Possible Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) Sample Photos Hit The Web

Possible Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT I9500) Sample Photos Hit The WebThe Samsung Galaxy S4 has to be one of the most anticipated smartphone launches as far as 2013 is concerned, and the rumors of the device, alleged specs and such have been flying off the handle. Now rumors have suggested that the Galaxy S4 will feature a 13MP rear-facing camera, much like Sony’s Xperia Z, and the folks at Androsym have stumbled across some photos on Google+ which appear to have been taken by a certain Samsung GT-I9500, which has been speculated to be the Galaxy S4. The photos have since been removed, but the folks at Androsym have provided some screenshots of the photos on Google+, along with the photos’ EXIF data. (more…)

Galaxy S4 Delay Due To Exynos 5 Issues?

Galaxy S4 Delay Due To Exynos 5 Issues? We have definitely seen our fair share of rumors concerning the next flagship from South Korean smartphone powerhouse Samsung, where among them include a bumper case, launching with 5G Wi-Fi, and a March 14th release date to name a few. Well, a rather interesting report from South Korea has just appeared, touting that Samsung’s Exynos 5 octa-core processor has run into production issues, and that this is serious. In fact, it would be the reason why Samsung has not closed the door on Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs to be in the innards of their upcoming Galaxy S4 smartphone.

We are not quite sure just how true this particular report from South Korea is, and whether it might actually see Samsung ditch the entire Exynos 5 effort from their future devices, but we guess there is always the Great Teacher (some say Great Destroyer), Time, to show us the way. I do suppose that executives over at Qualcomm must be singing, “Happy days are here again…”, keeping their fingers crossed that Samsung will fail with the Exynos 5.

Publisher’s note: while this is a post discussing the alleged Exynos production issues, it is worth nothing that it is very unlikely that Samsung would “ditch” it altogether. While production issues often happen early in a chip’s life cycle, most of those problems are worked out and given that Samsung has already demonstrated working samples, the chip logic (design) seems out of danger. Now, the question is whether or not Samsung can produce enough of these chips to meet demand.

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 Bumper Case Goes Up For Sale

A couple of days ago it was rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be revealed on the 14th of March at Samsung’s Unpacked event. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but if you’re wondering what the phone could look like, perhaps we might be able to get a very vague idea based on this video in which an alleged bumper case for the Galaxy S4 is being shown off. We can’t tell if the bumper case is based on the actual specifications of the phone, or if it is based on the rumors and alleged leaked renderings that we’ve seen so far.

The company who made the video is actually selling the case and on their website although you might want to wait for the official announcement before spending your money. In any case based on the design of the bumper case, assuming it is real, it seems that some of the rumors might be true in the sense that the Galaxy S4 will not deviate too far from the design of the Galaxy S3 and retain its curved corners. We’ll take this with a grain of salt for now, but if you want to take a look, you can check out the video above for the details.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Reveal Coming March 14 [Rumor]

By now, we know how excited you Android users are for the next Samsung Galaxy S4 as any bit of new information regarding the device may receive more attention than it should. Based on a number of reports, we can safely say the Galaxy S4 will launch this spring with an expected unveiling some time in March with the device available for sale in April.

We originally reported on a rumor Samsung will plan to unveil its Galaxy S4 on March 15th, but it looks like we may be hearing more about the device one day earlier according to industry insider Eldar Murtazin.

Murtazin tweeted the following message earlier today:

“Save the date for a big announcement – March 14 Samsung Galaxy S4 Reveal Coming March 14 [Rumor] And keep silence Samsung Galaxy S4 Reveal Coming March 14 [Rumor]

Of course, Murtazin’s message doesn’t automatically confirm that date, although it certainly should be a date on your calendar you should pay close attention to as he’s been correct on these kinds of things more often than not. If he’s hearing March 14 is the big day for Samsung’s announcement, then we can only hope Murtazin is right once again.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Leaked Spec Sheet Confirms CPU, March Arrival [Rumor]

Samsung Galaxy S4 Leaked Spec Sheet Confirms CPU, March Arrival [Rumor]

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to be released this spring, although there have been many reports as to what the company will be squeezing into their next Android smartphone. Just a few days ago, a rumor popped up that showed the S4 would have a 1.9GHz Qualcomm processor, but today, a new spec sheet has leaked which has left many confused as to what the truth is.

The new leak comes from Italian website Android Caotic and it highlights a number of the Galaxy S4′s specs which is said to include an Exynos 5440 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, a 5″ Full HD display, Android 4.2 and 2GB of RAM.

The leaked smartphone lineup image also says the Galaxy S4 will be introduced in March 2013, which we previously heard the exact date would be March 15 with an April release date expected. At least that area of the leak seems to line up with previous rumors, although the hardware specs are still up in the air at this point.

Samsung To Build 100M Galaxy S4 Handsets [Analyst]

Samsung To Build 100M Galaxy S4 Handsets [Analyst]

This is concept art

It’s the season for market Analysts to help their clients position their portfolios and Jefferies & Company analyst Peter Misek (the analyst  who came out with a number of such prediction about Apple yesterday) is said to have  told his clients that Samsung is prepared to build a record 100 million Galaxy S4 (or Galaxy SIV or Galaxy Next, there is no official name). Interestingly, he also mentions that components suppliers that Samsung shares with Apple could come under manufacturing capacity pressure and may have to make a tough choice between which client to satisfy: Samsung or Apple.

So far, both companies have been doing a great job at building a record number of handsets, but Apple has already reported that some of its iPhone handset came under manufacturing pressure, which slightly affected last quarter’s numbers. Yet, those  constraint are typically a “good problem” to have, and there is no doubt that HTC or Nokia wouldn’t mind having those  right now. There is no official Samsung Galaxy S4 specifications yet, but at this point, they are speculated to look like this: 5″ Super-AMOLED display (1920×1080, full HD) , 13 Megapixel camera, wireless charging, Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor with 2GB of RAM. It looks like this year will be more competitive than ever, and that’s how we like it as consumers.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Lacks S-Pen And Retains Home Button (Rumor)

Samsung Galaxy S4 Lacks S Pen And Retains Home Button (Rumor)The upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung is said to be the Samsung Galaxy S4, and you can bet your bottom dollar that plenty of rumors have started to circle around it like a vulture over some carcass. Well, here are more rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S4 for you to mull over – it is said to no longer include the S-Pen feature, but will boast of non-contact gesture support. Heck, there is also the possibility of the Samsung Galaxy S4 retaining its Home button, and of course, we do hope that all will be revealed at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain.

The device will be available by end of March, and it does seem as though Samsung is bent on selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 right after the announcement of the smartphone at MWC 2013. Other rumors include a possible 4.99” Full HD AMOLED display at 1080×1920 resolution among others. Are you already looking forward to upgrade your Galaxy S3 to the Galaxy S4 when it arrives?

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Rumored

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini RumoredIs Samsung on a trend towards the miniaturization of their flagship devices? Perhaps, if the latest rumor is to be believed. When Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S3 was released, that particular effort was followed up some time after with the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, although the latter did not really do as well as the folks over at Samsung would have expected, since there are also other mid-range devices like the Galaxy Ace hanging around. The latest rumor has it that the next generation Galaxy S4 from the South Korean conglomerate would be accompanied by the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.

Since this is a rumor in its infancy, it goes without saying that there is no way to tell on just what the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be able to deliver, although if one were to take history into consideration, then the Galaxy S4 Mini could very well be equipped with a 4” High Definition display, but it will most probably not come with a quad-core Exynos processor or 2GB RAM, and neither can we expect a 13-megapixel shooter at the back. Only time will tell, so do enjoy the mock image of the Galaxy S4 on the right for the moment.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Benchmarks Reveal 1.9GHz Qualcomm Processor [Rumor]

There’s been a veil of secrecy revolving around the Samsung Galaxy S4 the moment the Galaxy S3 was released as smartphone consumers are often looking for what’s next rather than appreciating what they have in their pocket. We’ve heard rumors of the Galaxy S4 possibly featuring touchless gesture inputs, an S Pen like its Galaxy Note cousin and Samsung’s 8-core Exynos 5 chipset. (more…)

Possible Samsung Galaxy S4 Camera Images Spotted On Google+

Possible Samsung Galaxy S4 Camera Images Spotted On Google+It has been speculated that perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S4 for AT&T could be going by the model number SGH-i337, and assuming that is true, it looks like we might be looking at some camera image samples from the Galaxy S4 (pictured above). The photos were uploaded onto Google+ by a certain Hyunsuk Park, but at this time of posting the photos have since been taken down, leading us to speculate that perhaps there might be some merit to these photos after all.

According to the EXIF data, the photos were snapped by a SGH-i337 and were snapped at a lower resolution, so at this point in time we cannot confirm the rumors of the Galaxy S4 featuring a 13MP camera. The EXIF data also revealed the camera’s aperture at f/2.2 which should make it pretty decent in low light situations, although we’ll probably have to test it ourselves just to be sure. In any case as you can see, the photo is rather blurry so it’s hard to judge the quality or capabilities of the Galaxy S4 just yet, but in the meantime we guess this will have to do.
