Monster Light Switch Plates Are No Less Scary with the Lights on

These monster body parts light switch plates are disgustingly awesome. They are perfect for any Halloween party or haunted house. They are completely gross, but amazing.

I used to be scared when I turned the lights off, but now I think I would be even more scared with the lights on. With the lights on, you can see all of the horrible details on these handmade switch plates and you know they will get you. Of course, in the dark, you’d feel all that weirdness when you reach for the switch, too. These plates are made with polymer clay over a standard sized light switch cover and painted with acrylics, matte varnish and gloss varnish.

Dragon Claw Bracelet, A Game of Claws

All of you Daenerys Targaryen fans out there looking for some jewelry now have a new item to lust after. This dragon claw bracelet is like having one of Daenerys’ winged babies clawing at your wrist all day long.

dragon claw bracelet

If it has any weight to it, you will soon really know what it’s like to be the Mother of Dragons. Imagine a few more perched on your shoulder and clawing at you. And they only get larger with time. Poor Daenerys. Still, it makes quite the statement for any Game of Thrones fans who want some new bling.

This one has sold from Rockerdolljewellery’s store, but she will gladly make more if you need some claws around your wrist.

Custom Star Wars LEGO Hoth Chess Set: Rogue Leader, Check!

The battle for Hoth just got all brainy and strategic. This large scale (18″ x 18″) custom chess set by Brickplace puts the Empire against the Rebel Alliance in an all new way.

The detail is amazing. You have the Rebel troops in Hoth gear, the Snowtroopers, some AT-ATs, an Imperial Probe droid and of course the Wampa monster and more! All lovingly made out of LEGO. This isn’t some overpriced Franklin Mint set that just looks gaudy. This is pure geek joy.

It even has Luke in his watery Bacta tank and Han riding a Tauntaun. Man, I wish I owned this awesome chess set. I would play chess all day just to play with the figures. Check out more amazing pics on Flickr.

PokéMMO: The Very Best MMO?

I wouldn’t be surprised if millions of Pokémon fans have been wishing for years for a MMO version of their beloved game. Nintendo may soon have more reason to consider making such a game. And I’m not talking about the impending release of World of Warcraft’s Mists of Pandaria expansion and its Pet Battle System. I’m talking about a fan-made effort called PokéMMO.

pokemmo

PokéMMO is a Windows MMO based on the Gameboy Advance version of Pokémon Fire Red. Currently in its alpha stage, the game is a lot like most MMOs, but with the beloved monsters and battling system. The picture above says it all. If you’re a Pokémon fan, the trailer below might make you faint with joy. Skip to about 1:10 to see its gameplay.

This game redefines the meaning of PvP. Head to PokéMMO’s website to sign up and play for free. Again, the game is still in alpha so expect a lot of bugs and missing content and features – this FAQ highlights some of them.

LEGO-Style Memo Pads – You Can’t Snap These Together

While it’s not an official LEGO brick on the cover of these journals, that doesn’t make them any less awesome as a place to sketch down ideas for your next big LEGO build, right?

lego style memo pad 1

Each memo pad measures about 3.14″ x 5.43″, and is adorned with a 2×4 grid of LEGO-like bumps on the front. While Moleskine does sell some official LEGO journals, I like how much more literal these are – despite the fact that they don’t interlock.

They’re available in red, green or yellow, and sell for $12(USD) each, or $29 for a set of all three over at Brando, where according to the site: “LEGOMAN does not include.” Indeed.

Doctor Who Silence Plush, Cuddliness Will Fall

You may not have any memory of it, but The Silence played a big part in series 6 of Doctor Who. That’s what those tally marks on your arm are all about. This Doctor Who Silence plush is pretty cute, despite having no arms or legs.
silence
This Silence plush is so soft that the only threat he has is that cuddliness will fall and you will hug him close. He’s cute, he’s cuddly, still a bit creepy and he’s no threat at all to you or your other plush toys. This armless and legless Silence was made by crafter Suzannah Ashley.

He stands 15″ tall and will be shown off soon over at Shmancy in Seattle. Great job Suzannah. As for the rest of you, as soon as you look away from this article, you will forget he ever existed. You might want to mark your arm.

TARDIS String Lights: I Know What’s Going on My Christmas Tree This Year

There’s no more iconic symbol of geekdom than Doctor Who’s TARDIS. You could pretty much make anything into a TARDIS, and it’ll not only be cool, but everyone will know exactly what you’re into. So the next time you throw an outdoor party – or just want to decorate your house – pick up a set of these TARDIS string lights, and proudly fly your geek flag.

Each set of TARDIS lights comes with ten tiny TARDISes (TARDi?) strung together on a 9-foot-long cord. And just like most holiday lights, you can plug multiple strings into each other to make a longer one. I wonder if you could shrink yourself and step inside one of the miniature TARDi, if there’d be a set of time and space controls inside.

Doctor Who fans (or blue police box fans) can grab a string of these TARDIS lights over at ThinkGeek for $19.99(USD). Grab ‘em now if you want to be sure to have them decorate your holiday tree this year. One ThinkGeek commenter even suggested a Weeping Angel tree-topper to go with.

Guns Made from Animal Bones: Shoot to (Road)kill

As art, these guns made from the bones of dead animals, is pretty awesome. Still, it’s a bit too creepy for my gun-wielding needs. These guns are a lot like checking out a hot Goth chick. They are morbidly beautiful and I can’t help but stare, nevertheless, I don’t want to be around most of them.

animal bone guns 1

These unusual gun replicas are made from the bones of a variety of woodland animals by Bruce Mahalski. No, they don’t fire bone ammunition and they aren’t for killing demons. As far as I know anyway. The bones are attached to toy guns to give them their structure.

You’ll find parts of ferret’s, cat vertebrae and more on these guns. I don’t even wanna know where he gets his supplies. Maybe he knows somebody in the roadkill cleanup business. Say, wasn’t that on an episode of Dexter?

Epic Star Wars Cake is Epic

Sometimes you can’t just pick one favorite character from the Star Wars movies. Who says you have to? At least that’s the idea that one baker had when creating what could be the most awesome Star Wars cake ever. Ok, it’s not as incredibly crafted as the full-size Stormtrooper and Darth Vader cakes, but it’s still pretty great.

star wars mashup cake

This single cake combines Darth Vader, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and Yoda into a single, epic cake masterpiece. Nobody seems to know who made this amazing cake, but whoever you are, I bend the knee to you. The only thing missing are Boba Fett and Stormtrooper layers but I suppose you could always pick those up here.

Amigurumi TIE Fighter and AT-AT Crush the Rebel Alliance with Cuteness

It’s my theory that part of the reason the Empire had so much trouble taking down the Rebel Alliance and Jedi was that they just weren’t nice enough. You know what they say “kill ‘em with kindness” and all. Well if I were flying along in an X-Wing or a Snowspeeder, I’d be much more likely to be pulled in close to have a look at them if they looked as cute and cuddly as these.
amigurumi at at tie fighter star wars

These amigurumi crocheted TIE fighter and AT-AT are about as darling as Star Wars stuff can get, and sure to charm the pants off of Rogue Leader and Red Five all at once. And yes, I know they’re the same person, but that just sounded good.

These designs were created by Etsy artist Ana of MysteriousCats, who offers them up as patterns for you to crochet yourself, or if you’re lucky, you might find an already assembled one in her shop. The patterns will run you about $8 (USD), while a complete AT-AT sells for about $33. Ana’s also got designs in her shop for an X-Wing fighter, the Millenium Falcon, if you’re more into the Light Side, and a Naboo Starfighter if you can’t make up your mind which side you’re on. She’s also got one of these…
