Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM Leaked

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM LeakedThe folks over at XDA Developers certainly have plenty of passion concerning their respective smartphones, and one of the defining handsets from Samsung in recent years would be the revered Samsung Galaxy S2 which proved to be quite the solid base for the Galaxy S3 and subsequently, the Galaxy S4 to propel the company forward. While we heard that the Galaxy S2 might not be getting the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, things are slightly different for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus which has had an alleged original ROM of the upcoming Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update leaked.

The alleged leaked ROM will be based on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, where it sports a built date of July 24. The thing is, there is no change log available for us to refer to at the moment, and neither has there been a list of the particular issues, should there be any, to watch out for. However, early adopters of this leaked ROM did mention a launcher, weather widget and lock screen that hails from the Samsung Galaxy S4, in addition to a performance that is a wee bit smoother than usual. Too bad there is no support for the coveted multi-window feature for Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus users. The official update should arrive soon in Germany first, before selected regions around the world get hold of it.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Hits Europe

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Hits EuropeHmmm, Samsung does seem as though they are hell bent on global domination, with word that just approximately one week after they launched the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus in South East Asia, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, also known by its model number i9105, has started to make an appearance in Europe, too. Not all of the continent would be able to get hold of this souped up version of the hugely successful Galaxy S2 though, as right now, only Germany, Finland, and Romania will carry the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus. A quick check with Amazon in Germany showed that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus would retail for €364 as an unlocked device.

Folks living in Finland would have to fork out a wee bit more for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, where online retailer Gigantti is asking for €378. The most affordable country would be in Romania, as Orange is offering the handset for €315 sans a contract. You ought to be able to choose from a couple of colors, but right now, only the blue shade seems to be made available to the masses. I guess those who want the white colored version will have to play the patience game for a little while more.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Announced

sgs2plus Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus AnnouncedWith it being 2013, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a device that’s almost two years old and it looks like Samsung isn’t quite ready to let go of it yet and has since announced the Galaxy S2 Plus. As far as the exterior design of the phone is concerned, it looks pretty much like the Galaxy S2, although it’s the internals of the phone that got a revamp. So what can you look forward to in the Galaxy S2 Plus? Well for starters the most notable improvement would be the fact that it comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on board, along with Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX. On the hardware front it will feature a 4.3” WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor accompanied by 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD and will come in an NFC and non-NFC version. Unfortunately at this time there is no word on pricing or availability, but if we had to venture a guess, and taking into consideration that the Galaxy S2 is relatively old, it would be safe to assume that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will not be burning a hole in your wallet.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus To Get NFC Chip (Rumor)

galaxy s2 plus nfc Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus To Get NFC Chip (Rumor)It seems that there are expectations in the industry that the yet unannounced Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will be on the receiving end of two different models, that is, the GT-i9105 and the GT-i9105P, with the latter all set to arrive with an NFC chip. This might be the “Plus” version of the original S2 i9100, but you will find that the i9105 is not going to be superior in any way due to the lack of superior specifications.

The processor will be a dual-core 1GHz processor, while carrying 8GB of internal memory. Well, the bright side would be that this Galaxy S2 Plus will have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running right out of the box, in addition to a 4.3-inch display at 800 x 480 resolution, with an 8-megapixel camera at the back with flash, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a body which has the dimensions of 125.3mm x 66.1mm x 8.98mm. Will NFC connectivity be a deal breaker for you, or would you decide to settle for something newer?

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Coming In 2013?

samsung_logoThere are whispers going around that Samsung has in store a spanking new version of the Galaxy S2 which will come your way in Chic White and Dark Blue shades, which would be the Galaxy S2 Plus, and it is going to arrive with just 8GB of internal memory sometime in the first quarter of next year. It seems that the very same rumor source cited the Chic White version of the Galaxy S2 Plus to arrive from week 3 onward, while the Dark Blue shade of the Galaxy S2 Plus is set to hit the mass markets a fortnight later.

Just to trace things back a wee bit, it was in August this year that the Galaxy S2 Plus was rumored to be on its way, and apparently, it was delayed because of two different handsets from the Galaxy family that were making their way to the market as well – the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini and the Samsung Galaxy Premier. What other information have been bandied about concerning the Galaxy S2 Plus? Well, it comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box, where it will also rely on the latest TouchWiz interface known as Nature UX. How much will it cost would be the main question most folks have on their minds, right after the availability date, and it seems that the Galaxy S2 Plus will be priced between the Galaxy S3 Mini and the Galaxy Premier.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus gets early 2013 release date?

Is it just me, or are some companies trying to introduce the “Plus” suffix into their devices as a lazy way of introducing minor upgrades to a particular device? We have had the HTC One X+, and heard about the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus in August (in addition to spotting a leaked image), so here is additional information on the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus. SamMobile claims that the GT-I9105 (aka Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus) will be arriving next year – on January 28th to be exact, and this deferral of its release date could be attributed to the commercial success of Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S3, as well as their previous smash hit, the Galaxy S2. Would you be hanging around for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus when it arrives, or do you think that the chances of picking up a Samsung Galaxy S3 is higher?

Samsung GT-I9105 spotted in a benchmark

The Samsung GT-I9105, which is also known as the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, has been spotted in a benchmark test which does seem to point towards a change in its hardware specifications. Now, benchmark figures should not be taken as the gospel truth when it comes to a device’s true capabilities in the real world, since everything in there is more or less within an artificial environment. GLBenchmark’s leak did point towards the GT-I9105 carrying a qHD display which supports a resolution of 960 × 540 pixels. Apart from that, it is touted to be powered by a 1.4GHz processor which presumably, will come with a couple of cores within in order to keep up with the times.

Needless to say, it makes perfect sense for the Samsung GT-I9105 to have at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system of choice. Benchmark results have so far confirmed the GPU as the PowerVR SGX 544MP. Anyone looking forward to what could be the next iteration of the Galaxy S2?

Possible Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus and Galaxy Premier GT-I9260 specs revealed

Samsung logoNot too long ago there were rumors suggesting that Samsung could be working on a Galaxy S3 Mini and a Galaxy S2 Plus, plus there were also an alleged leaked spec sheet belonging to the GT-I9260 which some have speculated could be the next-gen Nexus handset (although its specs did seem rather underwhelming). While specs on the Galaxy S3 Mini are still a no-show, the folks at SamMobile claim to have received a tip in their inbox which contains the specs of the Galaxy S2 Plus and the GT-I9260, which apparently has been given the “Galaxy Premier” moniker. Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus image spotted

Earlier this morning, we mentioned about the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini as well as the Galaxy S2 Plus, and here we are where you can see to your right, an image of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, thanks to VTR, a mobile carrier in Chile, spicing up the Interwebs in the way that South Americans only can. It does seem as though the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will come with a rather generous 4.5″ AMOLED touchscreen display which clearly nudges it closer towards phablet territory, in addition to being paired with a dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos processor. Rumored Galaxy S II Plus resurfaces adds purported specs and pictures

It’s been a long, long time since we first saw the unannounced Galaxy S II Plus show up in some leaked benchmarks. Today, however, Sammy’s souped-up flavor of that famed S2 is making the rounds on the interwebs once more, and better yet, we’ve got an idea of what it could look like physically come its official revelation. According to Chilean carrier VTR, Samsung’s Galaxy S II Plus will be sporting a 4.5-inch AMOLED display, which is said to be paired alongside a dual-core, 1.5GHz Exynos CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and an 8-megapixel rear camera — notably, the site’s also listing it as an Ice Cream Sandwich device, making it slightly different than what we’d seen previously in earlier benchmark scores. Either way, all signs point toward the Korean outfit being close to legitimately introducing its S II Plus sooner rather than later; while we wait for that to happen, though, the angled shots after the break will have to suffice.
