GX Gaming introduces range of gaming peripherals to the US

amphiroGX Gaming happens to be the gaming series arm of Genius, a peripheral manufacturer, and they have recently unveiled a slew of gaming peripherals to those living in North America. The trio of peripherals that I am referring to would be the White Edition of the GX Gaming DeathTaker, Imperator Pro and GX-Speed. Such a special collection has been concocted by GX Gaming in order to coincide with the festive season, where all three of them – the new DeathTaker, Imperator Pro, and GX-Speed will arrive in white so that it offers a “cool zone” around any gamer, while doubling up as the perfect companions to anyone with a white themed gaming setup.

First of all, the DeathTaker White Edition happens to be a nine button precision gaming mouse that has up to 5700 dpi resolution. Apart from that, it also has X/Y axis independent dpi adjustments which would pave the way for a more flexible configuration in an intense online battle. Throwing in a weight adjustment system further enhances mouse control at high speed.

As for the Imperator Pro White Edition, it will come with 17 NKRO in order to prevent missed key presses during those crucial in-game, hair raising moments . Half a dozen independent macro keys will be accompanied by a pair of USB ports to make sure that you do not lose an iota of connectivity. Apart from that, the white body is a beauty to behold, as it comes with grey keycaps and red lettering for that added dash of style.

Last but not least, we have the GX Speed White Edition that will be the latest soft gaming mouse pad that was specifically designed for the DeathTaker White Edition. It will of course work with other kinds of gaming mice, but why not let it stick to its destined partner? Being thinner, larger, and white themed, it will come with a natural rubber base so that one will be able to enjoy a stronger surface grip that will not slip.

Roccat intends to push gaming boundaries at Computex 2013

German companies are well known for their precision engineering as well as sheer build quality, and ROCCAT Studios certainly are not playing the fool by their presence at Computex 2013 which has ended this week. Using that showcase event in Taiwan to deliver news of major product releases, Roccat intends to roll out an optical version of the multi-award-winning Kone Pure gaming mouse, calling it the Kone Pure Optical Core Performance Gaming Mouse this time around. That is certainly a mouthful when you think about it, and it does make me wish that ROCCAT could revert to something that is a whole lot simpler. Apart from that gaming mouse update, ROCCAT also demonstrated the eagerly-anticipated Ryos MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard With Per-key Illumination, allowing the masses to enjoy the full capabilities of the keyboard’s unique, configurable lighting system.

Not only that, there will also be the release candidate for the acclaimed Power-Grid smartphone app which will be unveiled. This particular app has been undergoing closed beta testing since early April. ROCCAT also intends to make a mark for itself in the Mac OS gaming environment, and the first step that they would take would be to introduce a driver for the popular Kone XTD mouse so that it can be used in Mac OS environments. This would enable the growing number of people who enjoy games on the Mac OS platform to be able to experience the full spectrum of ROCCAT innovations including Easy-Shift[+], ROCCAT Talk and a bunch of other customization possibilities.

Additional amounts of patience will eventually see Mac OS driver software rolling out for additional ROCCAT peripherals on an incremental basis. Well, with all the innovations that ROCCAT had announced, which are the ones that you are most interested in, and would like to grab hold of, pronto?

Tokyo Game Show 2012 wrap-up: Sony’s new PS3, ‘Prototype-SR’ and assorted gaming peripherals

Tokyo Game Show 2012 wrapup Sony's new PS3, more PS Vita colors, a headmounted display prototype and a handful of peripherals

After a few humid and sweaty days in Tokyo, TGS 2012 is drawing to a close. While the public days continue through the weekend, us media types are headed back to our respective homelands until next September. The lasting impression from the week — aside from eating massive amounts of gyoza — will undoubtedly be the news Sony dropped the day before the show started at its own press event. A new, even slimmer PS3 is on the way and two new colors for the PS Vita were outed — at least for Japan. On the show floor, though, we encountered some peripherals well-suited for other gaming tech like Nintendo’s 3DS XL, Xbox 360 and PC rigs. You can peek at those for yourself in the Sony Tokyo Game Show gallery that follows and relive all the action in the wrap-up that lies just beyond the break. Also, don’t forget to check out our pals over at Joystiq for more coverage from this week’s happenings.

Sony ‘Prototype-SR’ spotted at TGS 2012: the HMZ-T2 tacks on a camera, plays with user perception (video)

Sony 'PrototypeSR' spotted at TGS the HMZT2 tacks on a camera for enhanced 3D measures

Remember the Sony HMZ-T2 3D head-mounted display that we tried on back at IFA? Well, it’s being prominently featured here at TGS, too. Tucked away at a smaller, much more modest booth around the corner, however, is something a smidge more interesting. Kept behind glass and a safe distance away from our grubby mitts and sweaty foreheads resides the “Prototype-SR” (Substitutional Reality) that was outed on YouTube last week. Essentially, the unit appears to be the HMZ-T2 with a front-mounted camera for head tracking and camera functionality — the sort of thing that will provide what’s being called a 360-degree immersive entertainment experience. From what we can tell from the booth monitors, the unit displays 3D video overlaid in real space for the person wearing the device. Details are scarce and extremely limited demos were available in an apparent lottery (no luck here). You can rest assured that if we’re able to snag one, though, we’ll be sure to offer up some impressions. For now, take a look at the camera-wielding set of hi-tech goggles in the gallery below and the aforementioned video awaits just past the break.

Nyko Power Grip for PlayStation Vita review: a $25 accessory that promises to double your battery life

DNP Nyko Power Grip for PlayStation Vita Review twice the playtime and twice the bulk

Gaming accessories come in all shapes and sizes — replacement controllers, portable console suitcases, specialized mice, control augmenting nubs, you name it. Whatever your niche, you can bet there’s a product out there to fill it. Nyko, in particular, has made a bit of a habit of fulfilling a particular need: manufacturing third-party battery accessories for all those short-lived handhelds. The outfit has such a solid track record in the category, in fact, that we had little doubt its PlayStation Vita Power Grip ($25) would live up to its life-giving hype — but we decided to put it to the test all the same.
