Samsung Galaxy Express 2 Arrives At Vodafone UK

Samsung Galaxy Express 2 Arrives At Vodafone UKSamsung Galaxy Express 2 Arrives At Vodafone UKSamsung and Apple are two companies with very different philosophies – but somehow or rather, both of them seem to work pretty well, as they are corporate giants in their respective countries. Apple has just two smartphones under their name for the current iPhone generation, where the have remained with just a single iPhone model in the past, but their South Korean rival begs to differ. Samsung does seem to offer a phone for everyone, regardless of their budget or needs, and this time around, we are concentrating on what Samsung has to offer with the Samsung Galaxy Express 2 which has arrived at Vodafone UK.

The Samsung Galaxy Express 2 is said to be exclusive to Vodafone stores at launch, although additional retailers are set to follow. Expect it to arrive with a decent 4.5” qHD display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice, a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded via a memory card, and a 5-megapixel shooter. Apart from that, it will also boast of LTE connectivity to keep up with the ties, and you will also find Samsung’s slew of internal software including S Travel, S Translator and Story Album. No idea on pricing as at press time, but additional details should be forthcoming.

    Samsung announces Galaxy Express smartphone

Samsung does seem to be hell bent on occupying just about every single strata of the smartphone hierarchy, ranging from entry level to mid-range and high end models. I guess they are beginning to be the new Nokia, dominating the Android smartphone market just like how Nokia used to be the final word in featurephones. Of course, the smartphone landscape is a whole lot larger compared to just Android, as there are other contenders jostling for space such as iOS, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10. Having said that, we come face to face with a new mid-range Android smartphone from the South Korean conglomerate, namely the Samsung Galaxy Express.

The Samsung Galaxy Express has been touted to be a feature-rich multimedia powerhouse which will offer 4G LTE speed to just about everyone and anybody. Being a value-driven 4G LTE smartphone that was specially designed for the young social explorer, it will also be accompanied by the unique AllShare Play feature which allows a device-to-device remote sharing, letting you share and play content freely across Samsung Smart TV and Smart mobile devices.

Apart from that, there is also the inclusion of S Beam, which lets you share and transfer whatever files you want from your Galaxy Express over to another compatible device so that you can enjoy sharing in real time. Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) functions as a simple mirroring interface so that you can hook up your smartphone directly to any HD display for convenient and comfortable viewing, while Near Field Communication (NFC) paves the way for auto-transfer of text or data wirelessly to other NFC enabled devices.

As for the other hardware specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Express, they would include a crystal clear 4.5” Super AMOLED Plus screen, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded via a microSD memory card slot, all running on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time.

    Mid-range Samsung Galaxy Express Announced

GALAXY Express Product Image 1 633x640 Mid range Samsung Galaxy Express AnnouncedIf you’re looking to pick up a low-mid ranged Samsung device, you might be interested to learn that Samsung has announced the Galaxy Express which is expected to make its way across both Europe and Asia, although since Samsung did announce a Galaxy Express for AT&T back in September of 2012, we expect it might be called something different if it were to make its way stateside. It should not be confused with AT&T’s offerings as the specs do differ along with the design, with this particular model being reminiscent of the Galaxy S3 Mini. So, what can customers look forward to?

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Express will pack a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and a 4.5” WVGA Super AMOLED display. It will come with 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, both LTE and NFC connectivity, a 2,000mAh battery on board and will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running the show. No word on when exactly will the phone be launched, but Q1 2013 is a rough time frame. Hopefully Samsung will have more to share at MWC 2013 which will be taking place towards the end of February, so check back with us then for the details.

AT&T announces the Samsung Galaxy Express for $99.99

If you’re in the market for a smartphone with 4G LTE capabilities, but don’t want to spring for the higher-end Android devices, you might be interested to learn that AT&T has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Express. This Android handset will be priced at a pretty affordable $99.99 with a new two-year contract, and it will have some pretty modest specs to boot. For starters users can look forward to a 4.5” Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 2,000mAh battery, a 5MP rear-facing camera and it will also come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preinstalled. Granted this isn’t Android 4.1 or 4.2 Jelly Bean that everyone is talking about, but Android 4.0 should be good enough to get the job done. The Galaxy Express will also feature 4G LTE connectivity and S Beam, a feature also found on other Samsung phones like the Galaxy S3 that allows for data to be shared simply be touching compatible phones back to back. The Samsung Galaxy Express is expected to be available on the 16th of November. [Press release]

Samsung Galaxy Express heads to AT&T, we go hands-on

Samsung Galaxy Express heads to AT&T, we go handson

Samsung’s Galaxy Express got a bit of a short shrift last month, revealed alongside a slew of other Samsung AT&T 4G LTE phones and not getting its own day in the sun. Here we are at AT&T’s New York City event, providing that sun (albeit on a rainy evening). The 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen looks great, even running the aging Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, and the 1.5 GHz dual-core processor is no slouch at speedily navigating the OS. The rear and front cameras leave a bit to be desired, with just 5-megapixels out back and 1.3 up front, but let’s be honest — you’re not exactly looking for a top of the line camera in a Galaxy Express, are you? It’ll be launching later this year on AT&T, though pricing and an exact release date have yet to be confirmed. Follow us past the break for a quick video of the device, won’t you?

AT&T 4G LTE adds Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Tab 2 101, Galaxy Express and Galaxy Rugby Pro

Of the four big US carriers, AT&T’s always been a solid go-to for variety across its wireless product portfolio. And today, the operator’s welcoming a gaggle of Android devices from Samsung to bolster its 4G LTE offerings. Headlining this galactic quartet is the Galaxy Note II, the company’s 5.5-inch phablet sequel which, though previously announced, has yet to receive a solid ship date. Also sharing that spotlight is an actual tablet, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and two new smartphones: the Galaxy Express and Galaxy Rugby Pro. While that latter handset is a mere update to the rugged, water-, shock- and dust-proof OG Rugby Smart, the Express is a fresh 4.5-inch ICS device that reps a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and considerable 2,000mAh battery. All are said to be arriving within the “coming months” which, in non-PR garble, should translate to a pre-holiday release. Check out the official presser after the break.
