Calligraphuck Profane Letterpress Cards Let You Curse With Cursive

If someone pisses you off, let them go. Don’t curse, don’t fight, don’t even hope that they’ll trip and fall flat on their faces as they walk away. Instead, go home and whip out your set of Calligraphuck Profane Letterpress Cards.

CalligraphuckYou probably won’t feel like sending it off in the morning, but hey, at least you got it out of your system. But if you do end up sending it, at least you did it with a touch of class. Well, sort of.

I think you sort of already know what to expect from these cards based on their name alone.

Calligraphuck1

Calligraphucks are beautifully typeset cards emblazoned with a series of curses and profanities that might just make you blush.

Unfortunately, they’re not available – yet. They’re currently up for funding on Indiegogo, where a minimum pledge of $25 will get you a complete set of four awesome profanity-laced cards, including custom string and button envelopes to deliver your message in.

Head on over to Calligraphuck’s project page on Indiegogo for more information.

Portal Gun Made from Wood, Metal, Glass and a Big Bowl of Awesomesauce

This wouldn’t be the firstmost accurate, or even the first reinterpreted version of the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Gun I’ve ever seen, but it might just be the most awesome. Instead of being made out of slick plastic or fiberglass, this version is handcrafted from more traditional materials.

Sculptor Duncan Shirah created this Portal gun using wood, metal and glass, and it has an elegant look all its own. It’s almost like Chell got transported back to the Victorian era at some point during her time-travel escapades in Portal 2, and was bestowed with this wooden beauty. I wonder what a wooden Wheatley with a glass eyeball would look like? Or a brass GLaDOS?

There’s no indication if Duncan would consider building more of these if you offered him enough money, but you can check out more of his works and get in touch with him over on his website or Facebook.

Hulk Computer Casemod is Simply Smashing

Hulk fans are sure to love this awesome radioactive green computer case mod. Even the Hulk himself would just stand before it in amazement rather than try to smash it and he smashes everything.

In fact, I dare say that it would bring a tear to the Hulk’s eye. It features a whole mess of green cold cathodes, action figures doing various things, external hardware, and cooling equipment that glows and looks like radioactive ooze. It’s completely over the top, but in a good way.

This unbelievable piece of art was the highlight of this year’s ‘bring your own computer’ at QUAKECON 2012. You can see why. It was built by Derrick Johnson who knows that it is better to build and not destroy like the Hulk. Check out the gallery over on ScrewAttack for more great pictures.

NES Toaster Makes You Take out the Toast and Blow on It

If only Nintendo would actually make stuff like this, my life would be complete. I mean, just look at how amazing this NES toaster looks. It’s an Nintendo Entertainment System that makes you breakfast. Best toaster ever.

It’s an awesome accessory that is perfect for every geek kitchen. And no, you don’t really have to blow on the toast a few times before getting it to work. Although I wouldn’t mind one bit. It just adds authenticity.

It was made by my burning eyes on Deviantart, who obviously knows something about design. I love the sliders in front to control how dark you want your toast.

It’s also the exact opposite of the Nintoaster.

Power-Up Arcade Switch Plate Levels up Your Light Switch

If you’ve played or at least seen one of those games down at your local arcade, then you’ll immediately recognize and understand just how cool these Power-Up Arcade Light Switch Plates are.

Power Up Arcade Light Switch Plate1The plate is designed to cover your existing switch-type light switch. So really, all you have to do is uncrew your current blah-looking cover and screw this one on instead. Moving the joystick lets you turn the lights on and off. But the buttons aren’t there for show. Hit one and the ‘Power-Up’ sign lights up. Hit the other button and it emits arcade sound effects.

Pew! Pew!

The Power-Up Arcade Light Switch Plates are available from ThinkGeek for $29.99(USD).

Jabba the Hutt Purse Perfect for Holding onto All Your Bounty

Ladies, the next time you decide to dress up in your Slave Leia outfit, you might need a purse to go with it. And there’s no more perfect handbag on the planet than this Jabba the Hutt purse I spotted over on Etsy.

jabba hutt purse

Artist Cat Penfold found an old lizard-textured vinyl purse and gave it the perfect Jabba the Hutt paintjob. She first coated it with a sickly green wash, then painted on Jabba’s beady orange eyes and double triple quadruple chin. His mouth took care of itself thanks to the shape of the purse. The whole thing has been coated with durable UV-protective finish, which should protect it from the harsh suns on Tatooine.

This one-of-a-kind Jabba handbag is available over Etsy for $80(USD), so if you want it, you’d better grab it now. If not, you might have to just settle for an Ewok purse instead…

Star Trek Fatheads Put Sci-Fi Icons on Your Wall

Star Trek purists might not appreciate the fact that I never liked the original series. I liked the original films well enough, but the original TV show was super cheesy in my opinion. I was a huge fan of The Next Generation and him firmly in camp Picard when it comes to choosing sides.

Fathead has been making life-sized vinyl stickers to decorate your walls of athletes, cars, and all sorts of other things for a long time. The company has announced it is now offering Star Trek fatheads with characters and graphics from the original series and TNG.

Whichever Captain you prefer, you’ll be able to choose between a life-size Kirk or Picard. It’s interesting to note that Kirk is only 5′-11″ tall while Jean-Luc is 6-4″ tall – a good 6 inches taller than Patrick Stewart is in real life. Though to be fair, Kirk is slightly kneeling down in his decal.

The series also includes Mr. Spock, the Enterprise from the original series, and logos from the original series. TNG fans can also get commander William T. Riker, Lieutenant Commander Data, Lieutenant Worf, as well as their updated Enterprise. Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise fans are out of luck for now though. Prices for the decals range from $39.99 for a basic starfleet logo up to $99.99 for the characters and ships.

Zombie Sheets: The Walking Dead in Bed

Zombies and zombettes, here’s a great way to decorate your guest bedroom if you’re looking for something nice and scary to greet your friends. This set of custom-made sheets is adorned with a zombie-attack theme to keep your houseguests on their toes – and the edge of their bed – all night.

walking dead sheets 1

The zombie sheet set was created by textile designer Melissa Christie, and it’s covered with the ever-grasping arms of the undead, as they reach for your guests’ braaaaaaains while they sleep. The best part of the design is the blood-spattered pillowcases – which let your friends know that the zombies got the last person who slept here.

The design is a combination of screen-printing, hand painting, and appliqued hands on the pillowcases, and the result is 100% awesome. Right now, Melissa isn’t taking any more orders for the sheets, but she might do another run in future. You’re best off keeping an eye out on her Etsy shop if you’d like a set for yourself. Otherwise, you could try and DIY a set if you’ve got the artistic chops – and plenty of blood-red paint lying around.

Life-sized Darth Vader Cake: Use the Forks, Luke!

This life-sized Darth Vader cake could feed an entire Death Star or a whole village of ewoks on Endor. Heck, it could probably satisfly that huge asteroid worm that tried to eat the Millennium Falcon. It stands six feet, seven inches tall and looks both evil and delicious.
vader cake 1
This huge and impressive cake showed up at the recent Star Wars Celebration VI in Florida. 600 people attended the 501st Legion banquet in Orlando and got to enjoy this tasty treat. It weighed 500-pounds before they dug into it. Now that weight is evenly distributed to so many nerd thighs and hips.

It took baker Amanda Oakleaf and her crew (who also made the popular edible stormtrooper) 386 eggs, 57 pounds of butter, 46 pounds of sugar, 210 pounds of marshmallow fondant and a lot of Star Wars love. Luke, I am your dessert!

Leese Design iPhone Cases: You Can Sew Your Own Way!

I’ve probably seen thousands of iPhone cases, but only a couple interested me enough that I ended up buying them. While I’m not a snob, I’m well aware that a case that doesn’t feature a nice design ethos won’t please me for long. These cases from Korea’s Leese Design incorporate a bit of DIY style to make each one unique.

stipin diy stitch leese design iphone case

The DIY Stipin case from Leese Design has an embroidered design on its back. The case comes in a variety of complete pre-stitched designs, but what’s really fun is that buyers can cross-stitch their own designs if they want to. There are pattern guides available for those of us not that nimble with a needle, which should allow everyone to complete a case like this. Oh, and those cute little pins are designed to plug into your headphone jack when not in use.

The cases sell from Leese Design for ₩48,000 (~$48 USD) but the DIY version sells for just ₩30,000 (~$30 USD).
