How would you change Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1?

DNP Samsung Galaxy Note 101 review

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 promised plenty, but when we reviewed it, it didn’t quite hit all of its marks. Maybe it was the high price when judged against its plastic chassis, or perhaps that our reviewer really wanted a better display than the 1,280 x 800 LCD that was provided. On the upside, the unit’s multitasking prowess can’t be dissed, but we did gripe that it was still using Ice Cream Sandwich rather than Jelly Bean. Still, we’re sure plenty of people purchased this thing, so why not tell us what you liked and more importantly, what you would have changed?

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Medical Hub Edition Launched For Medial Students In South Korea

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Medical Hub Edition Launched For Medial Students In South KoreaSchools are getting more high-tech these days and if you’re a student planning to take up medicine in South Korea, Samsung has a tablet right up your alley. The tablet is essentially the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, with the main difference being that this is the Medical Hub Edition, and as its name implies, this particular tablet will come preloaded with medical dictionaries for medical students that they can refer to. The medical apps will also make use of the S Pen feature, allowing students to identify the correct body parts/organs and even color them in. Somehow I can’t help but feel that coloring things in should have been over and done with back when we were 8 or 10, but perhaps this might help with the learning process, who knows? The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Medical Hub Edition will be priced at ₩799,000 which is around $725 and there is no word if this tablet will be seeing a release outside of South Korea.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 available on Verizon March 7th for $600

Verizon Galaxy Note 101 available March 7th for $600

We’ve known that the Galaxy Note 10.1 was destined for Verizon Wireless as early as CES two months ago, but now Big Red has finally supplied us with details on when and how much. The carrier will begin offering the Note 10.1 this Thursday, and all it will cost you is a mere $600 for the privilege of calling it your very own. To recap, Verizon’s version will offer Android 4.1 with cascading Multi-Window support, a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, 7,000mAh battery and — naturally — the carrier’s huge logos taking up the most space on the back.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE Comes In Garnet Red

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE Comes In Garnet RedSamsung has decided to throw in another color where the Galaxy Note 10.1 with LTE model is concerned, introducing this tablet in a shade of Garnet Red. The South Korean consumer electronics giant intends to position this dark cardinal-colored tablet as the ideal material, shaping up in time for Valentine’s Day, where they hopefully think that it would be appealing enough to move the hearts (and subsequently, pockets) of one to make a carefully weighed decision of purchasing a new tablet for their other half.

The Garnet Red version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with LTE will be made available to all three mobile carriers in the US, while other markets worldwide should be picking up the slack in due time. We do wonder whether this marketing strategy would work or not in the long run, as the Galaxy Note 10.1 with LTE is not exactly Nintendo DS material, where folks would flock to make a purchase each time a different color or livery is released.

Sprint To Offer Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 With LTE?

sprint gsn101 Sprint To Offer Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 With LTE?It was earlier this month when Verizon Wireless revealed to folks living in the US that they will be carrying the spanking new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet with LTE support, which means you ought to be able to wrap your fingers around one pretty soon. Well, Sprint is not one to remain far behind its competitors, and the Now Network has announced that they too, will be carrying a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for the masses, considering how a Sprint-specific version of the tablet has already received the nod of approval from the folks over at the FCC.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 from Sprint will come with the model number SPH-P600 (SPH always points toward Sprint, just like how their Galaxy Note 2 was the SPH-L900, while the Galaxy S3 is known as the SPH-L710, etc.), not to mention coming with LTE connectivity that is compatible with Sprint’s network as well. Do expect Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to ship with Sprint’s Galaxy Note 10.1 right out of the box.

Samsung brings Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 tablets

When it comes to modern day devices, there is nothing quite like making sure it runs on the latest software update so that it will “purr” along nicely, and this is what Samsung intends to do with their latest release of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to two of their tablets which was introduced not too long ago – the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. The thing is, only Wi-Fi versions of these models will be able to enjoy the Jelly Bean update, so owners of the cellular versions will have to play the patience card and wait.

As some of us might already know, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will bring with it a suite of performance improvements, in addition to the introduction of Premium Suite that had made the Galaxy Note 2 all the more productive. Premium Suite will boast a collection of new features which will further upgrade multi-tasking and productivity, all the time enhancing personalization and offering new levels of creativity. Users are then able to enjoy improved S Pen support in addition to the ability to easily open and resize multiple apps, letting one view them from across the screen, layered on top of each other.

There are also other features which have been introduced so that the capabilities of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 will be boosted, including the Multi Window feature which enables users to experience a dual view, running two apps side-by-side on the screen. Cascade View, on the other hand, lets users freely resize, move and pin selected applications in multiple views, making sure they can run simultaneously or while operating the home-screen. This will definitely resonate with folks who are so used to working on a PC, and watch the productivity bar spike!

Unfortunately, there is still no word on when the cellular models of the Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 will be updated. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 Will Hit Verizon With 4G LTE And Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

galnote101

Samsung just announced that its Galaxy Note 10.1 is headed to Verizon with 4G LTE connectivity. And if that weren’t enough, the S-Pen-enabled tablet will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

If you are unfamiliar with the GalNote 10.1, it brings the screen real estate of a tablet to the creative power afforded by the Galaxy Note smartphone. By including support for the Wacom-esque S-Pen stylus, Samsung hopes to provide a new level of personalization and creativity to the digital experience.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 packs 2GB of RAM and a 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor under the hood, and comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flavors with support for further storage expansion via microSD support. It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera for video chat.

You can pick one up in both black and white, though it’s unclear if both colors will be available in Verizon’s 4G version. We’re unsure about the date and pricing but we’re waiting to hear more.

Samsung has majority shares in TVs, smartphones, and is a leader in appliances, cameras, etc. but tablets are a new territory for the ancient company. Expanding distribution through Verizon while adding support for the carrier’s blazing 4G LTE network only makes sense when the iPad continues to dominate the tablet market.

LG Seeking Injunction Against Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

galaxy note 10.1 lead LG Seeking Injunction Against Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1When it comes to seeking injunctions against each other, Apple and Samsung come to mind, although lately it seems that there are other companies besides Apple who are interested in seeing some of Samsung’s products potentially banned from going on sale. According to a report, it seems that LG has filed an injunction against Samsung and they are seeking to have the Galaxy Note 10.1 banned from being sold, claiming that the tablet infringed upon LG’s patents.

The patent in question is also display related, and in this case pertains to a display technology embedded in the panel itself which is said to help enhance the visual quality regardless of the angle it is viewed at. This isn’t the first rocket fired by either company as Samsung has earlier this month sued LG for allegedly infringing upon seven of their patents regarding Samsung’s displays. According to an LG spokesperson, the company “seeks to completely stop the sale, manufacture, and importation” of the Galaxy Note 10.1. Samsung on the other hand seems to think that these claims are “unjustified”.
