LG G Flex For T-Mobile Registration Page Goes Live

LG G Flex For T Mobile Registration Page Goes LiveThe other day Sprint’s registration page for the LG G Flex came online and scheduled the phone for a release on the 7th of February. Well the good news is that if you’d much prefer T-Mobile than Sprint, you might be interested to learn that T-Mobile has put up the registration page for their LG G Flex as well. Do note that this is a registration page for the LG G Flex and not a pre-order page, meaning that you will not have to put down any money at the moment, but simply put in your details in which T-Mobile will then be able to notify you when the phone is made available, which we can only assume won’t be too far behind Sprint’s release. Pricing has not been mentioned ether but presumably it can be paid off via T-Mobile’s Uncarrier program.

In any case as far as specs are concerned, T-Mobile’s version of the LG G Flex will remain the same as all other versions of the phone, although possibly with different radios in order to make it compatible with the carrier’s network. Apart from that customers can look forward to a 6” curved OLED 720p HD display, a 13MP rear-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and it will be powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 32GB of onboard storage, a 3,500mAh battery, and will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean preinstalled. So, anyone planning on ordering the device when it is released?

LG G Flex Display Develops Bubbles After Continuous Flexing

LG G Flex Display Develops Bubbles After Continuous FlexingBack in 2013, LG unveiled the G Flex, a phone with a dramatically curved display that was announced shortly after Samsung’s own Galaxy Round efforts. Now what made the LG G Flex particular interesting was how the phone had self-healing powers whereby scratches made to the back of the phone would heal itself. Another unique ability, although one probably unintended, was how if you pressed down on the phone, it would actually flatten itself out before springing back into shape. Unfortunately as this was an intended feature of the phone, it seems to have developed some issues, such as bubbles forming on the display of the phone which is apparently caused by continuous flexing.

According to a statement released by LG, “Please don’t try to use frequent, excessive force on the device or the screen. The reason we’ve made the G Flex screen elastic is to protect the device from damage from sudden impacts such as being sat on or laid down on.” LG’s explanation is sound as we expect that the feature was meant to be used that way, as opposed to a cool party trick to impress your friends with. Now for those of you with G Flex devices, LG states that the bumps will go away over time and can be remedied by pressing on them lightly, so perhaps that’s worth giving a try, and you’ll probably not want to keep flexing your phone in the future for fun anymore either.

LG G Flex Arrives On Sprint

LG G Flex Arrives On SprintIf you are a Sprint subscriber and want to upgrade your smartphone, or are in the market for a new handset, you might want to check out something that is cutting edge from South Korea. The smartphone that I am referring to would be this – the LG G Flex, which we have already spent some hands-on time with it at the end of last year. The LG G Flex happens to be the first curved, flexible smartphone in the world, and it will be a Sprint exclusive that will be able to take advantage of Sprint Spark, which is enhanced LTE that supports a new generation of online gaming, virtual reality, advanced cloud services and other applications that require high bandwidth.

LG G Flex Press Renderings For AT&T And T-Mobile Leaked

LG G Flex Press Renderings For AT&T And T Mobile LeakedThe LG G Flex is the South Korean company’s attempt at creating a smartphone with a curved display, taking on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Round in the process. We had heard that LG planned to release the handset globally and that as far as a stateside launch was concerned, the device was scheduled to be launched on three of the major carriers, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Unfortunately until today we have not heard word about a possible release date, but thanks to the ever-reliable @evleaks, the press rendering of both AT&T and T-Mobile’s version of the handset has made its way online.

However given that the LG G Flex will look exactly the same, there’s no telling which model pictured above is for which carrier, save for the carrier’s name sighted in either model, then again we don’t expect LG to be making drastic design changes for every single carrier, so we guess that’s to be expected. In any case @evleaks has been pretty spot on in terms of his leaks so for all we know this could be a possibility. Like we said availability of the handset has not yet been made available, nor pricing, but hopefully we will hear more from LG soon, hopefully at CES 2014, so be sure to check back with us then for the details!

LG L Series II Receives Popular ‘Knock’ Feature Next Month

LG L Series II Receives Popular Knock Feature Next Month

LG announced today in Korea that its popular “Knock” feature, which was initially known as KnockON, is going to be standard in all key mobile devices in the future. The company also revealed that its L Series II smartphones are going to receive this feature sometime next month. The Knock feature debuted with LG G2, it allows users to turn the smartphone on and off by simply knocking twice on the display. Its a handy feature on the G2, considering the fact that its power button is located on the back. Knock for L Series II users will be rolled out through a global maintenance update in January, 2014.

The Korean manufacturer also introduced this feature in its G Pad 8.3 tablet. Its curved smartphone, the G Flex, also came with this feature because it too has the power button on the back. The company says that customer response to this feature was so positive that they made a version of Knock for the L Series II. Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics’ Mobile Communications Company, said that “Knock is distinctively an LG UX,” and that the company’s engineers found a way to improve the home button by turning the entire screen into one.

LG G Flex For Sprint Leaked

LG G Flex For Sprint LeakedIt wasn’t too long ago that LG announced the LG G Flex, the company’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Round as far as smartphones with flexible displays were concerned. We had heard the LG was planning a global launch that is slated for December and thanks to a recently leaked image by the ever-reliable @evleaks, it seems that what we are looking at above is a press rendering for the device that appears to be headed onto Sprint’s network. It has been expected that the G Flex will make its way onto multiple carriers, so if the rendering above is true, Sprint will be one of them.

So far we have also heard reports that the G Flex could make its way onto the likes of AT&T and T-Mobile as well, thanks to a sighting of the device at the FCC, although none of the major carriers in the US have officially announced the device’s availability yet. The handset has already been released in Korea, unsurprisingly given that LG is a Korean tech company, but it will be interesting to see its reception outside of the Korean market. According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Round has managed about 10,000 units sold so far, which isn’t that impressive but understandable given the phone’s novelty value, so we can’t wait to see if the LG G Flex will succeed where Samsung didn’t. What do you guys think?

The curved glass panel is the most noteworthy thing about the LG G Flex. The only other thing you must know is that you should not consider buying this phone.

LG G Flex kicks off a global rollout

lg-g-flexAre all smartphones created equal? That is a question that is certainly worth answering, and when it comes to the LG G Flex, you know for sure that you are staring down at something extra special. In fact, the LG G Flex has been boasted to be the first curved, flexing and self-healing smartphone in the world, which are definitely claims that would be rather difficult to live up to for other smartphone manufacturers, don’t you think so? If you have been hankering after the LG G Flex for the longest time but happen to reside outside of South Korea, fret not – this smartphone will be made available to the masses for the first time worldwide.

Expect the LG G Flex to address the global market by kicking off its release in Singapore and Hong Kong first, which makes perfect sense. Both of those countries come with extremely mature markets, not to mention folks who find it easy to spend plenty of dough at one time on a smartphone. Other key markets in Asia will also carry an availability announcement soon, where it ought to hit the respective markets before the year is over, prior to other regions.

When the LG G Flex was first introduced, it did its job in captivating early adopters everywhere, as this happened to be the first smartphone that has been curved to follow the contour of the human face. Of course, such a task was made possible thanks to the implementation of the world’s first curved smartphone battery. Not only that, it is also equipped with a durable plastic OLED (P-OLED) HD display, alongside a back that would have its very own healing factor. Yes sir, the LG G Flex will boast of a self-healing back cover which will make sure that those pesky day-to-day scratches are a thing of the past, making it look as pristine as possible. I do wonder how it will fare in a pocket full of keys and coins, though.

LG G Flex Kicks Off Global Rollout, Hits Key Asian Markets First

LG G Flex Kicks Off Global Rollout, Hits Key Asian Markets FirstWe already had a hands-on with the LG G Flex sometime earlier last month, where we also know that the LG G Flex is set to be launched globally within this year. Well, we are glad to announce that such a day has finally arrived, where the first curved, flexing and self-healing smartphone in the world is now available to the masses outside of South Korea for the first time. It will hit key Asian markets (read: where the population have the financial firepower to pick it up without second thoughts) first such as Singapore and Hong Kong later this week.

Just to recap, the LG G Flex will feature a durable plastic OLED (P-OLED) HD display, in addition to a self-healing back cover which would make Wolverine proud, as it might just meant the end of day-to-day scratches. We simply cannot wait to test it out for ourselves in the long run to see whether it will be able to live up to its claims. Those who are in Singapore can place their pre-orders for the LG G Flex from December 8 onward, while folks in Hong Kong will have to wait for five more days before being able to wrap their hands around it then.
