Balloon Animal AT-ATs: Hoth Air

Look out kid! You’re being attacked by a couple of Imperial Walkers! These impressive balloon animal AT-ATs were created by Balloon Guy Entertainment, who previously blew up a Balloon Bag End from The Hobbit.

What’s that you say? You don’t have a tow cable to take them down? That’s okay, kid, all you need is a pin.

Adventure Time Magic: The Gathering Deck: Unflooped

Redditor The_Stoney_Badger’s friend put together this Magic: The Gathering deck. It’s a red token deck, nothing too fancy… except his friend replaced the art on the cards with appropriate images from Adventure Time. Metamagical!

Just to be clear, these are not made up cards. The_Stoney_Badger’s friend printed screenshots from the cartoon and pasted them over existing Magic cards. He also drew scenes from Adventure Time‘s classic Card Wars episode into a playing mat.

Pac-Man Fish Tank: Drivin’ Fish Crazy

Wanna give your fish a good time and give them a break from their boring lives? Replace their ordinary tank with this Pac-Man maze tank. This aquarium will keep their minds occupied. It may even give them Pac-Man fever and drive them crazy.
pac man fish tank 620x707magnify

This fish tank was built by Instructables member antoniraj. It was created with 5 mm sheets of glass for the outside and 2 mm sheets for the maze, then it was all sealed together with Araldite epoxy glue. Dots and power pellets are optional.

If you decide to build one, you’ll just need a yellow fish for Pac-Man and the appropriately colored fish-ghosts. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how long your fish will last in this tank, but it is a fun project.

Dragon Quest Floor Mats: Wiper of the Remnant Slimes

Square Enix will be releasing floor mats featuring graphics from the 8-bit Dragon Quest games. The mats are made of acrylic fiber and will come in three variants: journey – i.e. a portal – staircase and poison swamp. Yes kids, this is how swamps looked like back then.

Sonic The Hedgehog Pint Glasses: 16 Ounces, 16 Bits

Some of my favorite games of all time are the original Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Now you can be reminded of these 16-bit SEGA classics every time you take a sip of your favorite beverage.

Artist Adds Star Wars Characters to Thrift Shop Paintings

A lot of people take paintings that they find at thrift stores and add stuff to them. Some people even add Star Wars themes to these paintings, but Dave Vancook has a great eye for it.

Boba Fett as a matador, facing off against a raging bull? Greedo in Scottish attire, riding a pony? How about an Endor Scout trooper having lunch at a restaurant with his speeder bike parked in front? Check. Check. And check. That is just some of Dave’s fantastically geeky work.

I would love to hang these up in my home. I especially like the Boba Fett one. It’s classy and geeky.

Ship Built out of Coins Sails the Curren Sea

This ship is a pirate’s conundrum. You can board her and get the booty, but you can’t take the loot without taking apart the ship. It just reminds me of what I could have accomplished had I not wasted so may quarters in the arcade.

coin ship 620x503magnify

This model sailing frigate made entirely out of coins.  It is the work of Sergei Nikolayev Knurov, a chef in Ukraine. The 30-pound hull is made of 17,000 coins held together with glue. The sails are even made of paper currency.

Knurov used mostly 2- and 10-kopek coins and 25 5-hryvnia banknotes. He and his wife, Alena, worked on the project together. It took them two to three hours a day for six months, and it cost about 800 hryvnia (~$77 USD) to build. They hope to sell it for about 4,000 hryvnia ($386 USD). That will be a nice profit.
