Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Pictured Next To Galaxy Note 3

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Pictured Next To Galaxy Note 3We have been hearing rumors about a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite for a while now, and while we cannot be certain when the handset will be launched, we expect that MWC 2014 which is next month will be a good candidate. That being said, thanks to a newly leaked photo obtained by the folks at SamMobile, we now know how the handset might look like, at least when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, its bigger brother. For those hearing about the Galaxy Note 3 Lite for the first time, the device is expected to be a slightly smaller and slightly less powerful version of the Galaxy Note 3.

As you can see in the image above, the handset will come with a slightly smaller display at 5.55” versus the Note 3’s 5.7” display. Interestingly enough despite the handset supposedly being a cheaper version of the Note 3, recent rumors have suggested that the handset will come with a hexa-core chipset, the first of its kind, that will continue to rely on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, meaning that there will be two 1.7GHz cores and four 1.3GHz cores which will alternate depending on how much processing power is needed, ultimately saving battery life in the process.

The Galaxy Note 3 Lite is also rumored to feature S Pen support, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 3,100mAh battery, and a microSD card slot for additional storage. No word on which version of Android Samsung will choose to go with the Galaxy Note 3 Lite, but hopefully we will see Android 4.4 KitKat or newer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Could Feature A Hexa-Core Chipset

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Could Feature A Hexa Core ChipsetBack in 2013, Samsung made waves when they announced their Exynos 5-series of octa-core processors, although technically it was still four cores as this relied on the big.LITTLE technology. Later in the year we started hearing about how companies such as MediaTek were looking to develop true octa-core processors, where all eight cores would be used at once, as opposed to two sets of four cores that are swapped around depending on the situation. Interestingly enough as much as it would seem that octa-cores are the way of the future (and 64-bit chipsets), it would seem that leaked documents have suggested that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 3 Lite will be the first phone in the world to utilize a hexa-core setup.

What does this mean? Does it mean we can expect all six cores to be powered at once? Maybe not as this appears to be still take advantage of ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture. According to the documents obtained by GSMArena, the hexa-core setup will include two 1.7GHz cores, and four 1.3GHz cores, which presumably will be used for less intensive tasks, while the beefier and speedier cores will be used for more demanding activities, such as playing games and so on. Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy Note 3 Lite, but based on the rumors and what we know, the handset could feature a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8MP camera, and will most likely be positioned as a lower-cost alternative to the Galaxy Note 3.

Hopefully we will learn more about the device at MWC 2014, so be sure to check back with us then for all the details.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Specs Found Hidden In Samsung’s Website

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Specs Found Hidden In Samsungs WebsiteSamsung has never been shy about launching multiple versions of its handsets, as we have seen in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which spawned different variants like the Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom, and the Galaxy S4 mini, which is why it is not surprising to learn that Samsung could be doing the same with its Galaxy Note 3 as well in the form of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite. The handset has been rumored to have entered production and is apparently scheduled for launch at MWC 2014, and according to the latest reports, it seems that the device’s specs might have inadvertently leaked thanks to a sighting on Samsung’s website.

The specifications have been found hidden in the code of Samsung’s website and assuming that these are indeed the final specs for the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 Lite, here’s what we might be able to expect come MWC 2014. The handset is said to pack a 5.7” 720p HD display and will also feature an 8MP rear-facing camera. The processor is unknown but according to the specs, the Galaxy Note 3 Lite will come with a Mali-T626 MP6 GPU, and will also feature a 3,200mAh battery that is removable. No word on LTE as some have speculated that this will not be a feature, and will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean preinstalled. These are hardly the most impressive specs but presumably its price tag will not be breaking the bank anytime soon either.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Reportedly Enters Production

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Reportedly Enters ProductionThe other day we reported that Samsung was rumored to be working on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite that could possibly see an announcement at MWC 2014. Based on the product’s name itself, we could only assume that this would be a slightly less powerful version of the Galaxy Note 3 and would be priced more affordably. According to recent rumors, it would seem as though Samsung has begun production on the Galaxy Note 3 Lite on the 12th of December, and according to the report, Samsung is expecting that the Galaxy Note 3 Lite will account for 30% of total Galaxy Note 3 sales.

Assuming that this is case, that would be a lot of Galaxy Note 3 Lite units sold! Last we heard the Galaxy Note 3 managed to achieve 10 million units sold in just 60 days alone, so if we’re basing it on that, it means that Samsung expects to sell at least 3 million units. Since the specs of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite is not official, the rumors are claiming that the handset will be keeping the same display at 5.68”, but it might switch from Super AMOLED to LCD, and will see its camera downgraded from 13MP to 8MP instead. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled and hopefully we will learn more at MWC 2014.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Rumored For MWC 2014 Announcement

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite Rumored For MWC 2014 AnnouncementIt wasn’t too long ago that Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 3, the successor to last year’s Galaxy Note 2. Given the specs of the device, it was priced at a premium but the good news is that if you do not have the cash to splash but would like to have a Galaxy Note-like device, you might be interested to learn that Samsung is reportedly planning a Galaxy Note 3 Lite that will debut at MWC 2014. Earlier we had reported on a Samsung device that was spotted in shipping manifests that went by the model number SM-N7505. According to SamMobile, they are “confirming” that this device is indeed the Galaxy Note 3 Lite.

As we mentioned in our earlier report, there were two display sizes mentioned. One was at 5.49” and the other at 5.7”. Apparently Samsung is still testing both sizes and it is unclear as to which size Samsung will go with in the end. Other rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite includes a possible downgraded camera which will be at 8MP instead of the 13MP on the original Galaxy Note 3. The display could also see a change from Super AMOLED to LCD. As it stands the rumors claim that Samsung has Galaxy Grand Lite that will also debut at MWC 2014.
