Samsung’s 12.2 Inch Tablet Swings By The FCC Again

Samsungs 12.2 Inch Tablet Swings By The FCC Again

Samsung is expected to take the tablet world by storm next year. It is expected to focus a lot more on the tablet market in 2014, and apparently launching tablets with large displays is on top of its agenda. The company is already rumored to be working on multiple large tablets, one of them is a 12.2 inch offering. The LTE variant of this tablet has already made the customary FCC pit stop, this time around, the standard non-LTE variant of Samsung’s 12.2 inch tablet stops by the FCC. Drawings accompanying the filing reveal that the tablet will come with stylus support.

The tablet is said to be a part of the Galaxy Note family, which would explain the stylus support. Its moniker is believed to be Galaxy Note 12.2. Apart from an expected 2,560×1,600 display, the tablet may also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 3GB of RAM. It remains to be seen if the tablet is going to come running Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Recent rumors suggest that Samsung’s 12.2 inch tablet goes in production by the end of this year, the company is expected to release it in the first quarter of 2014. Pricing and availability information is scarce at this point in time. Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 Spotted At Bluetooth SIG

Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 Spotted At Bluetooth SIGOver the past few months, we heard the rumors and have even seen the leaks where it has been suggested that Samsung could be working on a Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet device. IFA then came around and many expected Samsung to unveil the tablet then, but it did not make an appearance and now thanks to a Bluetooth SIG sighting, we’re guessing that the device was probably in its early stages of development which might explain why it was missing from Samsung’s IFA announcement, although now we’re not sure when Samsung could unveil the new tablet. CES 2014, perhaps?

In any case while the specifications and features of the tablet have yet to be announced, it has been rumored that it will sport a 12.2” display with a 1.9GHz octa-core processor under the hood, presumably one of Samsung’s Exynos processors. It will also pack 3GB of RAM and a display resolution of 2560×1600 and will come with S Pen support. No word on which version of Android it will run on, but given that the device has yet to be announced, hopefully when it is launched we will see it come with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat preinstalled.

Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 Inch SM P900 Tablet Image Leaked

It was back in July when we first spotted the high-end SM-P900 12.2 inch tablet from Samsung. Later in the same month it was rumored that testing and evaluation of the tablet had already begun. Two variants of the Galaxy Note 12.2 are expected, a Wi-Fi only variant and a 4G LTE variant. The display is said to have a 2,560×1,600 pixel resolution. The first image of the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet has leaked online, though there’s no way to confirm the image’s authenticity, so take it with a grain of salt.

Even though it has repeatedly been rumored that the new 12.2 inch tablet from Samsung will be unveiled at the IFA conference in Berlin, the company itself didn’t mention anything about its new tablet when it was laying out plans for the new phablet and smartwatch it is launching on September 4th. The Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet is said to be powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 5 octa processor. Since the tablet belongs to Samsung’s 9x series, it is likely to be a flagship product, Samsung’s flagship devices have traditionally been part of the 9x series.
