Optimus Prime Chicken Coop: Chickens in Disguise

Doctor Who already has his own chicken coop, so why shouldn’t the Autobots? Well, thanks to one enterprising farmer/geek, they now do. A dude going by the name “Tez” created this awesome chicken coop made up to look just like Optimus Prime (in truck mode that is).

While it won’t transform into a standing mech, it will keep chickens in check and help them stay fat and happy while they lay their eggs.

All it needs is an ion blaster to fire at any approaching foxes (or Decepticons), and it’ll be perfect. Check out more pictures of the Optimus Prime chicken coop here.

Pumpktris: Now You Can Play Tetris on a Pumpkin

Now who would have thought that we’d see Tetris make its big comeback on a pumpkin? With Halloween upon us, I suppose that this themed ‘console’ is totally appropriate.

Pumpktris

It’s definitely a step up from all the usual jack’o’lanterns that people usually put out this time of the year. Nathan from HaHa Bird got the idea to grow Tetris-shaped pumpkins last year, but never got around to doing it.

So instead of growing pumpkins shaped like Tetris pieces, he decided to install an actual Tetris game into a hollowed out pumpkin. Hence, the Pumpktris.

The stem of the pumpkin acts as the controller, with about 128 LEDs illuminating the game ‘screen’ with puzzle pieces. Happy Halloween, Tetris style!

Hate Politics? Then You’ll Love Unpolitic.me on Your Browser

With the elections nearing, it should come as no surprise that most of the people in your network are talking about politics and holding impromptu debates on Facebook. That is, if you live in the United States.

You could swear off Facebook until the elections are over. You could de-activate and spend your time doing more productive things. Or you could just get Unpolitic.me and continue wasting your time on the social network while blocking out anything that’s related to politics.

unpolitic me
Unpolitic.me is an extension for Chrome that automatically detects and blocks out politics-related content with pictures of adorable cats. How great is that?

The extension is developed by the same group of people who came up with Unbaby.me, which blocks out baby-related stuff that people in your network are posting.

Have a Happy Hobbit (and Prank-Filled) Halloween!

When The Lord of the Rings trilogy ended, I cried. Not because it was such an awesome ending, but because I no longer had any movies to look forward to – until The Hobbit was announced, that is.

A lot of folks are excited for the movie, and it shows. Heck, some of them even went to great lengths to come up with this video featuring everyone’s four favorite hobbits (that’s Sam, Frodo, Merry, and Pippin) in a Halloween adventure of their own.

Hobbit Halloween

The coolest part? The entire gang’s made up of LEGO.

In the video, Merry and Pippin are their usual naughty selves when they decide to pull a prank on Sam and Frodo. They dress up as the creepy Nazgul and manage to scare their friends off – until they find themselves face to face with Aragorn.

The mischievous duo find themselves the victim of their own prank later on when a surprise guest joins them later towards the end. I leave it up to you to find out who that ‘guest’ is, which you can easily do so by checking out the video below:

Thumbs up for These Awesome Fingertip Portraits

Artist Dito Von Tease creates hilarious, yet totally recognizable portraits of famous people and pop culture icons by dressing up and manipulating close-up images of fingertips – including his own.

Emotional Dimmer Switch Wants to Keep You in the Dark

Set the mood for a romantic evening by dimming the lights. And if this particular dimmer switch had its way, then it’s going to stay dark and dim for good.

That’s only if you want to keep it smiling, though.

dimmer switchThis switch is by designer Danny Taylor, who wanted to use it to teach kids about the concept of using energy responsibly. When the lights are on, the switch’s face indicates a sad face. Turn the lights all the way down, and the switch is smiling again.

I’m not sure if this is the smartest or most effective way to get kids to stop wasting energy, but it’s definitely a neat idea and an interesting concept. What say you?

Decapitated Teddy Bear USB Drive Loses His Head for Your Data

This Teddy Bear USB Drive is as cute and adorable as flash drives can get. Heck, they’re so fluffy and doe-eyed that kids would mistake them for toys and grab them from your desk.

When they do, I suggest that you get the USB back though because aside from possibly containing your confidential data, it also has the potential to break their hearts and scar them forever.

I think the picture says it all. Dear Teddy, headless? Oh, the sheer horror of having to comfort the kid when he accidentally (or purposefully) pulls Teddy’s head off. That said, this flash drive is probably best for storing back-up files or other data that wouldn’t require you to bring it to an actual office. For obvious reasons.

Headless Teddy Bear USB Drive1

On a side note, it’s totally appropriate for Halloween. The Headless Teddy Bear USB Drive is priced from $22 to $38 (USD), depending on the storage capacity. 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB drives are available.
