Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 And Galaxy S4 Gets 100% Recyclable Retail Boxes

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 And Galaxy S4 Gets 100% Recyclable Retail BoxesWe have already reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in great detail, and for those who wanted to pick it up, you would have been able to do so since yesterday for $399.99 a pop from various retailers, of course. Well, just as everyone wants to take the trouble to go green, so too, do the folks over at Samsung, where they have decided to ship the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in what they deem as 100% recyclable retail boxes. Of course, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is not the only device from the South Korean manufacturer to come in a fully recyclable retail box, but the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4, too.

This is nice to know, and it might even influence those fence sitters who were mulling over whether they should pledge their hard earned money into either one of these devices. Of course, the Nature UX interface that sees action on their products will be greatly complemented by the use of 100% post-consumer recycled paper in their respective retail boxes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Available On April 11 For $399.99

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Available On April 11 For $399.99

As you can probably tell from the review that published earlier this morning, today is when Samsung officially unveiled its Galaxy Note 8.0 for the U.S. market. Even though we already knew what to expect from the Galaxy Note 8.0 from Samsung’s unveiling at MWC 2013, Samsung is announcing where and when you can pick it up, and of course for how much.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 will be available two days from today on April 11 across a number of major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, h.h. gregg, Newegg, P.C. Richard & Son, Staples and TigerDirect for $399.99 MSRP. Accessories for the Note 8.0 will be available in mid-April and will include Book Covers in white, grey, pink or green, as well as USB and HDMI adapters, and a microUSB travel charger. (more…)

Black Galaxy Note 8.0 Coming

Black Galaxy Note 8.0 ComingHmm, it does seem as though the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which has been seen by many to be the upcoming competitor and soon-to-be bitter rival of the iPad mini, to be a tablet worth checking out, and we have only seen white colored versions of it to date.

The folks over at PhoneArena, however, have managed to receive an image of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 that comes in Charcoal Black from an anonymous tipster (it always works this way for some reason). First announced at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Spain, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will rely on a 8.0” TFT display and runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean that has the Touch Wiz Nature user interface on top of it, aided by an 8-megapixel camera, a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor that zips along at 1.6GHz, and 2GB RAM. Do you think Charcoal Black suits you better, or would you like to see other colors instead, just as any self-respecting consumer electronics device should?

The Engadget Interview: Samsung’s Nick DiCarlo talks Galaxy Note 8 at MWC 2013

The Engadget Interview Samsung's Nick DiCarlo talks Galaxy Note 8 at MWC 2013

The Galaxy Note 8 — it’s the next logical step in Samsung’s ongoing Note saga, and it finally launched in Barcelona. We spoke with Nick DiCarlo, VP of Product Planning for Samsung mobile, about the company’s latest tablet. He mentioned that the voice capability, which is a very polarizing feature for some, was a common request among customers. It’s unclear if the US carriers will keep this functionality intact, but he suggested that you, dear readers, might be able to sway them by emailing in. We discussed some of the Note 8’s other selling points, such as the S Pen-sensitive buttons (finally!) and the IR blaster, which we think is located in the wrong place (the right edge instead of the top) — possibly the result of Peel‘s landscape-centric remote control app. Design was an other area we touched upon, and something we feel Samsung’s been complacent about this past year. Materials and build quality just don’t do the company’s products justice, especially on flagships like the Galaxy S III and Note devices. Mr. DiCarlo acknowledged our concerns but pointed out that the entire Galaxy line is light, thin and durable, something everyone wants in a quality smartphone or tablet. Let’s see what the Galaxy S IV brings to the table, right? Until then, watch our video interview after the break.

Samsung Plans To Sell 1 Million Galaxy Note 8.0 Tablets Each Month

Samsung Plans To Sell 1 Million Galaxy Note 8.0 Tablets Each Month

Samsung confirmed earlier this year it planned to unveil its Galaxy Note 8 at Mobile World Congress, and the company did just that earlier this week as they look to directly compete with the iPad Mini. And now that MWC is officially over, Samsung is reportedly very confident in its ability to sell the Android-powered tablet.

According to Taiwanese site DigiTimes, Samsung is aiming to ship around one milling units of the Galaxy Note 8.0 every month. This isn’t the first time the company has shown its confidence in selling its Galaxy products as earlier this year, they believed they would sell 10 million Galaxy S4 smartphones every month.

We know a lot of you like the Galaxy Note 2 and the iPad Mini’s success shows there’s a market for smaller tablets. But would this translate to one million Galaxy Note 8.0 sales on a monthly basis after it’s released? Only time will tell, although we think Samsung may be overshooting the amount of Galaxy Note 8.0s it’ll sell on a monthly basis.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Price, Release Date Leak [Rumor]

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Price, Release Date Leak [Rumor]

It shouldn’t be a big surprise at this point Samsung is planning to deliver an 8-inch version of its Galaxy Note line of tablets, considering we’ve seen a number of leaked images with the device being confirmed by Samsung earlier this year. All we need right about now is for Samsung to officially unveil the Galaxy Note 8.0, which we are hearing may take place at the end of March.

The possible reveal date comes from Tablet.bg who has both the release date and price of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0. According to them, the Wi-Fi version will be priced roughly at $478. The 3G Galaxy Note 8.0 is expected to sell for roughly $594, both prices originally being revealed in Bulgarian leva, which we’re sure you are fresh out of at this point.

Both prices are higher than what Apple is currently asking for its iPad Mini as its Wi-Fi version retails for $329 and 3G version $459. We certainly enjoy the Galaxy Note devices, especially the Galaxy Note 10.1, but if Samsung goes through with this pricing for the Galaxy Note 8.0, we’re not sure if potential Galaxy Note customers would be willing to pay that much for their 8-inch tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accidentally Revealed In Promotional Ad

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accidentally Revealed In Promotional Ad

We know Samsung is working on an 8-inch tablet in the Galaxy Note family which we have a feeling will be making its debut at MWC later this month. Three variants are expected when Samsung finally unveils the device and we’ve seen photos of the device leaked on the Internet, but the company may have just ruined its own reveal by possibly leaking the Galaxy Note 8.0 in a promotional image.

The origins of the possible leak came from yesterday’s announcement of making a red Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE available just in time for Valentine’s Day. According to the eagle-eyed readers of SammyHub, the small tablet that is hanging above the chef’s head may just be the Galaxy Note 8.

The tablet in question certainly isn’t large enough to be considered a Galaxy Note 10.1. The tablet also matches with the leaked images that were previously leaked. If that isn’t a shot of the Galaxy Note 8, then Samsung may have trolled the Internet by throwing up a completely fictional tablet in their promotional images. Chances are the tablet in question is indeed the Galaxy Note 8, which we still don’t know why exactly Samsung decided to place it in their ad for the red Galaxy Note 10.1 to begin with.

Report: Samsung Galaxy 8.0 Will Be Available In Three Variations

Report: Samsung Galaxy 8.0 Will Be Available In Three Variations

We know Samsung is planning on releasing an 8-inch version of its Samsung Galaxy Note, which will act as a smaller version of its Galaxy Note 10.1. We’ve even seen some leaked photos of the Galaxy Note 8.0, but today, we’re hearing potential customers may have a number of options to consider when purchasing the purchasing the 8-inch tablet.

No – you won’t be able to purchase your Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in Hot Rod Red or Peppermint Pink. Instead, the variations we could expect are the GT-N5100 (Wi-Fi + 3G), GT-N5110 (Wi-Fi only), and GT-N5105 (Wi-Fi + 3G + LTE) with each of these planning to be released in Europe, although we’re sure a U.S. release is planned, too.

We expect Samsung to announce its Galaxy Note 8.0 some time during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month. Judging by previous leaks, we could see it running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and feature a 1280 x 800 resolution, an S Pen stylus, quad-core 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, microSD card slot and a 4,600mAh battery.
