If George Lucas were born in the Elizabethan era along with William Shakespeare, what would Star Wars have been like? I’d like to think the story would have the same characters and elements, although it’d clearly be written in very different prose.

Ian Doescher had similar ideas, and it was those ideas that pushed him to rewrite the script of ”A New Hope” in iambic pentameter.

It reads like William Shakespeare’s typical work, although there’s nothing typical about this. It’s especially amusing to read R2-D2′s “beeps” and “meeps” amid all those “thous” and “arts” throughout the script.

Even the Sith Lord himself wasn’t spared, as the cover features Darth Vader decked out in Elizabethan-themed armor.

It is not uncommon for art to be described as spectacular, fascinating, or profound, but art that seems genuinely magical is something altogether different. The mysterious and impossible sculptures of Tom Eckert challenge the perception of reality, allowing this wizard of woodcarving to bring his viewers a little closer to the magic of the art world.

Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro said that he wanted the robots to be unique. Apparently that also applies to their names. How else do you explain monikers like Gipsy Danger and Striker Eureka? And now we have 4th String Jaegers:

4th String Jaegers is a single purpose blog. Its contributors use the Jaeger Designer web app that Warner Bros. made to promote the movie to create hilarious posters featuring their own ideas for Jaeger names. Some of them bring countries to the mix to make puns, while others go off on another tangent and replace the names with funny captions instead. Sadly some of them use offensive language, so the blog isn’t safe for kids.

4th String Jaegers accepts contributions from anyone, and the Jaeger Designer is still online. Make your own 4th String Jaeger and cancel the apocalypse! Or just delay its flight! There is a Jaeger named Caramel Fluffybutt, your argument is invalid!

Do your pens go missing every once in a while, even though you’re sure you left them at your desk? Pen thieves are everywhere, especially at the office, so if you don’t take care and keep your stuff when they’re not in use, then chances are they’ll go missing once you leave your desk or cubicle.

My suggestion for your pens is to replace them with these ones. They look like blades of grass stuck in a plant pot, but remove one and you’ll see that it’s actually a pen in disguise.

The pens come in three different shades of green to make it look like you’ve got actual grass in that pot. While people will eventually catch on that those are pens and not grass, they’ll still ward off would-be thieves because it would be extremely obvious if they go to work one day with a green grass pen in their pocket.

Each Pooleaf pen costs about $5 (USD), which means you’ll spend quite a bit if you want to fill an entire pot with them. They don’t come with the pot either, but those are easy to find anyway.

Let people in the real world know how popular you are in real life with Fliike. It’s a physical counter that shows off how many “Likes” your page has received on Facebook in real time.

The Fliike was created by Smiirl, which is a design studio start-up based in France.

The Fliike basically connects to your Facebook page via Wi-Fi and transmits every “like” that you’ve received onto the flipboard-like counter. Personal pages won’t have much use for it, but pages for commercial purposes might, just so that establishment can show people that they’ve got a strong virtual presence.

A limited number of Fliikes are available for pre-order for $390(USD) (yes, $390!) If you’re more popular than 99,999 likes, Smiirl can add an extra numerical column to your Fliike to accommodate your massive popularity. The first batch ships out this November.
