If you have played classic but low resolution games such as Tetris or Snake on a device like your handset before, you are sure to realize that fantastic graphics are not everything. Well, Princip Interactive of the Czech Republic has more or less captured the essence of the two mentioned games, thrown in a dash of color and sound in addition to some challenging physical twists and turns, resulting in what they call the Futuro Cube.
Will it be the Rubik’s Cube of the 21st century? Probably not, but that does not mean it is far less complex to the Rubik’s Cube, on the contrary, it will spread gameplay across all half dozen sides, where you will have to encounter entirely new levels of difficulty for its pre-loaded games, puzzles and brain-teasers. Out of the box, you will be able to enjoy some extremely difficult-looking version of Gomoku, in addition to a game inspired by Tetris that is called Cubris, as well as a revamped Snake on steroids. The Futuro Cube has nine RGB LED light modules on each face, set in a 3 x 3 configuration, with 64 or 255 pulse-width modulation (PWM) steps for each color component. Sensors within help to keep track of which face is pointing up, while registering motion and gesture patterns. Will the Futuro Cube be a hot ticket item this Christmas despite its $99.99 price tag? Only time will tell.
