Make Your Own Game of Thrones Dragon Easter Eggs

Fans of Game of Thrones who love Daenerys Targaryen can put some really cool looking eggs in their Easter basket thanks to Jacquie LongLegs. She made her Easter eggs to look just like the dragon eggs in the HBO series.

dragon eggs
This only makes more sense as the Game of Thrones Season 3 premiere is coming this Easter Sunday. Hopefully they don’t really hatch baby dragons, because they would eat your Easter candy for one and make a mess of your house.

You can make these super cool eggs too. She shows you how it’s done in this short video. All you need are some styrofoam eggs, thumb tacks and acrylic or spray paint.

You will have the geekiest (and pokiest) Easter basket ever. You’d better get busy.

Game of Thrones Gets LEGO-Lized

Game of Thrones is awesome enough as it is. But it’s about to get awesomer thanks to LEGO hobbyists and builders who also happen to be fans of the show. Now, thanks to fans and hobbyists, some of the show’s memorable moments have been immortalized forever and recreated in LEGO.

Classic Game Of Thrones Scenes Recreated In LEGO

Of course, GoT isn’t shy when it comes to the violence which sometimes borders on the absolutely gory. I think it’s safe to say that LEGO definitely tones down the gore factor a bit. Though in this scene where Jaime Lannister slays the Mad King, they still manage to spill blood.

And it wouldn’t be a Game of Thrones tribute if the actual Throne of Swords weren’t recreated in the building blocks that everyone loves so much, right?

And here’s the final scene we have for you. Take note of the high level detail on Tyrion Lannister as he bribes Mord to let him out of his sky cell.

Throne of Nerds: A Song of USB and QWERTY

The iron throne is made up of many many sharp swords, but what would a throne look like in a nerd kingdom? Well, it would probably look something like this Throne of Nerds, covered with keyboards everywhere.

This throne will not cut those who sit upon it. If anything the keys will provide some minimal cushioning for your backside. It was made by Mike DeWolfe, a computer programmer from Canada.

He warped the keyboards and even scorched almost all of the ESC keys to symbolize how impossible it can be escape suffering and blackness. Mike sounds like a cheery guy. I’m not living in his nerd kingdom. The only key that is left undamaged is the ESC key on the highest positioned keyboard.

In back, the keyboard cables have been arranged like human hair that is roughly braided, but not really. It is a tangle. This shows how good plans and order can degenerate into chaos. Or it’s just a cool chair made out of old keyboards. You decide.

Game of Thrones Playing Cards: Poker is Coming

Game of Thrones is one of my favorite shows on TV in years, but I’ve been trying to find ways to pass the time while waiting for the return of the show on March 31. I’m a gambler too, so I think a few hands of poker could be a good time-killer until the return of the Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens, Baratheons, and all of the other denizens of Westeros in about a month and a half.

These hand-illustrated Game of Thrones playing cards were designed by artist Paul Nojima after getting the idea from a concept design he saw from artist Jim Tuckwell. While Tuckwell had only designed a handful of cards, while Nojima has actually produced an entire deck of cards.

The deck is printed on high quality 310gsm card stock, and includes illustrations of all of your favorite (and most hated) characters on the face cards, and the Aces have been illustrated with sigils from four houses. I also love how the Jokers are Lord Baelish and Lord Varis – how perfect is that?

You can get your hands on a deck of these Game of Thrones cards over on Etsy for $20. They’re also available in an faux aged version, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Iron Throne Cake: Pay the Fondant Price

Everyone in Westeros is fighting over the Iron Throne, which is kind of funny, since it looks like a very uncomfortable chair. Of course, the whole point is that he who sits on it should never do so comfortably. Never be comfortable with such power.

I prefer this Iron Throne cake. It is the throne without all of the responsibility and constant bleeding. This tasty throne was created by The Cake Geek, and it was made with chocolate, vanilla, strawberries and fondant sculpted into countless swords.

Have your throne and eat it too. That’s what Robert Baratheon always said. Or would have, if he had seen this cake.

Game of Thrones 1/6 Iron Throne Replica

There is the real deal, and then if you do not have the kind of financial muscle that would make you the envy of the rest of your peers, then a replica of something that is highly sought after will have to do. What am I talking about? Just about everything, but if you so happen to be a fan of the Game of Thrones series, then you might want to check out this highly affordable $299.99 Game of Thrones 1/6 Iron Throne Replica.

Yes sir, this is the throne for extremely tiny kings, being just 14” in height. Just what kind of material is it made out of? It is sculpted from resin, and hand-finished to boot, which means no two replicas are alike in this world. Even if your last name is not a Lannister, you will be able to get hold of one of these bad boys, now how about that? This is definitely a surefire way to own a conversation starter at home or at the office. Bear in mind that this is an officially licensed HBO Game of Thrones series collectible, so don’t worry about picking up a cheap knockoff.

Game of Thrones Plush Direwolves, Cuteness is Coming

Check out these new plush Direwolves. They are from a new line of Game of Thrones toys from Factory Entertainment. Aside from Direwolves, they will be offering plush dragon eggs, dragons and shield-shaped throw pillows as well as some prop replicas and sculptural miniatures.

The plush Direwolves are the best though. They are soft and cuddly and not dangerous at all. Ghost has red eyes. But as much as I like these soft Direwolves, I can’t help but want some plush White Walkers. That would be awesome. These wolves are pretty cool though. I would cuddle one if I were a Stark.

They were spotted at the recent New York Toy Fair, and should be available this Summer.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Preview Describes The Nature Of Chaos

Do you sense that? Winter is indeed coming this spring as HBO’s Game of Thrones will start its third season starting March 31. Seeing as we’re over a month away from Game of Thrones’ premier, HBO has started the hype train with a new 40 second preview.

The preview HBO published on the official Game of Thrones YouTube page is titled “Chaos” and highlights a number of important characters we were left with at the end of the show’s second season. Each character’s face is highlighted for a few seconds as Petyr Baelish describes the nature of chaos. “Chaos isn’t a pit,” he says. “Chaos is a ladder.” (more…)

Winterfell Gets Tiny: The Flea Circus is Coming

We still have to wait until March 31 for the new season of Game of Thrones, but that doesn’t mean that fans of the series and books that inspired it aren’t making good use of their downtime while waiting for its return. Take, for example, this tiny 3D printed version of Winterfell.

tiny winterfell 1

The miniature home of the Starks was fabricated on a MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer using a 3D model which was made in Solidworks using screen grabs from the iconic opening sequence of the hit HBO show.

The teensy Winterfell model was created by maker damm301, and it’s quite detailed for its size – just over 3″ square. Best of all, you can download the .STL model file over at Thingiverse, so you can print your own. There’s two versions of the model – one with windows and doors, and the other without.

Perhaps between the 2013 and 2014 seasons, damm301 will have the time to model the rest of Westeros – or at least just King’s Landing.
