Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Specs Purportedly Leaked

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Specs Purportedly Leaked

Back at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5. There had been a lot of rumors about the expected specifications prior to the announcement, and not all rumors turned out to be true. Since then many have been wondering what this means for the Galaxy Note 4, and if its possible that the popular phablet might not come with all that its expected to. Partial Galaxy Note 4 specs have been purportedly leaked, but its still too soon to be certain of what Galaxy Note 4 has in store.

Folks at CNMO claim that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is going to have a 1,440×2,560 Quad HD display. This is one of the most rehashed rumors about the Galaxy S5, but ultimately it came with a full HD display. Its not surprising that the 2K speculation is now focused on the Note 4, given that the S5 let everyone who was wishing for it down.

It is also claimed that Galaxy Note 4 is going to be dustproof and waterproof, just like the Galaxy S5. This would be the first time the phablet would be able to better resist the elements. Not much else is known as yet. It is unclear if Samsung intends to keep the faux leather back it introduced last year. Given that it has extended it to laptops as well, there’s a chance that faux leather might not go anywhere.

Samsung usually unveils a new iteration of the Galaxy Note phablet at IFA in Berlin. This isn’t due until September, so we have quite a bit of waiting to do.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Could Sport Three-Sided Display

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Could Sport Three Sided DisplayThe Samsung Galaxy S5 has yet to hit the market, let alone been announced, but it seems that rumors of a Galaxy Note 4 have begun to surface. According to the rumors from the Korean media, word on the street has it that Samsung could be launching the Galaxy Note 4 which a three-sided display. If you’re wondering what that looks like, it’s basically a screen that will wrap around the edges of the phone (as pictured above), essentially putting the display on the edges as well as on the front of the device at the same time. It is an interesting concept and in the past we’ve seen how these side-screens can be used for different tasks, such as media player controls and such.

Interestingly enough, the report also claims that Samsung will be testing the waters with the Galaxy Note 4 and will only manufacture about a million units. We’re not sure why Samsung would do that given that the Galaxy Note series has typically been well-received, but then again given that the Galaxy Round wasn’t exactly a stellar success, perhaps Samsung has decided to err on the side of caution. It will be interesting to see if the Galaxy Note 4 will indeed feature this alleged three-sided display as not only would it make it an interesting design, but would provide us a new and unique way of interacting with our devices, but until then take it with a grain of salt.

Galaxy Note 4 May Come With A Wraparound Display

Galaxy Note 4 May Come With A Wraparound Display

It has only been a few months since Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was released to the public. This particular lineup was quite monumental in pushing the phablet phenomenon forward so much so that customers are now increasingly tilting towards smartphones with rather large displays. One might wonder what’s next in store for the Galaxy Note lineup, it could be something amazing. There’s a possibility that the Galaxy Note 4 may tout a wraparound display.

Samsung’s mobile division’s chief Lee Young Hee says that the company wants to target consumers who want more professional use and those who are willing to spend more for mobile devices. It is believed that Galaxy Note 4 will be focused towards the high-end segment of the market, pitched particularly to those customers who don’t mind spending extra as long as the device lives up to their expectations. A wraparound display would allow users to read messages at an angle, there won’t be a bezel. Galaxy Note 4 will really be in a class of its own if it comes with a wraparound display and no other manufacturer beats Samsung to the market first on this technology. According to reports, the next generation Galaxy Note phablet isn’t due until the second half of 2014, which means that Samsung is sticking to its traditional release cycle.

Samsung Galaxy S5 And Galaxy Note 4 Concepts

Samsung Galaxy S5 And Galaxy Note 4 Concepts It has been “confirmed” not too long ago that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be making its way to MWC that is happening in Barcelona later next month. Well, having said that, it was also recently that Samsung has submitted yet another design patent which first saw light in August last year. Originally speculated to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s design, it was no longer the case when the actual Galaxy Note 3 was introduced recently. Hence, what we see above could very well be the next generation of the Galaxy S series, which is the Samsung Galaxy S5, as well as the Galaxy Note 4 by extension.

What you see above happens to be the design based on the patent applications that were given some creative injection thanks to a certain Ivo Maric, having come up with such a concept. Similar to the sketches in the patent application, Maric’s smartphone or phablet would include a curved display on each side of the device. Just bear in mind that conceptual models would remain just that, a concept, until the real deal is released. All in all, we should expect the Galaxy S5 as well as the Galaxy Note 4 to be revealed to the masses later this year.

Samsung Patent Hints At Galaxy Note 4′s Design

Samsung Patent Hints At Galaxy Note 4s DesignMight it be too soon to start talking about a Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Given the success of Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of phablets, it is expected that the South Korean tech giant could be planning a successor to the Galaxy Note 3 which we can only assume will launch later this year, but what will it look like? While specs and features are important aspects to consider, design is another important part of purchase decisions as well. After all having a powerful phone in an ungly design is a bit of a put off, don’t you think? Well according to a patent filed by Samsung (discovered by SammyToday), it shows a design of a handset that could clue us in as to what the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might look like.

Given that the patent doesn’t actually mention a particular device, one could argue that this design could be for just about any phone from Samsung. However the telling feature would be its slot for the S Pen stylus which has typically accompanied Samsung’s Galaxy Note handsets. Of course one could also make the argument that perhaps it could be the Galaxy S5’s design and that the handset could incorporate S Pen support, but why would Samsung want to take away the differentiating factor from the Galaxy Note series? In any case the patent’s design shows off a more curved handset compared to previous generations, and to a certain extent we’re kind of digging it.

Could this really be the design of the Galaxy Note 4? It’s hard to tell but assuming that it is, what do you guys make of it? Is this a design you could get on board with?

Galaxy S5 And Galaxy Note 4 Might Have PLS LCD Displays

Galaxy S5 And Galaxy Note 4 Might Have PLS LCD Displays

There has already been a lot of speculation about the flagship devices that Samsung is due to release in 2014. The company is expected to release Galaxy S5 ahead of schedule, and already we have heard quite a bit about what its likely to tout under the hood. Apart from the rumors of a 64-bit Exynos 6 processor and a 20 megapixel camera, a latest one coming out of Korea suggests that Samsung might not use AMOLED panels for next year’s flagship. In fact, the company is rumored to use PLS LCD displays for both the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4.

The company is apparently making this decision so as to reduce production costs by as much as 20 percent. PLS LCD panels are already used in a number of Samsung devices such as the Nexus 10 and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets. It remains to be seen how consumers will react to this decision, that is if Samsung decides to stick with it and opt for PLS LCD displays. OLED displays are no doubt one of the biggest selling points of the high-end flagship Galaxy devices. On the other hand, recent rumors about the Galaxy S5 display suggest that it will tout a 2K resolution. So this is far from being confirmed at this stage, and with no official statement from Samsung itself, its best to take such rumors with a grain of salt.

Samsung 2014 Flagship Devices Expected To Have 16MP Cameras

Samsung 2014 Flagship Devices Expected To Have 16MP Cameras

As this year approaches its end, speculation about 2014 has started making the rounds. We have already heard a few theories about what to expect from Samsung in 2014, latest reports coming in from Korea suggest that all Samsung 2014 flagship devices will have similar cameras, 16 megapixels possibly accompanied by optical image stabilization. Basically what this means is that if the Galaxy S5 comes with a 16 megapixel camera, it is highly likely that the Galaxy Note 4 will tout it as well. Though it won’t come as a surprise, Samsung has always used the same camera in its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships.

A report suggests that the company has placed orders for 181 million 16 megapixel camera modules. The number contradicts another recent report, which claimed that Samsung only aims to sell 126 million high-end devices, which would include all flagships, in 2014. So why would the company order 55 million additional modules when it doesn’t aim to sell that many units? Could this mean that the company really announce that premium Galaxy F smartphone we have been hearing about? Too soon to say now, besides, these speculative reports must always be taken with a grain of salt. The previous report suggested that Samsung is going to focus more on tablets and low end smartphones next year.
