Star Wars Rebel Alliance & Galactic Empire Lollipops: The Sweet Side of the Force

Suck it Rebel Alliance. Suck it Imperial Empire. I mean that in the nicest way possible. As in, each group can now suck on these awesome lollipops. These intergalactic suckers were created by Priscilla Briggs of Designer Lollipop. The Star Wars universe just got sweeter.

Priscilla has created this neat set of Star Wars-themed Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire insignia lollipops that look too good to eat. You can purchase them from her Etsy store at the link above for $16(USD) for a set of six lollies.

It’s worth looking around in her shop, she has other many great looking lollipops. Even Death Stars, R2-D2s and Stormtroopers. They really look great. I’m not sure how she gets such nice detail. Of course, that’s why she is making candy and I am not.

Marvel at this Incredible Hulk Bookcase

Hulk ANGRY! Hulk SMASH! Hulk READ! Hmmm, actually I’m not too sure about that last part. Though we do know that Bruce Banner is a brilliant doctor and nuclear physicist, so he probably is quite well-read. So what better place for Dr. Banner to keep his books safe from his fits of radioactive rage than inside this Hulk bookcase?

hulk bookcase

It’s made by Whittled in Wood – the same folks behind the epic AT-AT bookcase, and made from birch plywood. Though from everything I can tell, there was no whittling involved, but I’m not going to argue with the Hulk. Naturally, it’s been painted in Hulk green – which I think should really be a standard paint color at the hardware store – along with Iron Man Red, Batman Black, and The Tick Blue.

The Incredible Hulk Bookcase sells for $800(USD) over on Etsy.

Car Gets Completely Covered in Leather

I’ve seen cars covered in gold, diamonds and other materials, but it isn’t everyday that you see a car covered in bison leather. This insanely over-the-top ride was made by a guy from Russia.

The car is completely covered in Canadian wood bison leather from the inside out. I guess this guy really loves his leather. Though expensive natural fur, including mink and sable was added to the interior to complement the bison leather.

The hood, dashboard, seats and even the engine has been enshrouded in specially treated leather that can withstand high temperatures.

And of course, there are also Swarovski crystals in select areas, because you have to have those gaudy and cheap bits of glass to pimp anything out.

What do you think? Too much leather? Or do you love it? Oh, did I happen to mention that it’s for sale? It’s just 88,000,000 Russian Rubles – or about $2.66 million US Dollars.

If Batman Wore Scalemaille

Over the years Batman’s suit has ranged from a form-fitting nylon leotard to lightweight carbon composites. But if Batman dwelled in medieval times, I bet he’d have worn something like this.

scalemaille batman 1

This scalemaille armor Batsuit was handmade by Creations by Christopher. The body is made from almost 27,000 individual stainless steel rings, 4,500 large anodized aluminum scales, and another 3,000 small ones.

The armor weighs in at about 60 pounds, and includes not only the upper body, breastplate, pauldron and backplate, but it comes with a pair of matching Bat-bracers, and a cuisse to protect your lower body. The suit is rounded out with a fabric cape and boots, as well as a helmet with bat-like knife-ears – though Christopher didn’t make the helmet himself.

The whole getup was custom-made for a web series called Legends: The Dark Knight, and is now available for sale up on Etsy. Unless you’re Bruce Wayne, you’ll need to save up a few paychecks for this suit though – as it’s going for $9500(USD). Also, you need to be 6-feet-tall, weigh about 190 pounds, and have a 32″ waist. Though if you can afford another $1000 or so, Christopher will custom make one to your size.

Robocop Statue Continues Its Journey to Detroit

We told you about Detroit’s Robocop Statue in the past. It’s one of the few joys that Detroit has left after some tough economic times. Now you can watch the unboxing of the form for the 10-foot-tall Robocop statue as it arrives at Venus Bronze Works in Detroit where it will be completed.

Pete Hottelet, who made the video, is a major investor of the project. As Pete says, “This is the foam sculpt; The bronze statue will be cast from these pieces. The final location for the statue is still to be determined, we are accepting solicitations so it gets the best placement possible.”

We will continue to cover this story until the mighty Robocop statue is standing guard over the city where he belongs.

Guy Builds Star Wars X-34 Landspeeder for Son

Instructables member blogsdo is a pretty awesome guy. He made this “quick and dirty” Landspeeder X-34 for his son’s 6th birthday party. He used a chassis from a pedal powered Original Kettcar and built the frame around it.

He did a pretty awesome job if you ask me. I like that he used flower pots for the engines. Hey, whatever you have handy is fair game as far as I’m concerned. The important thing is that the kids at that party had a lot of fun and now all want this guy for a dad. They’ve probably started calling his house Mos Eisley.

How cool would it be to ride this Landspeeder around the neighborhood on Halloween?

Head to Folkenstal to order these items. I’m not sure if they’ve been already bought, but some of the armor featured here are not on the shop as of this writing. I wonder if you’ll get a discount on the other items if you get the Amulet of Zenithar first. Yeah! Inside joke! Thanks Google!

Game Controller Cookies: Press A to eAt

I’ve really been trying to avoid carbs lately, but I keep falling off the wagon. Now that I’ve seen these cookies shaped like game controllers, I’m really screwed. I’m not only off the wagon, but under its wheels for these sugary treats.

game controller cookies

These beautiful gamer cookies come in the shape of a Wii-mote, PS3 Dual Shock and Xbox 360 controllers. They’re made by Peapod’s Cookies and perfectly capture every detail of the actual controllers.

Of course, all this cookie artistry comes at a price. The set of 12 controllers shown here will set you back $52(USD). That’s over $4 per cookie. Still, that’s cheaper than a single A-list title for either the Xbox 360 or PS3, and way tastier. Way better than those invisible Kinect cookies I ate last night.

Crayon Bandolier for Kids: Dress Like Craybacca

So it might not be the best idea to make your little kids watch Rambo, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to dress like a commando. With the Crayon Bandolier, your youngun will be a young gun, toting around their colorful ammo.

crayon bandolier

Instead of bullets, this bandolier holds up to 24 crayons – for making art, not war. Perfect for members of the Crayola cartel, the Crayon Bandolier sells for $24.99(USD) over at ThinkGeek – including 24 crayons, including that oh so useful white one.

GLaDOS Cosplay is a Huge Success

When you see cosplayers, sometimes you look beyond the beauty of their costumes and realize that many of these people combine art with sheer effort. Some costumes are not worn, but endured. I think I could say the same for this amazing GLaDOS cosplay by Athena Cole aka Enayla, who had herself suspended five feet off the ground to emulate the Portal villain’s appearance.

Enayla presented her cosplay at the 2013 PAX Prime and was so eye-catching that she had to be moved to another hall more suited to gawking at GLaDOS. Here’s a better look at her costume taken by Count3D, which includes the PVC structure that she’s hanging from.

On her blog, Enayla said she stayed up in 40 to 45 min. increments and took lots of breaks. By the end of the day, she reckons she spent a total of four and a half hours in GLaDOS’ nonexistent shoes. Here’s her in-costume interview with Invader Boom:

Enayla should use a voice modulator so she could talk like GLaDOS.
