Build Your Own Iron Throne

The Iron Throne. It is what everyone is fighting over, even though it is the least comfortable chair in all of Westeros. Well, if you are tired of not having one for your very own and are sick of waiting in line for the chance to sit on one at comic cons, you can build your own.

All it takes is a plastic Adirondack chair, some yardsticks, foam, paint, screws and a dream. This DIY throne comes from web developer and gamer flaming_pele! who has shared the info so that we can all have our own. The plastic Adirondack chair is a perfect starting place because it is lightweight and you can build off of it using common materials.

Game Of Thrones Game From Telltale Games Might Be Happening [Rumor]

Game Of Thrones Game From Telltale Games Might Be Happening [Rumor]

The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are arguably two of the best TV shows currently airing as both of them tend to be the topic of water cooler discussions at the office the day after they air. Telltale Games has done an amazing job with the first season of The Walking Dead game as well as its follow-up DLC, 400 days. Now it looks like reports are coming in Telltale Games may be creating a Game of Thrones game.  (more…)

These are all the deaths in Game of Thrones

Redditor Ma Petit Choufleur did something really cool: mark all the deaths in the Game of Thrones novels and then take this cool photo. Yeah, that’s lots of deaths. "All the marked deaths are present tense confirmed deaths. No flashbacks, and no implied deaths," he says.

Guy makes Game of Thrones' Iron Throne with cheap plastic chair

You’re not about to create the Iron Throne from the swords of your defeated enemies so why not play it a little safer by making one with a plastic garden chair and a can of spray paint? Seriously, this garden chair throne is almost as good as the one in Game of Thrones.

    Pokémon & Heroines T-shirts: PokéPinups

Many Pokémon have an affinity to natural elements, a trope that they share with other superheroes. Singapore-based shirt designer Barefists figured it would be nice to mashup the critters to famous heroines that share their elemental strengths in what he’s calling PokePinups.

Barefists currently has four PokePinups designs: Poison Ivy riding a Venusaur, Danaerys with three Charmanders, the Waterbender Katara on a Blastoise and the X-man Storm with Pikachu.

    pokepinup t shirt xmashed gear 3 300x250
    pokepinup t shirt xmashed gear 5 300x250

You can get the t-shirts from Barefists’ shop Xmashed Gear for about $22 (USD) each, but if you can get them for just $14 each, $30 for two or $55 for all four plus four A3 prints on his Indiegogo fundraiser. He’s planning to make more PokePinups in the future, but I hope that doesn’t depend on the success of his fundraiser because he’s still quite a ways from hitting his goal of $2,800.

With hundreds of Pokémon this series has a lot of potential. You can have Carrie and Mew, Chell and Abra, Sasha Blouse and Snorlax… man I need to play Pokémon X/Y. I’m way behind on Pokémon.

HBOs Game Of Thrones Now Available On Google Play Store

The fourth season for HBO’s wildly popular Game of Thrones is a little over five months away from being released. But if you’re not an HBO subscriber, the only other place you could catch up on your Game of Thrones addiction was through Apple’s iTunes Store, leaving many non-iTunes users probably resorting to pirating new episodes of the show. If you’re an Android owner, you’ll be happy to hear Google has just added Game of Thrones to its Google Play Store. (more…)

Game of Thrones Map Puzzle: Set Down Our Deeds

Replicate the opening credits of HBO’s Game of Thrones with this multilayered puzzle map of Westeros. Aside from the flat map of the war-torn continent, the kit also includes tiny replicas of cities and castles, plus a few other figurines. Make sure to hum the opening theme while you’re putting it together.

The map was made by 4D Cityscape, a company known for two things: building puzzle maps of cities and misunderstanding the concept of the 4th dimension. This definitively 3-dimensional continent puzzle is made of 1,200 pieces. Then there’s a smaller 200-piece puzzle that sits on top of the continent puzzle that outlines the “current landscape” of Westeros. I assume that refers to the layout of the land based on the TV series so far. The final layer consists of the aforementioned figurines of cities and castles. There are also “over 45 flags to mark famous landmarks, 10 sigils to mark the Houses, and 5 battle markers to learn the locations of five major battles.”

You can pre-order the puzzle map from ThinkGeek for $60 (USD), and you’ll have it in plenty of time as a gift for that Game of Thrones fan on your holiday shopping list.

Retro Game of Thrones Video Game: The Pixelated Kingdoms of Westeros

Game of Thrones is a great TV show. I personally feel they leave too much out that was in the books, but it’s pretty awesome nonetheless. Anyway, it’s a great show, but we don’t have any really good Game of Thrones video games. Until now. Abel Alves has built a completely free “8-bit” game, inspired by the TV series. Its graphics look more like 16-bit, but we’ll forgive Abel for his slight misnomer.

    game of thrones 8 bit

The game has four levels, and you can play four different characters. It features Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons and other characters that you know and love. It’s a fun game and it is free to download.

Download the game here and you will be glad that you did. Unfortunately, it only runs on Windows PCs, unless you’ve got an emulator of course.

Keep in mind that the game just focuses on key moments in the saga. It is by no means the full story. For instance, you won’t be able to pretend to be a drunken Tyrion Lannister or slap Joffrey across the face. Too bad.

Guy Maps His Heart Rate During Game of Thrones Red Wedding Scene

If you somehow managed to magically avoid all hints at what happens during Game of Thrones‘ now-infamous Red Wedding scene, stop reading now. Because one man hooked himself up to an Arduino and PulseSensor to track his heart rate during the episode, and spoilers abound (kind of maybe if you have really good eyesight).
