Android 4.3 Roll Out For International Galaxy S3 Resumes

Android 4.3 Roll Out For International Galaxy S3 Resumes

About a month back the much awaited Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3 was leaked online. Build XXUGMMJ9 was officially released a couple of days after it leaked, however Samsung ended up having to pause the roll out because users who had updated reported various issues. It seemed that Samsung had rushed the update, so then the roll out was halted and users’ patience was tested. Android 4.3 for international Galaxy S3 has started rolling out today, this time the build is XXUGMK6 and it won’t cause issues that its predecessor did.

Stock international variants of the Galaxy S3, GT-I9300, should receive the update over-the-air in stages, so it might take some time before the update becomes available in your region. The update brings support for Galaxy Gear, reduces lag, improves battery life and also features some camera enhancements. Despite the fact that the previous built featured Samsung Knox enterprise security suite, XXUGMK6 doesn’t seem to come with the suite. While users complained of Wi-Fi issues, poor multitasking, battery drain, random freezing and more when they updated their Galaxy S3 to the previous build, so far those who have installed the latest Android 4.3 update seem to be pretty happy with it. If you were scarred last time, its pretty safe to tap that update now.

Sprint Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Update Is Finally Out

Sprint Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Update Is Finally Out

After the botched initial release, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has been slowly making its way to customers in the U.S. Earlier this month the update was rolled out for U.S. customers however Samsung quickly halted it after receiving reports from various users that the update was causing a number of problems. This past week the update started rolling out once again, gradually. Sprint Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update is the latest to hit customers, who can now download it over-the-air.

The update ups core OS version to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and along with it brings a number of improvements and enhancements. First and foremost, Sprint Galaxy S3 users can finally pair a Galaxy Gear smartwatch with their smartphone. Several “premium suite” features have also been added, such as Group Play version 2.5, preloaded Samsung Link, Multi-Windows experience from the Galaxy S4 and a few other features. The update brings compatibility for Samsung Knox enterprise security suite as well. Sprint Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update is certainly an important one, its the first major update of its kind in seven months and users get to finally jump up from Android 4.1. Sprint is rolling out the update in stages, so you’ll have to be a little patient if the update notification hasn’t already been pushed to your Galaxy S3.

Android 4.3 Rolling Out For The AT&T Galaxy S3 (Again)

Android 4.3 Rolling Out For The AT&T Galaxy S3 (Again)Good news Samsung Galaxy S3 owners on AT&T, it looks like Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has begun rolling out for your hands (again). The update is a 600MB file and is available OTA, but given that 600MB is rather sizable, you might want to do this over WiFi rather than data as it could eat into your plan. The update comes with the build number I747UCUEMJB and will add support for Samsung’s smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear, KNOX security suite, improved performance , new camera modes, widgets, updated Samsung apps, and basically an improved overall experience for the Galaxy S3 which is a little over a year old now.

Prior to today’s update, the update had been temporarily halted after its initial rollout a couple of days ago. No word on why the update was halted, but apparently based on user reports, the update caused phones to lockup, lose WiFi connectivity, and a bunch of other issues that Samsung claimed that they would look into. Either way given that the update is making its way onto handsets once again, we can only assume that whatever issues were plaguing the previous update has since been addressed. If you have received the update, hit us up in the comments below to let us know how it is treating you!

Samsung Is Investigating Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Issues

Samsung Is Investigating Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Issues

It hasn’t been long since an official test build of Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3 was leaked online, this build was said to be quite similar to the one Samsung was due to publicly release. A few days after the leak, Samsung started to roll out Android 4.3 for international variants of the Galaxy S3, it was the very same build that had previously been leaked. The update roll out didn’t go so smoothly though, as numerous users who had updated their devices complained about issues caused after the update. As a result, Samsung halted the roll out. The company has said in a statement that it is currently investigating these issues.

The issues included reduced battery life, random device lockups, Wi-Fi connectivity issues and more. It is believed that Samsung might have rushed to get this update out the door, as it caught quite a few people by surprise when the update didn’t come with Samsung Knox security suite as initially promised. Samsung confirms that it has “temporarily suspended” the roll out and that the issues reported with the update are currently being investigated. No word as yet on when they’ll apply the required fixes and start rolling out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean once again for last year’s flagship smartphone. Its certainly a major update for Galaxy S3 owners, who’ve been waiting for quite a while to jump up from Android 4.1.2.

Android 4.3 Update For Galaxy S3 Might Have Been Halted

Android 4.3 Update For Galaxy S3 Might Have Been Halted

Earlier this month an official test build of the Android 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S3 was leaked online, it was said back then that the company was in the process of testing the update and ironing out bugs. A short while after the leak, Samsung started rolling out the same build for international variants of the Galaxy S3. It appears that there might be a few problems with said update, seeing as how most users who have installed it are now complaining about various issues. The issues seem to be quite major, users are noticing reduced battery life, performance lags, app crashes, Wi-Fi connection drops and even lockups of the device on the lockscreen which are only fixed by removing and reinserting the battery.

In light of all of these issues, it is possible that Samsung might have halted the rollout of Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3. Phones Review reports that the update was previously available for their device, but they initially ignored the notification to install it. They attempted updating today only to be told by the device that all of the latest updates are installed. Judging by this, it would be safe to assume that Samsung has halted the rollout. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if the same has been done with Android 4.3 for Galaxy Note 2, given the fact that both devices are almost identical in hardware and software. It would be best to hold off on updating the Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 right now, even if you’re able to, until word from Samsung comes in.

    Unofficial CM11 Android 4.4 KitKat For Galaxy S3 I747 And T999 Released

    Unofficial CM11 Android 4.4 KitKat For Galaxy S3 I747 And T999 Released

It was only a matter of time for source-built custom ROMs to be released, seeing as how Android 4.4 KitKat has already been released to AOSP. Google is yet to roll out the official update images for its supported existing Nexus devices, currently the only device out there right now running an official build is the Nexus 5. A lot of custom Android 4.4 KitKat ROMs have already been released, and the latest comes as an unofficial build of CyanogenMod 11 for Samsung Galaxy S3 I747 and T999, that’s the AT&T and T-Mobile variants, respectively.

Despite being source-built, this is a beta custom ROM that’s likely to have a few bugs, so if you want a daily driver that doesn’t have any quirks this probably won’t be the best choice for you. While most features are said to be working, the developer says that currently emoticons in keyboard when using Hangouts and front facing camera are broken in this particular build. These issues may be addressed in a future build. It goes without saying that flashing custom ROMs requires quite a bit of knowledge, not only will it void warranty, there’s a big possibility to things going awry if you don’t know what you’re doing. Proceed with installation only if you’re sure of what you’re doing. Download links for the unofficial CM11 Android 4.4 KitKat build for AT&T Galaxy S3 I747 and T-Mobile Galaxy S3 T999 have been added.

Android 4.3 Update For Galaxy S3 Being Rolled Out

Android 4.3 Update For Galaxy S3 Being Rolled Out

Samsung had initially promised that it would roll out the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3 by the end of October, however it didn’t. Even though the company missed the deadline it set itself, there hasn’t been that big of a delay. Samsung today started to roll out Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3. Since its a staged roll out, not all countries will receive it at once. Furthermore, carrier approval of said update might take additional time. One thing is for sure though, now, Samsung has finally got the ball rolling on Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3 owners.

As of this writing, the update has only been released in Ireland. Its actually the same XXUGMJ9 build that was leaked yesterday for the Galaxy S3 I9300. The update is without a doubt a big deal, seeing as how Galaxy S3 owners will jump straight from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.3, bypassing Android 4.2 altogether. The new firmware obviously comes with a lot of improvements and changes compared to the existing firmware. Among the various changes, Samsung also adds support for its Galaxy Gear smartwatch through this update. The theme is now much similar to that of the Galaxy S4, and there’s a new S-Voice as well, also from this year’s flagship. People who have carried branded versions of the Galaxy S3, particularly in the U.S., will have to wait a little longer to get the update on their devices. When it ultimately becomes available, the update will be offered for download over-the-air.

    Android 4.3 For Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Leaked

Android 4.3 For Galaxy S3 GT I9300 Leaked

Its not unusual for test builds of upcoming firmware updates to be leaked. A test build of Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 has been leaked online, making it the first such leak for last year’s flagship. Even though this Android 4.3 build I9300XXUGMJ9 is said to be stable, keeping in mind that this is after all a test build, there are bound to be a few bugs lurking around. Since flashing this firmware will wipe your device, it is recommended that you create a backup of all your data prior to proceeding with the installation.

The Android 4.3 update is a big deal for Galaxy S3 owners, seeing as how Samsung decided to disregard Android 4.2 altogether and upgrade directly to version 4.3 instead. Since its a test build, there exists the possibility that Samsung might add or remove features in the final build, which might take a few weeks to be released. One of the major differences this update brings is the core UI, which is now more in line with that found on Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S4. Launcher and widgets remain the same though, at least as far as this build is concerned. Samsung Knox is missing in this particular build as well, but it is expected that Knox might make an appearance in the final build. The leaked Android 4.3 build for Galaxy S3 can be downloaded from the leak’s source.

Samsung Apologizes To Chinese Customers For Galaxy S3 And Note 2 Problems

Samsung Apologizes To Chinese Customers For Galaxy S3 And Note 2 ProblemsWe’re not sure why,but it seems that China in particular seems to have been affected badly when it comes to malfunctioning smartphones and the services when it comes to dealing with them. For example Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, has in the past apologised to Chinese consumers for the way they dealt with repair and warranty enquiries for their iPhone, and now it looks like Samsung will be issuing their own apology as well. In a statement released on their website, Samsung was quoted as saying, “We welcome the scrutiny by the media. As a result of management problems, we have brought inconveniences to consumers, and we offer our sincere apologies.”

The phones in question are the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2, both of which have apparently been rather problematic for customers in China, with reports that both devices crash up to 30 times a day! Crashing once or twice on a daily basis is already unacceptable so we can only imagine the frustration that these users are having when it crashes 30 times. In any case the South Korea tech giant has announced that they will be offering affected customers repair for either device free of charge, and will refund those who have already paid for repairs, and worst case scenario, will offer a full replacement for devices that are still having issues after multiple repairs.
