Chewbacca and Ewok Pal Around as Star Trek Officers: Star Trek Wars

I will admit that it is rather cool to mix two beloved science fiction properties into one. Take this fan made artwork for instance. It has Chewbacca and wicket the Ewok standing on Endor. There is one major thing that’s a little out of place though – they are both wearing Starfleet uniforms.

The artist who made the illustration is Rey Paez and he made it with the Procreate app on the iPad. It’s a fun idea, but one thing that bothers me about the image is that while Wicket is in proper form with the proportions we remember from Return of the Jedi, Chewie looks just plain weird. In this image, he’s tall, thin, and has a rather phallic shape to him. Wookiees have been known to rip arms out of sockets if you call them a dick, so I won’t go that far.

LEGO Bioshock Infinite Motorized Patriot: Comstock’s Brick Men

This LEGO model of the Motorized Patriot from Bioshock Infinite is a testament to the technical prowess and power of Carl Merriam. He made it as part of his Iron Builder battle with Pepa Quin, who if I remember correctly is another famous and talented LEGO enthusiast.

Your Unborn Baby, Immortalized in a 3D Printed Figure

Technology has made it easier for prospective parents to see what their child looks like, even before he or she is born. There’s ultrasound (to get a rough outline), 3D imaging, and even 4D ultrasound so you can clearly see your unborn baby’s face and physical features in real time.

Now there are 3D printed figures of your unborn baby.

3D Fetus 620x621A company called 3D Babies is offering parents-to-be a chance to see and touch a replica of their unborn child by using data from 3D and 4D ultrasounds. The result is an accurate albeit somewhat creepy 3D model of the developing child.

3D Fetus1 620x496magnify

Three sizes are available: lifesize, which is priced at $600(USD), half-size, which is priced at $400, and mini, which is priced at $200. Clearly, it’s not cheap, and probably only the most excited of parents will choose to spend money on this (although it would probably be smarter if they spent that money on baby supplies instead.)

3D Babies may even offer people a chance to 3D print babies that aren’t their own. For a time, they were even offering 3D prints of North West (Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s baby). Now that’s wrong on so many levels.

3D Printed Sad Keanu is Anything But Sad for the People Who Buy One

Keanu Reeves is one of the many celebrities who have been turned into a meme. The Sad Keanu meme came to be a couple of years back after someone snapped a picture of Keanu sitting alone on a park bench, looking particularly downcast. While Keanu explained that he’s not sad or depressed, the meme lives on.

And now it lives on in another form: a 3D printed figurine.

Krang Belt Buckle: Waist Clan

Villain in a buckle, alien power! Let the disembodied villain use you as his exo-suit. Freakshop proprietor Christopher Genovese made this awesome oversized belt buckle featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s sworn enemy. I’m not sure how large the buckle is exactly, but it’s probably as large as a child’s head.

Christopher made the buckle out of urethane resin. Then he painted it by hand and finished it with a polyurethane clear coat.

Christopher can also add a mount to Krang if you’d rather hang him on a wall, but unless you have a person hanging on your wall, what fun is that?

Activate the Technodrome and head to Freakshop to order the buckle. It costs $190 (USD) and is made to order, so give Christoper one to three weeks to make you one.

Holy Batarang Boomerang, Batman!

Victor Poulin makes all kinds of cool boomerangs. Even the glaive from Krull. He recently made this sweet Batman batarang, which works really nicely and comes back to the thrower. I just wish I could see the Joker get hit upside the head with this thing. Crazy freak!

In the video below, Poulin shows off the batarang like a pro. This thing measures 25.25 inches across even though it doesn’t look that big. He throws it and it returns to him every time. It’s a bit big for a utility belt, but it works like a champ.

It’s made of wood, so it is probably nice and light – and not as deadly as it looks. Poulin is a true boomerang master. Check out this other video of him playing basketball and starting fires with a boomerang. Great stuff.

Adventure Time & Attack on Titan Fan Art: Shingeki no Kyo-Jake

Artist Rodrigo Costa Alexandrino of the deviantART Corps unleashed this “double fan art” on the hapless walls of the Internet. He calls it Adventure on Titan, and it features Finn & BMO trying to rescue Princess Bubblegum from a wrong-teous Jake.
