AT&T Gloats Over On-Time Galaxy S4 Release

AT&T Gloats Over On Time Galaxy S4 ReleaseThey say never kick your opponent when he or she is down, but I suppose all’s fair when it comes to business rivalry. We do know that the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4 from Sprint has been delayed, and the smartphone itself is running into constrained supplies with the reason of high demand behind it. This is a good problem to have, as folks would see it that way, but the good people over at AT&T are more than happy to announce via Twitter that they will keep to their word and ensure that AT&T-bound Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones will arrive in-store at the announced date.

Not only that, future buyers who have finally made up their minds to pick up the device, but never really jumped aboard the whole pre-order bandwagon, would be reassured to hear that the Galaxy S4 will also be in-stock this coming April 27th as promised. It would be interesting to see how AT&T’s first mover advantage in this aspect would boost their bottom line this coming quarter.

Study suggests GALAXY S 4 display matches iPhone 5 quality

According to research study by Displaymate Technologies, the display on the new Samsung GALAXY S 4 significantly trumps the display on the Galaxy S III, and matches the iPhone 5‘s Retina display. Screens from all three phones were put under the microscope anad compared with one another, comparing brightness, subpixels, and a number of other factors.

Dr. Ray Soneira, owner of Displaymate Technologies, says that the GALAXY S 4 1080p 5-inch display is beautiful, and it packs in almost as many subpixels as the iPhone 5, and with the Samsung device’s PenTile layout, there are twice as many green subpixels as there are red and blue. Light reflection is also said to be as good or even better than the iPhone 5.

The Galaxy S 4′s display also uses a lot less power than its predecessor. The Galaxy S III chews up around 0.83W of power, while the GALAXY S 4 only uses 0.70W. That doesn’t quite beat out the iPhone 5′s 0.66W, but it’s really close for sure. The successor to the GALAXY S 4 may surpass the iPhone 5 in this respect if the trend keeps up, especially since OLED technology is still in its early phases.

As for the GALAXY S 4′s color gamut, it was found to be significantly smaller than the Galaxy S III’s color gamut. You want a small color gamut, and the GALAXY S 4′s stands at 132%, compared to the Galaxy S III’s 139% gamut. This makes the GALAXY S 4 display images that are less over-saturated. As for the iPhone 5, it stand at a cool 104%, but the improvement seen in the GALAXY S 4 is still noticeable nonetheless.

Samsung Galaxy S4 To Launch Without Knox Security Software

Samsung Galaxy S4 To Launch Without Knox Security Software

Samsung has already confirmed that due to high global demand for the Galaxy S4, the launch will suffer delays as supplies are constrained  Now it is being reported that the company won’t have Knox security software available at launch. Samsung showed off Knox at the Galaxy S4 launch event, its a software that provides enhanced security features for businesses who deploy Samsung’s latest flagship Android smartphone.

According to two people who are privy to the company’s plans, Samsung has delayed the release of Knox till summer. The company had said that this software will be available at launch, which is only a couple of days down the road, but the delay is inevitable as the company has reportedly decided to test the software further both internally and with its carrier partners. Samsung has confirmed the delay and said in a statement that while Knox’s entire framework components come standard on the Galaxy S4, full feature activation by solution providers and distribution channels will come at a later date. The company has refrained from providing a definitive release date for Knox security software.

U.S. Cellular Begins Selling Samsung Galaxy S4 On April 26

Samsung Galaxy S4 Supplies Constrained Due To High Demand

Samsung Galaxy S4 Supplies Constrained Due To High Demand

Earlier today we reported that T-Mobile Galaxy S4 had been delayed till April 29 and that Sprint too had announced Galaxy S4 delay. Both of these carriers will begin online sales first, there’s no word as yet when the device will reach their retail stores. Now Samsung has issued an official statement explaining that Galaxy S4 supplies are constrained because of the huge global demand. The company says that initial demand may be limited though it hopes to fulfill demands in the coming weeks.

We’ve normally seen supplies of Apple products being constrained as the Cupertino outfit depends upon various companies for components. Samsung manufactures most of the components that it uses in its products in-house, so it is a bit odd to hear that they’ll don’t have enough supply to meet the demand. It is also unusual because even in the past Samsung has had enough supplies, the Galaxy S4 is not their first hit smartphone, they’ve seen unprecedented demands before too so why the constrains now? Whatever the case maybe, at least they won’t be facing delays like the HTC one did.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 Available For Pre-Order Starting Tomorrow

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 Available For Pre Order Starting Tomorrow

Verizon Wireless subscribers who have been watching the delay drama unfold as both T-Mobile and Sprint have announced their Samsung Galaxy S4 launch date is getting pushed back slightly are probably waiting to hear some news of your own. Verizon recently said they’ll be launching the Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon this May and have even launched a sign up page for its customers to learn the latest on when it’ll be made available. Instead of announcing a delay like its competitors, Verizon has taken to its Twitter account to announce some good news for once in regards to the Galaxy S4.

No – it isn’t a release date, but it’s almost just as good as Verizon is announcing starting tomorrow, they’ll be accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on their website. Unfortunately, Verizon didn’t take this opportunity to announce when it would be expecting the Galaxy S4 to be available to its customers, but look at it this way: at least you don’t have to hear about any delays.
