Gold is somewhat an ostentatious color when it comes to electronic gadgets. After all its too bright, gaudy, and very loud, but little did we know that Apple would such a huge success with its gold iPhone 5s. That being said, it seems that not only does HTC want to replicate that success with a gold HTC M8, but possibly Samsung as well, thanks to an alleged leaked screenshot from Vodafone’s internal systems which reveals a gold colored Samsung Galaxy S5. Along with the listing for a gold Galaxy S5, the listing also reveals and thus “confirms” the gold HTC M8, as well as the gold iPhone 5s.

So what does this mean for customers? Does it mean that we can look forward to a gold Galaxy S5 right off the bat? In the past we have seen how companies such as Samsung has slowly allowed different color variants of its phones to be released, perhaps every few months or so. However with Vodafone listing the gold model so early, perhaps Samsung might be deploying a different strategy this time. Will HTC and Samsung be able to replicate Apple’s success with the gold iPhone? After all the phone was a hit in China where gold is culturally and symbolically looked upon in a good way, and while gold is naturally a sign of wealth, perhaps its importance will vary from market to market. With each passing day more and more information has started trickling in about Samsung’s next generation flagship, regardless of the fact that all of it comes in from unofficial sources. In just four days the Galaxy S5 is going to be unveiled at the company’s Unpacked 5 event, which takes place on February 24th as part of one of the industry’s largest events, Mobile World Congress 2014. The latest rumor claims that this smartphone will have a dedicated “Kids Mode,” which will essentially lock certain features, so when the device is in kids’ hands, they don’t wreak havoc on your life.

In just four days Samsung is going to unveil Galaxy S5 at its Unpacked 5 event in Barcelona, as part and parcel of the Mobile World Congress 2014. There is a lot of excitement and hype surrounding this device, we have all been keeping up with a constant stream of rumors since last year. Information about the Galaxy S5 camera has trickled in today, apparently as expected, it is going to have a 16 megapixel rear camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL technology, but there are going to be a few novel changes.

Devices that aren’t specifically developed to be immune to the elements can suffer damage at the hands of water and dust. Though those days are long gone when customers didn’t exactly have the option to purchase a device that could withstand the elements. Samsung already offers a similar version of the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 Active. Rumor has it though that the Galaxy S5 itself will be water and dust proof, essentially eliminating the need for another such variant altogether.

Galaxy S5 Waterproof And Dustproof Reportedly original content from Ubergizmo.

We have heard reports and seen benchmarks of alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 devices that were packing Full HD displays. In fact these rumours seem to contradict reports that the Galaxy S5 would pack a QHD display, but according to other rumors, Samsung could be launching multiple variants of the Galaxy S5. One would supposedly be a higher-end model with a QHD display, and the other would be the more “normal” model with a Full HD display. Apart from the difference in display resolution, we’re not sure if there are any other differences under the hood.

Now thanks to a report from Korean news out, ETNews, it has been suggested that there will indeed be at least two Galaxy S5 variants, and apparently the model with the Full HD display is expected to go on sale late-March as per an earlier rumor, while the QHD model will go on sale at a later date, although no specific dates or a timeframe was given. The report claims that this is due to Samsung being unable to optimize the image quality of their QHD displays, thus the delay. Assuming this is true, we’re not sure how this will impact the sales of the Galaxy S5. For all we know it could be an iPhone 5c situation where customers might decide to either wait or shell out a bit more money for the higher-end model, unless of course the Full HD Galaxy S5 is priced very competitively. Either way since these are rumors, try not to be too worried and check back with us on the 24th of February for all the details.
