Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100P, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Start To Receive Android Jelly Bean

Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100P, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Start To Receive Android Jelly Bean

A number of Samsung manufactured devices have been slowly getting the Android Jelly Bean treatment over the past few months as the Galaxy NoteGalaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Express have all received their respective updates. Two Samsung Android devices which were introduced nearly two years ago are starting to receive Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean today: The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6200 and the Galaxy S2 i9100P.

In the case of the Galaxy S2 i9100P’s Android Jelly Bean update, it should start becoming available to users as both an over the air update as well as through Samsung Kies. As for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6200, its Android Jelly Bean update is only available in Austria, but Samsung is planning on rolling out support for additional countries in the near future. Considering both the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus feature dual-core processors, it’s unlikely they will go beyond an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, which means these two devices are on their last legs in terms of their ability to receive future updates.

Samsung rolling Jelly Bean out across most of its smartphone, tablet lineup ‘soon’

Samsung Jelly Bean

Now that Samsung has commenced beaming Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA toward deserving Galaxy S III customers, it’s announced a raft of other devices set to receive the buttery OS in the near future. On the list are the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Music, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy mini II and Galaxy S Duos. That should bring a bit of extra speed and smoothness to those devices, along with Google Now for search and Samsung’s own flourishes from the latest TouchWiz UX. As for the rest of us, there’s more than one way to skin a Smartphone — or avoid skinning one, as the case may be.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 PlusGood news T-Mobile Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners, it seems like the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be heading your way today.
