Flappy Bird sound to you? If you like that idea, you might be pleased to learn that a variant of Flappy Bird has made its way onto the web in the form of Flappy Doge.

The game will play exactly like Flappy Bird (although admittedly it does not feel as responsive but it is pretty close), but instead of it featuring a pixelated bird, it will instead feature a pixelated Shiba Inu dog, or “doge” if you’d rather, who for those unfamiliar has become a meme. Flappy Doge is free to play and does not come with any ads, so if you’re looking for a Flappy Bird replacement that you can play on your browser, hit up the Flappy Doge website for the game! So, what’s your best score folks?

Flappy Bird Developer Reportedly Received Legal Notice From Nintendo

Flappy Bird Developer Reportedly Received Legal Notice From Nintendo

The popular mini game Flappy Bird took the world by storm only a couple of weeks ago. It became one of the most downloaded games on the App Store as well as the Google Play Store, allegedly earning its developer over $50,000 per day through ad revenue. A few days back, Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen announced via Twitter that he was going to take the game down, and he did. A lot of people have been reaching out to him on Twitter in order to find out exactly why has he pulled the game. While Nguyen previously said his decision wasn’t due to any legal troubles, two of his friends tell Reuters that he had actually received a legal notice from Nintendo.

Flappy Bird Sold On eBay For Hundreds Of Dollars

Flappy Bird Sold On eBay For Hundreds Of DollarsInstead of reveling in the success of his game, Flappy Bird, its creator has decided to remove the game from all the app stores that it is available in at the moment, claiming that he “cannot take this anymore”. He claims it has nothing to do with legal issues, but many speculate that could be the case. Well whatever it is, if you weren’t quick on the draw in downloading the game, you will not be able to get your hands on it anymore, unless you’re willing to pay hundreds of dollars for it, of course. Nope, this isn’t the developer selling the game off, but rather enterprising iPhone owners who have taken to eBay to auction off the iPhones with the game preinstalled on it.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are many listings on eBay for the phone with the game installed on it. The prices of the phones are around the $600-$800 mark, with one particular unit even selling for $1,500. Interestingly enough there seems to be several bids on these listings, suggesting that there is a market for iPhones with Flappy Bird preinstalled on them. We’re not sure if all these listings will be successful but what do you guys think? Is this taking the craze for the game a little too far?
