Guy Gets Yoda Tattoo with Glowing Lightsaber: The Ink Side of the Force

If you are into tattoos, you’ve probably seen some really awesome Star Wars designs, but have you ever seen one that has a UV glowing lightsaber? I didn’t think so. Well, as usual, the internet makes all of your dreams come true. Now you have.

This guy got himself a Yoda tattoo, but not just any Yoda tattoo. This one has a lightsaber that glows under black light. If you look carefully, you’ll also notice that Yoda’s eyes and claws glow too. This artwork was inked on the back of this Star Wars fan by Kenneth Bryan aka Danktat from Intimate Body Art Studios.

Maybe he can find some other dude with Count Dooku on his back and the two of them can back into each other and fight.

Hard Drive Starship Enterprise: Disk Space, The Final Frontier

Like many of you out there, I can’t wait until Star Trek: Into Darkness hits theaters next Summer. In the mean time, I have to be satisfied with other forms of Trekkism to keep my mind occupied – like this clever Starship Enterprise model, made from a defunct hard drive.

hard disk enterprise

Actually, it was made from an old hard drive, bits of a dead mother board, and a laptop keyboard by geeky crafter Daniel Shankalonian. The drive platters make the perfect primary hull and bridge of the trusty old NCC-1701, while I don’t quite recognize what parts make up the warp nacelles and engineering section of the ship. The model also comes with a matching stand, made from a hard drive case and some busted headphone parts. Fascinating, Jim.

hard disk enterprise 2

This isn’t the only U.S.S. Enterprise model that Daniel has built. This one is actually “version 2.1,” and he’s also got recycled part models of the U.S.S. Kelvin and Klingon Bird of Prey up for sale at the moment. There’s also an awesome X-Wing Fighter if you’re more into Wars than Trek. You can check out all of his nifty models over on Daniel’s Etsy shop.

Skyrim Dragonborn Nord Christmas Tree Could Probably Handle the Cold Outside

These days Christmas trees come in all shapes and sizes. For Skyrim fans, this life-sized Dragonborn Nord tree (actually a statue decorated like a tree) is all they need.

This crazy statue/tree comes from Redditor Lanarchy, who spends way too much time running around in Skyrim and needed more of it in real life. In the future they will say, “I used to decorate my Dragonborn tree every year. Until I took an arrow to the knee.”

This Skyrim tree is the perfect centerpiece for a geeky Christmas. The little Yoda on his shoulder is a nice touch, despite having nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls. Or does he?

Cheeseburger Bedding: Hold the Pillows, Hold the Lettuce

If you have been dying to get between two buns and sleep in a non-greasy cheeseburger bed, this is the bedding for you. It comes from Davidelfin of Madrid. It looks like a cheeseburger, but thankfully doesn’t smell like one.

In fact it’s a double cheeseburger, which is even better. This duvet will cost you €90 – €130 (~$117 – $170USD) depending on the size of your bed. For that price, you get two square sesame seed bun pillow covers too.

Of course this is just going to make you hungry at bed time. Still, I wouldn’t kick it out of my bed for dropping sesame seeds.

Final Fantasy IV Demon Wall Art: Painting Like a Boss (Battle)

Aside from shows like iam8bit, galleries and museums are rarely places to find cool gamer art. But it doesn’t take long over on Etsy to turn up a wide variety of impressive artworks for fans of all sorts of video games. At the moment, I’ve got my eye set on this awesome original painting, inspired by Final Fantasy IV.

final fantasy demon wall 1

This original acrylic was painted by John Moriarty and depicts a scene in which Edge, Rosa, Cecil, Rydia and Kain go up against the evil Demon Wall. The painting has so much depth thanks to the effective use of light and shadow, that I thought the demon was about to pop out of my computer screen and crush me. So I can only imagine how great this would look hanging on a wall with proper illumination.

For $475(USD), you get the original 16 x 20″ painting in a rustic gold frame. Since it’s an original, it’s a one-of-a-kind piece, so if you want it, get on over to Etsy now and claim it before it’s gone. If that’s too much Gil for you, grab the 8.5 x 11″ print for $15.

Do or Do Not Do Origami, There is No Try

You’d think that a story about an origami Yoda would be a first, right? Well, the world being what it is today, it turns out that our very own Lambert Varias wrote about an origami Yoda last year. But I think this one has got the original beat like Yoda beat down Darth Maul – so take that, Lambert!

origami yoda

This detailed Yoda sculpture was hand-folded out of a single sheet of paper by James Lucas, based on a design by Fumiaki Kawahata. How can that be one sheet of paper, you ask? It’s actually a sheet of tissue-foil paper with green on one side and ivory on the other, that’s how.

Yoda stands about 6″ tall, and is covered with a layer of waterproof spray lacquer, which should keep him in good condition – though I still wouldn’t leave him out in the Dagobah swamp for long. Order origami Yoda over on Etsy for $55 (USD) you will.

Portal Companion Cube String Lights: Lighted Companion Cubes

Whoever made that awesome Portal Christmas tree should get these officially licensed Companion Cube string lights. Hopefully they won’t short and burn your house down. Because I’m sure they remember what you did.

Zelda Wedding Rings: A Link to Your Soulmate

If you’re thinking about getting married, and both you and your significant other are into classic video games, then I can’t think of anything better than these Zelda wedding bands as a symbol of your undying commitment to love, honor, and cherish one another (and occasionally dust off the old NES console together.)

zelda wedding rings

Even if your names aren’t Link and Zelda, you’ll still want to wear these rings. They’re actually quite elegant from the outside, and only those in the know will realize the meaning of the Triforce on them. One of them is inscribed with “It’s Dangerous” and the other with “To Go Alone.” Awwwwww. That’s so sweet, I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth. But seriously, these rings are pretty swell.

These were custom made by Toronto jewelry artist Zsolt Székely. They don’t list the pricing for these exact rings on their website, but says that their rings range from $295 for sterling silver designs up to $5000 and beyond for precious metals and diamonds. That’s a whole lot of rupees if you ask me, but well worth the price for something you’ll both cherish for years to come.

Motorized LEGO Tumbler: Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?

This LEGO motorized Tumbler is so detailed that you might think it was made by Wayne Industries, but it was actually made by a guy named Sariel. The man should build for Batman himself – or at least change his name to Lucius.

Weeping Angel Tree Topper: Just Don’t Use Blinking Lights

Don’t blink. Don’t use lights that blink on your Christmas tree. Otherwise it is bound to be a very short holiday season for you if you have a weeping angel tree topper.

weeping angel tree topperArtist and crafter Cynthia posted a step-by-step tutorial on how to make your own weeping angel Christmas tree topper. It isn’t as difficult as you think, but it is dangerous. Basically you will be using a plastic water bottle, a Barbie doll, modeling clay, tape, glue, and paint.

However, bringing weeping angels into this reality could kill you. Remember, always work in a mirrored room so you can keep an eye on your creation. Make one for your tree if you want, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.
