Not everyone’s lucky enough to have a musician for a boyfriend or girlfriend. If you want a song that’s truly created for you, then you might want to check out IDNAtity.

It’s a fun musical app that composes a song for you based on your genetic code. Of course, the app doesn’t require a DNA sample – it starts off by asking you to upload a picture of yourself and answer a series of questions regarding your appearance, like your eye, hair, and skin color. IDNAtity will then generate your genetic code and create a song that you can listen to and maybe even share with others.

The app provides several instruments for your song, from orchestra instruments to bird tweets.

IDNAtity is available on the iTunes App Store for $0.99(USD).

There’s a glaring problem with most of the geeky clothing on the market . It’s something I’ve only recently noticed, as I’m a male and tend to be dense regarding matters such as this. The selection of geek apparel geared towards women is pretty awful. Black Milk has long sought to remedy that – and their recently-released Mass Effect line is yet one more step in the right direction.

If you used to live in the Big Apple or have an affinity for the city that never sleeps, then I have no doubt that you’ll find MissingNYC interesting. But if you don’t, then you’ll most likely think of it as junk.

MissingNYC was cooked up by two students from Parsons, the New School of Design in New York. It’s essentially a jar filled with random mementos of the city.

MissingNYC encapsulates a favorite neighborhood, park or landmark making it an authentic part of New York City. A token, a time capsule, a piece of trash,however you may see it, never letting go is our mission. Wherever life may take you, you’ll always have New York.

How did Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ song describe the city again? A “concrete jungle where dreams are made” – and I’m pretty sure many out there would agree.

No two bottles are ever alike, since they are put together only after you place an order. A note listing down what’s in the bottle along with the date and the location where the items were picked up is included with the bottle.

Princesses have it all. Or do they?

All of Disney’s tales end with happily-ever-afters. They are called ‘fairy tales’, after all. Dina Goldstein decided to inject a bit of reality into their stories though and came up with this series, which she aptly dubbed Fallen Princesses.

The series features some of Disney’s most well-known princesses living a not-so-happy life after their movies’ supposed happy endings. Snow White is a mother of four kids with a good-for-nothing prince, Ariel is displayed as an attraction in an aquarium, and Jasmine looks like a fierce combatant clutching a weapon in the middle of a raging war.

Although this ad campaign by Guido Daniele is a few years old, it exemplifies the change in that relationship which has occurred in recent years. Our hyperconnected, light-speed generation, coupled with our throw away culture, might render certain forms of art as nothing more than a disposable tool to sell a product, rather than a lasting statement about the world at the moment of its conception.
