Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android Jelly Bean Update Reportedly Delayed

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android Jelly Bean Update Reportedly DelayedSamsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 owners, if you’re planning on getting the highly anticipated Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, prepare to be disappointed because according to reports, it seems that the update will be delayed. Apparently Samsung is having some difficulty with the Exynos processor, but that seems a little odd considering that they were the ones who built it in the first place, but since Samsung has not officially made a statement, we guess this should be treated as a rumor for now. The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will now be pushed to a May/June release date, but no specific dates were revealed, so sit tight and be patient and hopefully an announcement will be made soon!

Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Confirmed?

galaxy tab 77 fcc Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Confirmed?Sometimes, the head does not know what the hand is doing, and vice versa. Ever had that kind of experience before whenever you attempt to do something, but realize that your body does not seem to want to respond to the commands sent by the brain? Well, it must also be said that sometimes, the tongue is quicker than the brain, resulting in a potentially damaging situation in terms of relationships, or perhaps the severance of friendships because of a word or phrase loosed without thinking prior. Well, we are not quite sure whether Samsung International has authorized this, but apparently, the folks over at Samsung Thailand have already confirmed that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be getting the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.

Word has it that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (GT-P6800 / GT-P6810) will receive this Jelly Bean update, which translates to a whole lot of new features (Premium Suite, anyone?), and hopefully, a tablet that runs at a faster pace. This ought to get the fair share of disgruntled Galaxy Tab 7.7 owners to end up with a smile on their respective faces.

German court extends Galaxy Tab 7.7 injunction to encompass the E.U., but denies Apple’s appeal to ban the Galaxy Tab 10.1N

Just a couple of days ago, the US appeals court upheld the ban of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Samsung’s ongoing legal battle with Apple. Well the good news is that if you’re living in Europe and the Galaxy Tab 10.1N (essentially the same as the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with some physical design changes) is a tablet you were planning on getting, the German courts have recently denied Apple’s appeal to ban the Galaxy Tab 10.1N from being sold. However the bad news is that the courts have ruled that the injunction of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be extended across the entire E.U. According to Samsung, “Samsung is disappointed with the court’s ruling. We will continue to take all available measures, including legal action, to protect our intellectual property rights and defend against Apple’s claims to ensure our products remain available to consumers throughout the European Union.” We guess you can’t win them all! For our readers in the E.U., is the ban of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 a big loss to you, or have you moved on to other brands like the Nexus 7 tablet, perhaps?

Apple wins ‘EU-wide’ injunction against Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, denied on 10.1 ban

Apple wins EUwide injunction against Galaxy Tab 77

Word around the mulberry bush is that Apple has just won itself a Europe-wide injunction against the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, in case anyone still wanted to buy that tablet now that the Nexus 7 is out. The decision was taken in-between beer courses at the appeals court in Dusseldorf, but it didn’t all go Apple’s way — Cupertino’s request to have the re-designed Galaxy Tab 10.1 (aka the 10.1N) banned too was rejected, having already been turned down at preliminary hearing back in February.

The Tab 7.7 apparently infringes Apple patents that date from 2004 and, such is the power of one little German town, cannot technically be sold anywhere in the EU — although other countries may choose to ignore the ruling and it’s probably only a matter of time before a 7.7N comes out anyway. In contrast, the failed claim against the 10-inch slate hinged on a “generic design patent,” which a British judge has also vehemently dismissed. Glossing over the 7.7 decision, Samsung says it “welcomes the court’s ruling” with regard to the 10.1N and accuses Apple of using “legal claims” to restrict “design innovation and progress in the industry.”
