Game of Thrones Toilet Paper Holder, Wiping is Coming

No matter which house you are a part of in Westeros – Lannister, Stark, Greyjoy, Targaryen… They all eventually have to poop. Forget fighting for the Iron Throne. It’s not even a comfortable seat. This Throne of Rolls on the other hand is worth battling over.

You will never run out of toilet paper sitting on this throne. Though it’s not too comfortable. After all, a king must never rest easy. This amusing toilet paper roll holder was made by Instructables member fjanse. He built it from toy swords, brush handles, a shield, and a base meant to hold toilet rolls.

When you play the Throne of Rolls, there is only sh*t or get off the pot.

Disney Movies Get Brutally Honest Titles

You might want to usher any kids out of the room before you continuing reading this post, because the honest titles The FW came up with for a bunch of Disney movies might just be too honest for their tastes.

If you’ve seen other trailers and posters that have been dubbed as “honest”, then you know it’s the most blunt and straightforward version of events minus the fairy tale aspect of the story.

Disney Honest

Some of the titles are cruelly apt, while others are just hilarious and fitting. My favorite is the one for Beauty and the Beast. It’s one of my favorite Disney movies and Belle having Stockholm syndrome isn’t very hard to believe. Let’s just hope they really ended up happily ever after.

You can check out the rest of the honest Disney titles in the gallery below.

Ben Heck Bakes a Raspberry Pi Portable

We’ve seen a small arcade machine that can be powered by a Raspberry Pi. Master modder Ben Heck decided to make an even tinier version of the tiny computer and put it in a custom case with buttons, turning it into a portable gaming device.

Aside from a Raspberry Pi, Ben Heck also used a 3.5″ LCD screen, a Teensy board, a couple of Li-ion batteries and some buttons from a Logitech gamepad.

Then he 3D printed a case, wired everything together and installed MAME on the Pi. You can skip to around 15:10 in the video below to see it working:

Can we just sit back for a minute and process what we saw? He made a freakin’ gaming device. On his own. This guy. This Ben Heck guy. He is quite the guy. If you have the same godly capabilities, head to Thingiverse to get the files you need to 3D print the case.

Super Mario Bros. Fan Art: It’s a-me, in HD!

deviantART member João Victor G. Costa aka JINNdev wondered what the 1985 classic Super Mario Bros. would look like if it was made today but still based on the game’s original sprites. Then he stopped thinking and started making moves. Here’s what JINNdev came up with.

The colors and the hand-drawn look are nice and remind me of Braid. At the same time in my minds eye I always see the game with blinking lights and accents, like with the question mark blocks, the coins and the star power up, so I also feel like something was lost in JINNdev’s drawing.

I wonder how it would look like in motion. Check out JINNdev’s deviantART page for the original image.

Creepy Piranha Plant: Kill it With Fire Flower!

I haven’t played The Last of Us yet, but I think if you crossed that game with Super Mario Bros. this would be one of its enemies. This gruesome sculpture came from the talented hands and twisted mind of Karen aka Dogzillalives. Karen said it’s made of “polymer clay, acrylic paint, matte and gloss varnishes.” I’m not sure I believe her.

She actually just calls it “Medium plant guy.” I don’t even want to know what Large plant guy looks like. Check out her deviantART page and her Etsy shop if your stomach isn’t empty yet.

Dalek Planter: Germinate! Germinate!

Nothing takes the steam out of a Dalek like taking his dead carcass and putting it in your garden to use as a planter. Daleks don’t look menacing at all with flowers coming out of them.
dalek planter
This “Ex-Germinate” Dalek flower pot was made by photographer and Doctor Who collector Chris Balcombe, who obviously knows how to handle an evil Dalek. Even the Doctor himself has never exiled a Dalek into a garden. Let’s just hope this doesn’t lead to a new Dalek race that is just as deadly, but looks prettier.

Now all we need is a Cyberman and K-9 and this could be an amazing Doctor Who robotic garden tourist attraction.

TARDIS Octopus Necklace: Eight Arms to Hold You Through Time and Space

What is blue, has eights arms and is bigger on the inside? This Doctor Who “statement” necklace, that’s what. Or as I like to call it, the “OctoTARDIS” or “Doctor Cthulu”.

Han Solo LEGO Portrait: Better Than Being Trapped in Carbonite, I Suppose.

This Han Solo LEGO pixel art from The Sydney Brick Show this past April is mindblowingly cool. If you aren’t familiar with the event, it’s an opportunity for Australian LEGO sculptors bring some of their creations and get together with other fans.

han solo lego art
Skels from Geek Crafts shared some of the best things that she saw there and among them is this amazing pixelated Han Solo LEGO sculpture. This entire piece is said to be about 1 meter squared and is comprised of over TWENTY THOUSAND bricks.

Yes, you read that right. Why so many? Because those pieces are the tiny “one-ers” that are always all over your kid’s floor, waiting to stab you in the feet.

Motorsports Team Builds The Homer, Doh!

I wish I could buy this thing. The team at Porcubimmer Motors has created a pretty accurate recreation of The Homer. You might remember it as the car designed by Homer Simpson that brought his brother’s empire crumbling down. It looks great IRL.

the homer 1
This bright green eyesore cost $82,000 to make price tag, but still it is “powerful like a gorilla, but soft and yielding like a Nerf ball.” And that will definitely cost you.

the homer 2

The detail is quite nice – complete with a plastic bubble for your kid. It has fins, giant cup holders, a bowling trophy hood ornament and the horn plays La Cucaracha. Because seriously, whats even the point otherwise?

I’m no sure if there are three horns in the interior — a feature of the original Homer, because “you can never find a horn when you’re angry” — but we’re willing to look the other way, because seriously, look how incredible this thing is. The license plates even read “BORT.” Awesome.

This is a great homage to Homer. You can check out more photos of The Homer here.
