Telltale Galaxy Note Documents Spotted On T-Mobile’s Website Ahead Of Launch

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-007

Well, if you needed any more proof that the Galaxy Note will soon make an appearance on T-Mobile’s store shelves, take a gander at this.

TmoNews has discovered that a slew of Galaxy Note related documents can be found by searching for — what else? — “Galaxy Note” on T-Mobile’s website. Sadly, there’s no word yet on whether or not that rumored July 11 release date is still in the cards.

The documents run the gamut from explanations of the device’s specs and features to a software overview to a how-to guide for using enormous handset. All in all there are 12 such documents detailing various aspects of Samsung’s fabulous phablet, though there’s little telling what specifically is inside of them at this point.

You see, when trying to open up the documents proper, users are prompted to login to their T-Mobile Support Community accounts, and all they get for bounding over that hurdle is an error message saying they aren’t authorized to see the document. It’s certainly a bummer that we can’t pore over those documents to see how (if at all) the T-Mobile version differs from its international and AT&T-bound relatives, but things aren’t all bad.

Some people are surely heartened to see that T-Mobile will soon be getting some big screen love (even though a brand new Galaxy Note may be just around the corner), and with any luck it’ll come bearing the same Ice Cream Sandwich update that the AT&T model just received. And for those of you who just can’t wait to surf on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network with Samsung’s hefty handheld, well, let’s say just a little elbow grease can go a long way.

Samsung Galaxy Note documents pop up on T-Mobile's site, grand entrance can't come soon enough

If there’s one thing we can be certain of, it’s this: T-Mobile’s been anything but cautious about keeping its own Galaxy Note variant under secretive wraps. In a matter of weeks, we’ve spotted it while paying Mr. Blurrycam a visit, making a short stop at the FCC offices and, most recently, showing its phablet self in some purported T-Mo press shots. And although this time it isn’t being as revealing as it has in previous occasions, it’s yet another sign that its eventual entrance into T-Mobile’s smartphone lineup is right around the corner. As a curious TmoNews reader found out, a quick, simple search for Galaxy Note within the Magenta site brings up a plethora of support documents for the device, including bits like software overview, call functionality, media, customization and specs. In case you were planning on snagging one of these once it launches, this might be a good way to become acquainted with the Samsung’s jumbo slab.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note ICS update coming tomorrow, offers Premium Suite

How much better will that Samsung Galaxy Note be when you have Ice Cream Sandwich on it? AT&T users are about to find out, as Samsung confirmed to us that the long-awaited upgrade will be knocking on their doors beginning tomorrow (with a few lucky testers getting it later today). As for the new features, the Galaxy Note’s latest refresh won’t offer anything we weren’t already expecting: in addition to the standard suite of ICS features, it’ll also come with the same Premium Suite we saw show up on the international Note a couple months ago. The new Suite offers some huge improvements in S-Memo and S-Note, as the latter is now integrated with Wolphram Alpha. Sadly, the software features we’ve seen highlighted in the Galaxy S III series (S-Beam, S-Voice, Smart Stay and so on) are nowhere to be found, but at least you’ll have plenty of other new items to keep you occupied for a while.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note spotted again

Galaxy Note T-MobileAn image of the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note was spotted not too long ago, and it looks like the phone has decided to rear its head again. The folks over at TmoNews recently got their hands on a poster showing Samsung’s Galaxy devices that are already available or will be available from T-Mobile and unsurprisingly we get another glimpse of the massive phone-tablet. Still no official confirmation on the device (it’s rumored to be arriving on August 8th) but if rumors about the Galaxy Note 2 being revealed this year are true – T-Mobile/Samsung better work hard on pushing out this device before it becomes outdated at launch.

The Samsung Galaxy Note was been selling pretty well for Samsung, seeing how its humongous screen and stylus probably made it a niche device in the eyes of most people. The availability of the phone on another US carrier would probably give a slight boost to its sales figures. How many of you are waiting for the Galaxy Note to arrive on T-Mobile?

How Big Is Too Big? Samsung’s New Galaxy Note Said To Sport 5.5-Inch Screen

attnote

I don’t know too many people who would look at the Galaxy Note and its 5.3 inch display and say “y’know, it would be great if this thing was just a little bigger,” and I now I know why. As it turns out, those people live in Korea, work for Samsung, and may have decided just that.

According to their usual unnamed sources, Korea’s MK Business News reports that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 will sport an even larger 5.5-inch display when its unveiled at Germany’s IFA 2012 trade show in August.

Naturally, the display isn’t all they’re said to be upgrading here. The next-gen Galaxy Note is also rumored to pack an unspecified quad-core processor (most likely an Exynos 4 Quad), and a 12 or 13 megapixel camera around the back instead of the 8 megapixel shooter as seen in the original. To top it all off, it’s said to run on Google’s newly-revealed Jelly Bean version of Android, though it’s unclear at this point how the company will be tweaking their UI to account for Jelly Bean’s new features.

So how much of a handful is thing going to be? Well, while the display has been stretched out a bit, the device itself isn’t expected to be significantly larger than the current Galaxy Note. Frankly, this seems like both a blessing and a curse — users who can comfortably wrap their mitts around the original model should do just fine, but that slightly larger display may make one-handed operation even less feasible than before.

Now I’m all for pushing limits and whatnot, but this just begs an obvious question: how big is too big? Most tablet manufacturers are loath to dip below the 7-inch barrier, and if this report holds true then Samsung is eagerly chipping away at the other side of that limit. Samsung’s success with the Galaxy Note has also prompted companies like LG to take up the super-sized phone challenge, so it’s very possible that phone screen sizes haven’t topped out just yet.

Samsung Galaxy Note II tipped for August reveal, 5.5″ screen

More information surrounding the Galaxy Note II has emerged. MK Business News reports that Samsung will bump the screen size on the Galaxy Note II to 5.5-inches, corroborating earlier reports. According to a source familiar with the matter, the device will be unveiled at IFA 2012, due to start on August 31st in Berlin, and will be running the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean.

The report goes on to say that the Note II will come with a quad-core processor and an upgraded camera, most likely in the 12- to 13-megapixel range. The screen may be seeing an increase to 5.5-inches, but the site notes that the actual size won’t be much bigger than the current Galaxy Note. That matches what GSMArena heard from a source not too long ago.

While the device will be shown off at IFA 2012, it isn’t expected to launch into retail until October. Previous reports have pointed towards an October launch, although more recently it was said that Samsung would be aiming for a September release ahead of the next iPhone. Previous rumors have also said the screen would use unbreakable plane technology, although it will supposedly be saved for another product down the road.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to be unveiled at IFA 2012?

Galaxy Note 2While the original Galaxy Note isn’t even a year old yet, it looks like we might be seeing a successor to the large Android phone in the near future – assuming the rumors about the device turn out to be true. Well, to kick start your Friday, we’ve got another rumor to add to the pot. According to the folks over at MK News and their sources familiar with the matter, the Galaxy Note 2 is said to be on schedule for launch in October, but it will be unveiled in late August – at IFA 2012 in Berlin.

Other details in the rumor mention that the phone won’t use Samsung’s unbreakable pan display technology, but will have a 5.5″ display, a 12 or 13-megapixel camera, a quad-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. August is just next month so we won’t have to wait too long to see if it’s true or not. Keep those fingers crossed!
