Just because Borderlands 2 has a Game of the Year Edition doesn’t mean Gearbox Software is done with the game’s downloadable content as a new Halloween-themed DLC will be available starting on October 22. Borderlands 2 Receiving New Playable Character ‘Krieg The Psycho’ On May 14

Borderlands 2 Receiving New Playable Character Krieg The Psycho On May 14

Shortly after the release of Borderlands 2, we were introduced to a new playable character, Gaige the Mechromancer, which was released as a downloadable add-on in October. This week, Gearbox Software unveiled a new playable character which is expected to be released on May 14 called Krieg the Psycho Bandit.

Krieg the Psycho Bandit is a reformed version of the Psychos we’re sure you Borderlands players have become quite familiar with. Krieg will use a combination of his trusty axe and explosives to take down his enemies and will come with three skill trees: Bloodlust, which will increase Krieg’s abilities when he kills with his Buzz Axe; Mania, which will increase his damage output as he takes damage; and Hellborn, which will make him an even deadlier character when he’s on fire. Borderlands 2 ‘Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep” DLC Title Leaked

Borderlands 2 Tiny Tinas Assault On Dragon Keep DLC Title Leaked

Anthony Burch, a Borderlands writer, apparently leaked the title for the next downloadable content for Borderlands 2. He tweeted a picture earlier today, which has now been removed, that contained a poster in the background with the title of next Borderlands 2 DLC, “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.” Gearbox, the developer of popular game has previously confirmed that the next DLC will be releasing towards the end of June. They had not revealed the title when making this announcement, but if this poster is anything to go by, there’s no need for a title announcement now any way.

Gearbox did not want to comment on this leak. It is interesting to note that Gearbox did show off Tiny Tina teasing something for Borderlands 2 at the PAX East conference which took place back in March. Obviously we can’t be too sure until an official announcement is made, but nonetheless, it is pretty evident from the poster seen in this image that the next DLC for Borderlands too is inevitably titled “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.” [Image via StealthyBox]

Update: Gearbox has now confirmed that this is indeed the next DLC for Borderlands 2. It will be available on June 25 for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and $9.99 on the PlayStation 3.

Borderlands 2 Diamond Plate Loot Chest Offers In-Game, Real-World Goodies

Borderlands 2 Diamond Plate Loot Chest Offers In Game, Real World Goodies

Gearbox Software recently announced its Borderlands 2 will be receiving an update that increases the game’s level cap, will introduce a new vault hunter as well as a new mode called “Vault Hunter’s Mode.” But if you consider yourself a true vault hunter, then you might want to check out this real-world limited edition Borderlands 2 diamond-plate loot chest.

The loot chest offers a combination of in-game and real-life loot that any vault hunter would love to get their hands on.

    • Diamond Plate Loot Chest
    • Loot Chest Certificate of Authenticity
    • A rare vacuform Goliath mask w/ SHiFT code that unlocks the head in-game
    • 20 Trading cards with SHiFT codes that unlock Legendary items in game
    • Vault Hunters Wanted Poster
    • Window Decals for Hyperion, Jakobs, Maliwan, and more

The main selling point of this chest would certainly be the chest itself, but considering there are some really great additional items in there, as well as a number of SHiFT codes that will equip your characters with legendary items, then its $99.99 price point doesn’t sound so terrible. Also, it’s being sold by ThinkGeek, which you know means it’s most likely a quality product.

Gearbox Software’s founder denies that Borderlands 3 is in development

It has been less than a month since Borderlands 2 was released, but oddly enough it seems that rumors of a Borderlands 3 have been running rampant, to the point that Gearbox Software’s founder, Randy Pitchford, had to come forward and officially deny that Borderlands 3 is in development. Taking to his Twitter account, Pitchford wrote:

“Chill out internet. No one has started working on a sequel to Borderlands 2. It’s fun to talk and think, but actual effort is focused on Borderlands 2 DLC, Aliens, etc.

    […]

Clean and Simple truth: The only Borderlands related game development work going on right now is for Borderlands 2. I expect that to change at some point, but that is the state of the box at this moment in time…”

For those wondering, rumors of Borderlands 3’s development began when Borderlands 2’s lead writer, Anthony Burch, revealed that Borderlands 3 was already in the planning stages at the studio. Rather conflicting official opinions but we guess even if Borderlands 3 was in its planning stages, why take the focus away from a game that was released less than a month ago, right?

Play This Borderlands 2 Demake While You Wait for the Real Game

Waiting sucks. But unfortunately we have to wait a while longer for Borderlands 2. It will arrive on September 18th in North America and September 21st internationally. The developer, Gearbox Software, knows that we need a fix so they’ve released an official 16-bit demake of the game.
    the borderlands
It should be just enough to whet your appetite while you are waiting. This demake is titled The Border Lands. Players can pick one of the new characters that are available in Borderlands 2, but sprite form. It looks like it’s all about shooting enemies, level up, and pick up loot.

In other words it’s just like the Borderlands that you know and love. To play you just use the arrow keys to move and the space bar to fire. Depending on what weapons you use, it could be a quick game, though. For instance, a railgun that fires both in front and behind of the player will annihilate most enemies easily, even the bosses. It is just some fun while you bite your nails and wait for the real deal to arrive. Check it out here.
